I remember many years ago in St Pete, FL, on Christmas Eve morning I was swimming in the pool getting toys off the bottom cleaning up the pool for the next day. Our neighbor came over and took pictures of me to send to family up north. They couldn't get over me swimming that time of year, but my lips were blue, as it was a bit cold, for Florida. I have family near Little Rock, and up in Heber Springs, need to get out there one day when snow is on the ground.

BRRR! Where did fall go, I ask you?

Went out to the barn today to spruce up the big guy's mane and tail for tomorrow in case the Chevy folks want him in their shoot, and ended up saddling him up for a short ride. I only had thin gloves on (lucky I put some cuddle duds on under my dress leggings), and had to get in the truck 3x while I was getting Zig ready to ride, just to thaw out my fingers. My hands seemed to adjust a bit after a while, and we had a pleasant ride, but boy was I glad of the big warm barn jacket I'd left in my truck. Zig is back on his feet, and was showing off to me the whole time, eager to hit the trails, then sad when I turned back before we got to them. He got in a good graze of long grass on the way back though. We brought the ranch's trash can in together, which was quite terrifying until I halted and set a treat on the top of the can. Lather, rinse, repeat, every 10 feet or so until we were almost out of treats and reached their house. He has been leery of trash day for over a year, perhaps we have found a remedy for that. Or, perhaps, I have created a monster, who will want to search the top of every can we ride past, for treats.

My lovely Fushia Flame arrived today, *after* my manicure...she didn't have any white glitter! But we'll fix that next time, as well as doing a more "detailed" flame motif. My fault, truly; I forgot the fine tip brushes and opal/white glitter for snow.

Kenna, good find for Mommabird! :thumb: You did good detective work so Mommabird can be generous with piffing (is that a verb?). Wonderful how many people to try help others on this forum.

Merryhellion, think your nails, tip and iStick are a great pink combo; and, Keepsmiling, your Winter Day looks like it'll be used a lot for the next week!

Killowatt, had uncle who lived here in Chattanooga who brought his kids to Ft. Laud. for Christmas back in early 1960's. They always insisted on a swim at the beach before heading back home......They swam while I watched. 70 degrees was too cold for me!

Good evening...well it's cold here and going to get colder but the weekend will be spend sewing for Christmas....due to possible weather issues just going to stay in town and two of hubby's sisters and I will work at my house. Between the three of us we have 5 nightgowns and 4 boys pj bottoms to make. I will actually do more sewing as will make each of the grandkids another pair of pjs for our family Christmas. Hubby's mom always made pjs for the grandkids so we are trying to carry on the tradition, it's fun and the kids love it. Sew...I'll be busy:D

Hey, Hemptation. :) Hope all is well with you and your family, and the work you're doing is making another family's Christmas.

Iowa Gal, what a fine and sweet tradition to carry on. I could use some new Christmas pj's too! :D

Is it a night off for tip spotting? Cause after I ordered my christmas special edition ego snowman rig off Rakuten, I'm in a serious holiday mood...

Now picture this lil guy with the iStick and my new Fuschia Flame tip...cause that's how it's gonna go down!

Iowa that's a wonderful tradition. I still remember the pretty, warm, flannel nightgowns Grandma made. On Christmas Eve we were allowed 1 present to open before bed. I always chose the one from her :)

What is really fun is we get the same fabric for the little ones (ages 2-8 or so) and the cousins love matching each other....it's really quite special. I know how much our kids enjoyed getting the pjs from Grandma and the little girls always wanted their pictures taken with their matching pjs. I'm pretty sure the boys also liked them, they just preferred to run around instead of taking pictures:laugh:
