Of course not. SB is great, but you can spend more and more trying new stuff that comes out every ones in a while. 3 years later I'll have enough unspent funds to buy the new Provari or whatever will be the best VVPV and keep enjoying every minute of it.
That doesn't mean someone is right or wrong. That's just my personal vision

Hey Sailor...I'm not hyper-paranoid - just had one melt down & start smoking while plugged into my pc right next to me. I'm still using a passthru but watch it like a hawk + use a Lipo-Safe bag for the wall. Rather be safe then sorry.

Using a lipo-safe bag is a good idea, especially for the eGo type USB chargers. Those chargers aren't built to the finest quality and that extra layer of protection could prevent damage to property or persons should a meltdown occur. I don't see that as being paranoid at all.

You shouldn't charge it on your pc. I don't even use a passthrough on a PC and i'm not paranoid. A wall adapter is $5. Better yet, a self-powered USB hub.

I completely agree with the powered USB hub for that type of charging interface. I've heard tales of people frying their motherboards trying to charge battery operated devices (especially PV batteries) from the PC USB ports. You can get powered USB hubs from Amazon cheap, so it's a good investment.

That's cool. If you read back a bit, you'll see the OP had a total budget of $150. Presumably, that includes everything, including juice.

In a fast changing technology, my philosophy is not to pay a lot for something just so it lasts so long that it's obsolete years before it breaks down. I learned that lesson when I bought a top of the line computer that I was still using 5 years after it was obsolete. For the same outlay, I could have bought a new computer every 2 years and I would have had a faster and more capacious computer for 5 or 6 of the 8 years that thing lasted.

You're right. I shouldn't have added that one. But when the guy in FL blew his teeth out, suddenly there were people wanting Altsmoke to cut slots in the Silver Bullet, even though it had perfectly adequate venting. People were talking abuot how they only charged outside (presumably under a roof). Stuff like that is what I was talking about.

lol, yea I just quit smoking about 3 months ago and I smoked for 15 years, I'm still trying to stop calling it smoke, its vapor, but when you have smoked for that long, its just habit to call it wrong, thanks for all the info, this was my time posting on here. you guys have been a big help getting me off my ego and helping me get a better setup. I had no idea that the vaping community was so big, it seams to be growing so fast.

Yep, I understand that. Most modern PVs do take venting into consideration, and that's a good thing. There will always be that kind of reaction as each of these incidents happen, and they will continue to happen as the industry grows. I think part of that reaction is not only for personal safety, but for the sake of the vaping industry on which so many of us have come to depend. I started the "Vape Responsibly" campaign for both of these reasons and I will generally tell people to err on the side of caution, especially when they are just learning about vaping.

I think you'll be quite happy with the SB based on the reviews I've read. Keep your eGo setup as a backup though, and try some LR cartomizers or clearomizers on those batteries to see if you can find something that will work for you in a pinch.

That is not accurate, the Twist is continuous variable voltage anywhere between 3.2 and 4.8 volts.

It's accurate. The Twist is incremented in 0.2V steps. There are 9 steps between 3.2 and 4.8. So, if I was inaccurate, it was because I said it was a 10 setting selectable voltage when, in fact, it's a 9 setting selectable voltage e-cig. 0.2V steps is not continuous.
