Anyone know if Panera Bread is vape friendly? I love their Chai Tea Lattes!!!

I know that Panera is Open Carry friendly (guns). We used to have OC meetup lunches at several local Paneras when I lived in NC. They seem pretty cool with civil liberty issues as company, and tend to not set corporate policies that are more restrictive than State or Local laws. It's worth a try...

Things like Starbucks have been out of the picture for me pretty much from the get go because I was making my own Cafe Latte before Starbucks came out on my $100 Krups. And when it broke I got one like new for $10 at Salvation Army. I've been shopping consignment for a lot of things since my first child was born. She's 29. When I make a bad financial move that costs me more than I enjoy thinking about I remember how I didn't buy candy and drinks at the movies and soda with a dinner out or get drunk at a bar ( drank for decades but sober now) or get a DUI or have Starbucks every morning on my way to work, well it doesn't hurt so bad.

My closest Starbucks is pretty friendly to vaping on the outside patio.

Hell, a few months ago, I was vaping right next to the pickup counter (on several occasions), and I was never asked to stop. Most of the time people didn't say anything although some people did look down to see what I was holding in my hand.

A good friend of mine is a coffee roaster. He always has really great beans and he'll roast after your order. So you get super fresh coffee from pretty much anywhere in the world. I may be biased, but I think it's the best coffee available. He's won several awards. Give him a shot. It's much cheaper that buying coffee at the coffee shop.

I'm not affiliated in any way.

I LOVE coffee. I've been drinking coffee since I was about 9 years old and all my relatives drink coffee.
Frankly if out and about I prefer Caribou Coffee over Starbucks by miles and miles.
Most times if I am going somewhere I make my own and take it with..but if I forget I will look for anything but a Starbucks.
After hearing what I did regarding their policies, they can count on me never coming in their establishments, even in a moment of desperation.

I bet there are going to be some seriously P-Oed people when they start mandatory drug testing to issue open carry licenses. :)

Come to think of it no so sure Its a good idea to get someone with a gun all jacked up on caffeine to start with.

Kinda ironic to me that the empire that is Starbucks was created on caffeine... And nicotine suspended in FDA approved substances are being banned by who else but themselves.... Seems a but hypocritical to me... Anyways no Starbucks for me, I'll put that $8 a day into my vaping fund and can buy a provari in just a couple of months, thank you Starbucks for the forced savings plan. Lol

After spending roughly $200/month on lattes, cappuccinos, iced tea, and iced coffee at Starbucks, I ended the work day with a large $0.99 iced coffee from Dunkin' Donuts. From now on, I will be frequenting Caribou, Dunkin' Donuts, and other privately-owned, local coffee shops. I won't even conduct business with the Starbucks kiosks in malls and department stores. I will not give a cent of my hard-earned money to a company that caters to not only the Progressive Left but also the FDA, Big Pharmaceutical Companies, and Americans for Non-Smokers' "Rights". I will not spend any more of my limited income on a business that ignorantly classifies electronic cigarettes as tobacco products comparable to traditional, analog cigarettes or blatantly suggests that water vapor is harmful to bystanders in the exact same way as tobacco smoke containing carbon monoxide, tar, and about 4,000 other chemicals, some carcinogenic. I believe that either the CEO is completely misinformed about the countless studies surrounding the safety of inhaling "secondhand" e-liquid vapor or he is being lobbied/bribed by an anti-tobacco/pro-Big Pharma affiliated organization, particularly with ties to the federal government.

However, I seriously doubt that local chains will comply with this new policy. Starbucks banned smoking on its outdoor patios at least a couple years ago, but nearly every local Starbucks chain I went to had either ashtrays or smokers' poles near the outdoor seating. Also, the 25ft rule is impossible to enforce since most Starbucks are located within 25ft of some other privately-owned business.

I had no idea that was how Starbucks felt. I frequent Starbucks and so far no one has said a thing about me vaping in there. I was vaping at the counter when I order my last drink in there. I guess the CEO and the employees aren't always on the same page.

In almost EVERY state that allows open carry it is recognized as a fundamental right, and NO permit is required. If you can legally buy and own a handgun in states like VA, NC, WV, PA, etc, you can carry it with no special, expensive government permission slips as long as it is in plain view in a holster.

Citizenship has it's privileges.

And BTW, I don't know of single state that requires drug testing for CC permits--not even fascist oligarchies like CA, NY, MA or MD. Probably because if they did, many of the leftist elitists who have them would be disqualified... ;-)

Concealed carry historically has been viewed as a crime--something that only rogues and criminals did. It's only in the last 2 or 3 decades that States have begun issuing special permission slips to allow law-abiding citizens to carry concealed. Before that, Open Carry was much more common in many rural areas.

Interestingly enough, in the virulently anti-gun states of CT, MA and MD, it used to be the law that all men of majority age were REQUIRED to carry when they went to church on the Sabbath, to defend against Indian attacks.

My, how times have changed... ;-)

my mom let me have a sippy cup of coffee at 1. she decided to let me taste hers and according to her I was "really grumpy" until I got my morning sippy of coffee. excellent parenting at work!

I would drink black gloria jeans (back before starbucks invasion) and have myself a mrs fields cookie when my dad took me to chicago malls @ 9, I worked in the coffee shop of barnes and noble for awhile, then worked at starbucks for several months when I moved to tx.

I would travel to portland about a week out of every month with my last job (hard on a single mom of 2 kiddos!) and I had LOTS of great coffee choices, but I really started to dig on peets. it was right across from hotel where i'd sleep and hotel where i'd work, had sitting areas to smoke, and the people were awsome.
100% positive they would have let me sit inside and vape had I started before I quit traveling there.
I do miss PDX something awful. esp with summertime bearing down on me here. LOL.

I rarely pay for coffee unless work is buying, but every now and then I'll take the kids for "kid coffee" as they call it (hot chocolate) and there really are no shops around me that are NOT starbucks :(
i'd kill for a carabu or peets or CP. but no. all I have is starbucks.
mom likes mcdonalds coffee, but I loathe mcds and probably have been inside one 3x in the last 20 years. and I don't think there are any dunkin around me. I don't like donuts so I haven't looked much...
and einsteins has ok drip, but I do not trust them to make coffee drinks. bagels are hella good though.

oh well :(
I ought to go stand outside and vape and DARE them to ask me to move. I'm not huge but i'm not a tiny gal either. I've been told i'm fairly scary when I want to be :)
