I am sad to be writing this, and sad this is where it's going...well I got my answer so I guess this is the conclusion to the thread(maybe not...but it is my conclusion, I am tired of debating)

Here is my story for those who want to hear it:

Here is the life story of my protege:

My protege was born in the second batch of proteges with tact switches. It was bought originally by a member here. When it arrived the tact switch was okay for an hour and began sticking. The member put the protege on classifieds and i purchased it from them. Before it got to me it took a journey to puresmoker for a new switch and was sent directly to me without ever being used. It arrived DOA. I paid $90 for it. I contacted steve who replied that he would send me a switch in the post.

I received a tact switch on tuesday and was delighted...until i tried to put it into my protege. The housing was too big for the tube! However you look at other issues this cannot be user error. I shaved down the housing for two hours(and sore fingers later!) and finally it fit the tube. I placed it in and fired it up. It is sticking. It works if i take a puff then unscrew the adaptor and atty...then rescrew and use it again. So it does work if you want to look at it that way? I was at least able to glimpse the possibilities this mod holds and see why there are positive reviews. This issue is dangerous however as others have said. I burnt my fingers and an atty(my fault but the fault as a result of a BAD PRODUCT).

I have implored Steve and Casey to send me another switch and have been reasonable with them and patient in their responses. Customer service was NOT an issue here it was the BAD PRODUCT received three times.

The issue has now become about customer service AND a bad product. Here is what I wrote to puresmoker and their response to me today(this is not by a long shot my first contact with puresmoker, ive been talking to steve 3 weeks now since i received my protege DOA in a respectful manner):

ME: I ultimately just want a working protege and I'm sure that's all you want for me too so I would appreciate some help in resolving this issue as it hasnt been working since I received it over three weeks ago and three switches later. What will the next step be in resolving the issue with the switch?

casey said something along these lines:

she talked to Steve about this issue, and he has said that unfortunately there is nothing they can do at this time. they do not service parts outside of the USA and Canada. she understood that the unit was originally purchased from them, but once it left this country, it was no longer under their warranty. Steve already shipped me a new switch, and that was already going outside of his normal policies. she apologized for the inconvenience, but cannot issue me any more replacements.

There is alot more I could write about this topic but you guys all know my thoughts already. I am sad, not angry, just disappointed that I have a protege I cannot use. On principle I cannot justify paying any more money to PS for a mechanical switch which steve advised me to buy(while he was popping the ill fitting tact switch in a bag for me that cost the same price?)The point in brackets is not to highlight that he knew he was sending me a faulty switch, it is to highlight that he was sending me a switch he doesnt himself fully believe in and advised me to BUY one instead even thoght the two switches both have the same value?

I do not want to hear responses like "mine is fine,sorry you had a problem" or "contact them again"(-i have replied to this email!) as this would add insult to injury. I just want to share my experience and give the supplier a chance to respond if they wish.

here is the warranty...there is nothing about international problems?

Warranty:

* Standard Atomizers (510/801/901) and standard Li-Ion Batteries (RCR123a/18650/14500) batteries carry a 7 day limited warranty.

* The PureSmoker Ace Carries a 14 Day Warranty on Batteries and Chargers. Atomz (Atomizers with Built in Cartridge, carry a DOA Warranty)


* The PureSmoker USB Pass Through carries a 3 month limited warranty.

*Prodigy and Protege hard parts (Adapters/Housing/Switch) carry a 6 month limited warranty.

* Bulk atomizer purchases do not carry any warranties.




We do not accept returns or exchanges on any of our liquid products (Liquid and Atomz)- regardless of whether or not they have been opened or used.

Based on what I've read, and also from reading the Warranty Info, I have come to the conclusion that I WILL NOT do ANY type of business with PureSmoker. Any vendor who will not stand behind their own product isn't worthy of my money. I'll stick with the vendors that I use now.

I'm really sorry to hear this though, because I have used the ProdigyV2 that CrashTestJeep has and thought I might order one. Looks like I will have to decide on a new HV Mod to buy.........maybe it will be a XHaler.....or another Chuck.....who knows.

Hey just-Cass. I feel bad for you. I do remember reading your post (forgot the name) about you deciding on which mod to get. I remember you were excited to receive your protege.

I have an offer for you. I now own two SB's and I love them and use them exclusively. About a week before I purchased my SB’s I bought an Xhaler (not a bad devise—copper colored one) and used it for about a week. You could not tell the difference between a new Xhaler and mine—it is in pristine condition (only used it for a week). I would be willing to give you my Xhaler (without batteries—I use them in my SB) free of charge. If you are interested, just send me a pm. I have the cartomizer adaptor and whatever other adaptor it came with (I forgot).

mwahle you brought a tear to my eye...not the first today...ive put up my political hat and have reverted back to emotionally ridiculous(thanks to grimm green!) cass....

I am tired of all this, it is just too frustrating. I am one person pointing out a flaw in a huge well loved company...perhaps problems were mentioned by others but not dwelled on before really as far as I can see it.


Dacoopah pmd me and asked about me having bought the protege second hand and what i wanted from puresmoker having bought it this way. Here is what I had to say:

He never mentioned I wasnt under warranty.


Perhaps he doesnt owe me anything but the same would have happened to the original customer undoubtedly and they may have got the same response?His tact switches are bad,his customer service is bad and its sickly sweet IMO.He kills you with kindness and thats how he gets away with it.Ive spoken with over a dozen owners today alone who have the same problem and he never offered them a decent switch?none of them got it used?

he is out to make a quick buck in my opinion and move on to the next buyer...I have backed up these statements with relevant evidence including him sending me a tact switch after i asked him about a mech switch. I asked him twice if he would consider giving mechanical switches to those who had VALID problems with their tact switches thus erradicating any further problems

perhaps this particular post of mine is more emotional but as i have said I hae put up my political hat and now speak from my heart.

WOW Mwhale that is so generous of you! People here are just to awesome! Just-cass, I'm so sorry that you had to go through that, I know it's gotta suck to get all excited about something and then be let down. Keep your chin up girly...there are people here that want to help you out and that is so awesome. :)

*AHEM*... read the pms bro. The 1st pm was for someone else, and the 2nd pm was saying n/m cuz it looked like cass was accepting it and I say good for her! :)

I LOVE my SB! Although... go figure.. chad is close to releasing his latest.

The OMeGa! Might just be the only mod that could displace my SB! :p
