So I decided it was time to give DIY liquid a shot. I read a bunch and found some good sounding and well reviewed recipes. I downloaded the "juice me up" calculator, that is one great tool.
My first mix was a Strawberry shortcake that was one of the stored recipes in the software. It came out pretty good and after a couple days was downright vapeable. I mixed up a 30ML bottle at 70/30 6mg nic and it is steeping as we speak.
Next was A Custard. Well, I found out right away custards aren't as easy to mix right the first time. They either came out tasting like butter, or just off and very chemical. Steeping a couple days made it better, but we will see what a week or two of steeping does before I try that again.
Next I found a very simple Mothers milk variation. Not willing to call it a clone, but a very nice variation just the same. 15% Ripe Strawberry (TFA) 10% Vanilla Custard (TFA) and 5% Graham Cracker (TFA). I put 10 drops of EM in for good measure. This was a shake and vape hit. My wife was so impressed with this she asked me to mix up a larger batch right away, which I did. I can't wait for that to sit for a few days so I can get into it.
So for my first weekend mixing, I'm proud to say I only dumped two batches and had four come out better than expected. I was very nervous getting into doing this, or at least doubtful I would be able to end up with juice I would like. I know I'm only at the beginning and I need a ton more flavorings to really get going. So many recipes call for flavors you would never guess are in there. If you are on the fence about giving this a shot I say go for it. it only cost me about 80 bucks in start up supplies (nic, syringes, bottles, a dozen or so flavorings, PG, VG) and I figure I'm making fluid for about 10 cents a ML.
