My Magma Build w/ Rayon - Perhaps a Tutorial to Some

Waiting for my Magma clone with high hopes and a little dread.(E-Bay???) I've been enjoying using Rayon wicks in my IGO-L and my Kraken rba for a coulple weeks and I'm a total believer.(Thanks again JeremyR) I can't wait for that Japanese Cotton Co. to put out their Rayon equivalent!

I'll be following this to help with my fist dual coil build effort. I'd like to see a higher ohm build using 28ga Kanthal but that's just me.

I bought one from there think it was planetofvape?? Top notch & great price

Ha! My first dripper was an authentic Plume Veil. From the first vape off the first build i was hooked!

nice tutorial JAX! its funny cause i just did that same exact build tonight before I saw your thread! Haha! I have the same coil winder and used the same 2mm size with 26 gauge with 9 wraps and I'm getting .4 ohms. You're right this thing gets way hot! I'm thinking it needs lower gauge wire than 26.

Just did a fresh build with 30 guage 1.5ohm single coil & using 10mg nic, 5 pulls & I gotta stop or the room starts spinning...I now can see why the sub ohm guys use 5mg nic not to mention the room is full of

But thank you more for posting pix! I'm an image guy and shots like yours above show exactly how to wick with this stuff. Somewhat thin tails. Good shoulders. Better than my job here. Good build. Nice job with the scissors.

[edit] It might even be better, by thinning the tails even a little more.

I need to experiment more with my Magma to see for myself.

Thanks for your kinds words brother! As for the tails being even thinner I'll never know since I cant take more than a two second pull on this sucker! Even multiple short pulls like that doesnt count as chain vaping and the wick never gets a chance to dry out! Ha! I do have to say im loving this rayon though in the drippers!!

I've not used the KGD but there's no comparison with the wicking abilities between organic cotton balls and rayon.

Just take a look at these 2 images. You tell me which one looks like it will wick better.

I have a coil winder and used an approximate 2mm mandrel. The kit came with a 1.5mm and a 3mm so I made my own out of a coat hanger.
