Ordered a new Lava Tube from Vapor Beast. Fast shipping, arrived in 3 days! Just under $70 with free shipping! Started vaping about 2 months ago. Started with the fake looking cigarette style ecigs & then a week later got a KGO. Love the kgo, but wanted to try a variable voltage mod. Never knew how fun vaping could be until I tried it, lol! This website is a great way to learn & get support to get rid of analogs & enjoy the vaping lifestyle!

Vapor Beast says it's the latest version with the 4 amps & metal end caps. I love how you can see what the ohm of the atomizer or cartomizer is by pushing the power button once.

Yeah, that one is really nice. I'm not so sure about that 4 amp claim though. I've heard people say the limiter is 4 amps, but I think that 4ams actually refers to the rating of the switch. They were having problems with some of the switches on the Version 1 and probably upgraded it. I'm pretty sure the actual limiter is more like 3.2 amps., which is still very close to what the Provari2 will do and plenty good enough to run 1.5ohm DC cartos.

Unfortunately, the units with the hybrid connectors are still the older 1.0 electronics. They'll probably combine the two and call it the Version 2 in a few months. Then, they'll up the amps to 3.5, call it Version 2.5 and there won't be any significant performance difference between it and the Provari. That's my guess anyway. Of course, I certainly won't expect Provari owners to accept that, whether it actually happens or not. Provari's have special voltage and make special watts only Provaris can make.

definitely not close to the Provari. i own both and so far there is no match to the Provari

Do you own the one with the higher amperage limit? Do you know how it's holding the loaded voltage with the newer electronics? If it is keeping the voltage up, there can't be all that much difference, assuming you don't exceed the current limit. There's one helluva price difference though.

I own the Knight rider which is the same as Lava tube v1 and did notice the switch definitely had current problems.
I proved this by operating a carto while I had it open to see the element and could control the brightness by the amount of pressure on the switch. Hope this is better with the new version.

Yep, I just did some more research on the new Ver. 1.5. Seems the current limiter is 3.2 amp and the switch is a 5 click on/off type, so I assume it's entirely different and could well be a 4 amp switch. That would pretty much solve all the switch issues I've heard about with the original version. I've been lucky so far and haven't had a problem with mine, knock-on-wood.
