Brand new vaper here (well, two weeks or so). Tried TB mod with some success. I tried this, fully expecting - as a newbie - to fail.
Not so. I probably used less liquid than I could have, because I was afraid of leakage. But I have a ton of polyfill, so I was able to make a nice tight "plug". So far, so good! No leakage, good vape.
Thanks. Even a newb can succeed with this one!

Great idea! I just tried this and so far, so good on a Joye 510.:D Also removed the little cover on the mouth piece and that helps a lot too. There was a damn POOL of fluid inside that thing, really surprised I wasn't getting a mouthful of fluid.8-o

May my Health E-cig rest in pieces.

Hmm...after a day using this I think I'm going to have to try another plug besides the poly. It's not wicking well, and I've tried varying it. I did have some success with sterile gauze yesterday that I used in a pinch. Perhaps that could work with this, but the poly isn't wicking as well as I would like and I'm getting poor flavor. *sigh*

Had the X-act same problem. One word. Fluval. And then use the two part setup to determine down to the snip how much. My juice use is up because it wicks wo well.

This is so good it oughtta be taxed........

I have tried this cart mod serveral times and it works in a pinch. It is the mod I recommend to newbs because it is easy to do and virtually no chance of flooding the atty.

BUT it still has the same problem as using the full length of the filler - the filler material does not properly wick the atty. Accordingly you get the polyfill taste in your vape. Might be okay if you take 2 or 3 drags and rest your pv for 5 minutes, allowing for the filler to re-wick the atty but for 'intense' vaping sessions ... It just does not work for me.

I am glad to read that most are satisified with it.

Sorry to say it but I am not getting the results with this mod that everybody raves about. I don't get it.

Let me see ... Using this mod the atty does not flood, I don't get the gurgling sound while vaping, no juice sucked up in the mouth but yet after 2 or 3 drags, done. No flavour, no throat hit, no vapour. This stuff does not properly wick the atty, period.

larktdl: It sounds like your plug is too long or too dense.

Using this mod there is a balance between flooding (plug too short or not dense enough), and dry (plug too long and/or too dense). Sounds like you might be leaning toward the 'dry' side, since you say you never flooded. Try cutting a little off your plug, and you should get perfect wicking.
You may have to play with your first couple plugs to get it right, but once you find the sweet spot, you can replicate it pretty easily.

My plug is based on the 1/2" length using the polyfill that comes with the carts. Don't get me wrong, this mod (as already stated) does work but not as good as I hoping for.

Frankly, I hate cart mods. You think that the companies that make the pv would actually come up with a filler that you don't have to mod. I wonder if the telsa filter that Mik over at Janty is working on will ever see the light of day and if it does, will it work the way he claims it will? Have to say that Janty came up with a good one with the eGo and 510 (the original designers of both products) so confidence is high.

Yours is in my top 3. I am open to suggestions. Since my post earlier today I bought a bag of the Walmart Polyester Quilting batting (that is what they call it up here in Canuck land) so I am going to keep working on it. If it doesn't work out, if you want, I can ship you the bag of it (lol). Enough of the stuff for 1,000 vapers ...

UPDATED: Since posting earlier tonight I have gone back to making this stuff work properly. I am now using the Walmart Polyester Quilting Batting. So far the results are good, need to evaluate further to determine if it is going to work properly over an extended period of time.

However what I am doing is a mod of a mod. Highping's Simple Cart Mod revised to use the polyfill as the plug resting on a straw.

highping: In one of your first threads on this post, I think (could be wrong here) you mentioned NOT to use blue foam. Well.....it's all I had at home and I tried it and can honestly say that it's worked wonderfully well for me.......no leaks, no mouthful of liquid and it lasts a fairly long time. Just thought I'd let you know that IF you did mention not using BF......I did.......your method rocked for me!

Thanks highping for this tip, tried it yesterday with my Sidesho and after some tweaking of the poly, it works great. I've only been vapping for three weeks but have tried all other mods with no success until I tried this one. I'm able to place my sidesho in any position without leakage and take a drag without getting juice in mouth.

BTW: it took me about an hour to get the poly filler cut & placed in the right position, had a lot of trial & errors but now I know exactly how to place the poly back in after refilling. Vaped threw a lot of liquid yesterday testing for leaks and mouth juice.

Thanks Highping I'm new to vaping 31 days and 31 days without any analogs I got myself a Joye 510 and was ready to chuck it because of the poor performance but due to your cart mod I'm getting amazing performance out of it so a couple of Joye 510's saved lol also works great on my DSE905 thank you again for making my vaping experience even more enjoyable.:thumbs::thumbs:

The poly is important to this method. If you try this with blue foam or something that porous, it's going to leak everywhere. Most ppl are turned off from the poly because it gets that burnt plastic taste. The only reason it gets that is because it gets dry too quickly. With this method it stays totally saturated, so no poly/burnt taste.

More like the 'BFM with poly cap', then take the BF out, so you are just left with poly cap. ;) It's actually closer to the spring mod without the spring (like d4rk3 said).

Theres really no need for the spring. If you push the poly in so it is flush with the cart, when you stick it on your atty the bridge will push it to exactly where it needs to be (regardless of the varying bridge heights).

Nice idea. Doesn't work for me though. The filler keeps getting pushed further into the cart once it makes contact with the bridge. I guess that's what the spring is for with the ADM cart mod.

See the quote above Papa...having the filler pushed by the atty IS part of what makes this a GREAT mod.
