BTW, I live in Essex county in New Jersey. If you ever watched The Sopranos, you've seen my exact whereabouts... And btw, do you know what happens to little Germans and Aussies when they come here uninvited?:eek::censored::thumbs:

Oh, my dear ! Sorry, Mr. Fogmust. I ve been only a little bit worried about your healthy. Good to hear all is pretty good. What have you done with Anthony ?

New Jersey seems to be a very good place for Don chickens with scared pants. Hahahahahuhuu

Have you had german in school ? Pretty good. The language of kings. You are learning...

Perhaps i have to steep it a little bit. I know only barcardi rum with cocoa cola in my youth. I dont often drink alkohol and I am beer drinker, hicks.

In the moment i am trying the hot ethanol extraction. In a few weeks i can taste 30 home made juices. Its very funny to do this. But you are right, it takes a lot of time, especially if you dont only make one extract. I have bought cigars yesterday to have all the flavours to be in heaven. Some virginia, orient and other tobacco juices are ready to steep now. In this moment I am vaping one that have only steeped 2 days, its Dark Virgina Flake from John Aylesburry. Its very good, the extraction with ethanol was very successfull. I love it. I am thinking about, how it must taste in 2 week or a month. Its the same quality as from Clay. I have not thougth that it becomes sooo good ! I am feeling like a real champ.

Now i am searching the best fire curred tobacco. I like the smoked latakia from Clay very much. The roasting notes are very good. I want this notes in my own juices.

Jonny feel entirely free to send some samples of your home made nets to Australia for appraisal :)

I am just starting to go through the home made nets I made a year ago, primarily with cigars. I am finding them to be a little lifeless and flat. I know this in part has to do with the type of cigars I used and their age at the time I purchased them, but experience has taught me that cigars generally are not as conducive to maceration as are pipe tobaccos. Cigars lack the casing and infusions that many pipe tobaccos have.

It takes certain types of cigars to create good extractions. Cigars with infusions like botanicals and hybrid liquids which are composed of a cigar extract and an added flavor whereby the cigar plays a background role. I find cigar extracts defy even some of the best vendors. I'm not much of a fan of Net.com's straight up cigar extracts including Excalibur but to take nothing away from Net.com, I find most NET vendors do cigars badly apart from Acid Blonde extracts which derive all their flavor from the botanical infusion encased into the cigar from the barrels they are fermented in.

Specifically, cigars such as most Nicaraguan and habana types don't fare well in macerated form.

The only vendor who seems to make good cigar extractions is Want2vape and this leads me to the conclusion that in order to make a good cigar NET it needs to be fairly concentrated at about 30-40% which will have the side effect of being fairly gunky. Adding ethyl maltol and other flavor additives will help as well.

Perhaps, if they are better. After my first extraction i was a little bit tooooo proud. I can taste the tobacco well but they are not strong enough at 15% reduced extract. They are "lifeless", good word. I am missing the smokiness of Clays nets. Perhaps i have only to wait or perhaps they will be not so good as i wished. I dont know. I hate the step of steeping. I want to know it yet, if it was successful or not. I will do my last 14 tobaccos with the hot ethanol extaction because i really need some latakia and other fire cured and than i will do some extractions with hot pg.

If i understood right what Str8vision has written in his thread, the hot pg extraction could make stronger nets, but they will have more gunk and the quality of the flavour could be not so high as at the hot ethanol extraction. This seems to be also interesting reffering cigars.

I am very interested in cigar extractions. To find the right method and the right cigars could be very difficult. I have opened a little thread. Perhaps i can get more ideas from people with experiences.

Do you know which cigars are the best for extractions ? Only Acid Blonde ? Str8 have extracted a rocky patel 1990 and it sounds good what he has written. I want to learn more about cigars.

Yesterday i have mixed 8 cigar extracts to juices. Because i dont know much about cigars i have bought different kinds. Honduran, Nicaragua, Brazil and others from black deep to blonde. The colour of all juices are green instead of brown.

Been awhile, so I decided to treat myself to some MOV goodness while they're on sale. Americano is my favorite MOV eliquid followed by Full Virginia Flake. Got a third bottle of Classic Country to round things out. So, on sale and a free Tobecco Hobo thrown in. Now that's another reason I like MOV, always a surprise in the bag.
LOVE Americano! And a great sale. I'm giving the Classic Country a try, plus their Blue Ridge.

Perhaps i will fly to ny sometimes for skydiving from the little houses there. I have seen the movie "the walk" with the tightrope a few days ago. The movie was just okay but the scene between the two towers was awesome. I have to look this in stereoscopic 3d next time. Skycrapers looks very powerful but i dont know, if i want to live between them. You are not able to see the sun. Its the same in New Jersey or ?

No, not at all, except for the downtowns of a few of the bigger cities - Newark, Jersey City, Trenton. For the most part NJ is very suburban and green. Many people feel as you do regarding the city, especially when they start families. Raising children in NYC is not always easy.

I second AnthonyB's comments Re. extracting from cigars.
One of My 1st attempts was using some old Sumatras that I'd brought back from the Philippines a few years ago. Results were ok, but no better! Later on, I was sent a couple of Habanas from someone on a UK vaping forum & had to go to 40 or even 50% to get the flavour....admittedly, they were only cold-soaked for 6 weeks tho'....
I did have more success (ie. stronger) with some Havana wholeleaf...but that was soaked in a 50/50, 24mg. Nico. base for a month & then filtered (only thru' coffee filter..) Both of these latter ones were 'coil-crusters'!

Thank you sir, good info. While I'm getting my order ready, can somebody share their opinion on the two Gypsy liquids? They do sound good, but I've never tried them... Wonder if I should go big with them.
Thanks!

Fire-cured Burley
Big Spirit
NS Brown
NS Dark
Organic Spirit
Speaking Spirit
Big Spirit
Smoked Latakia

This would be my must taste list: pure virginia (spicey virginia with natural sweetness), other virginias, the sun curred turkish (very interesting mild and spicey), dark fired 2 (strong dark with fired cured tobacco), the 3 crown (not very strong, but cigar), other burleys like the fist full of burley if you have liked the fire cured burley.

Do you have a favourit referring the liquids you have tried till yet ?

The only ones that I haven't tried yet are the Organic and the Speaking. Out of the remaining ones, I liked NS Dark, Latakia and the Fire-cured Burley the most. But anyway, since patience is not my strongest side, I already ordered the following:

1 of : Fire-cured Burley [Vial Size:120 mL - glass]
1 of : Gypsy Blonde [Vial Size:60 mL - glass]
1 of : Gypsy Brunes [Vial Size:60 mL - glass
1 of : NS Brown [Vial Size:60 mL - glass]
1 of : NS Dark [Vial Size:120 mL - glass
1 of : Smoked Latakia [Vial Size:30 mL - glass]

That's a total of what... 450ml? I guess go big or go home. :D

Germans, Italians, Australians being mentioned. The Natural Tobacco thread is getting interesting.

Fogmust - what happens if an Australian with Calabrian Italian ancestry comes to New Jersey? :)

Oooh, that's the worst, they never go back. :D Sicilian and Napolitan have a chance, but Calabrese... Sorry, we keep those in a safe place at the Meadowlands or around AC. :danger:
You've seen it on TV, so you know it's true.

Best wishes to you all! Even though it was 85 degrees today I'm trying to muster some Spirit of the Season.

Not quite "Christmassy" but, as an outside worker, I can appreciate it!

I got my EtherVapes Total Eclipse a few days ago, "born" on 12-12-15.

Any recommendations on optimal steep?

Happy (insert holiday of choice) to all of you!
