A couple years ago Titan Vapor did a Marlboro extract. Problem was they wanted $10 for 5ml. Looks like they're no longer in business, imagine that......

Well, I suppose all the additional additives from the Marb results in a higher value lol.

Vendors.. stick with additive free or premium cigs like American Spirit and Nat Sherman for the cig extractions. Please.

Gross. Two words...Big Spirit.

I haven't had a chance to enjoy steeped Big Spirit but my homemade American Spirits Organic cold extract rocks after a month of steeping. I basically get the same intense earthy aroma as when I crush the fresh tobacco between my fingertips. It's now as intense as Blue Grass Burley but without the woodsy smokey nuances. To me, American Spirit (especially the Organic one) is the pure expression of tobacco. I think Clay has an Organic version of this now too.

I just ordered these from Goodejuice. Never tried NET juice. Not expecting miracles but I'm hoping one of them will be to die for in my quest for a non-sugary tobacco like vape:

Wild Turkey
Natural Perique
Patriot
Acadian Gold

I think that was all I could find. And holy crap - I ordered these like 30 minutes ago and already got a shipping notification! Also used a 10% off coupon here at ECF. That's basically free shipping. :)

Thanks for thread peeps!

Most people seem to enjoy Patriot and hopefully you'll too. Natural Perique needs good steeping time 3-4 weeks minimum.

Good luck, GeJ is a perfect place to start when trying NETs, and yes, they get shipped in the blink of an eye lol. Hope you like a couple, be sure to let us know what you think.

Paaaaaaaaatriotttttttt <3

In other news, the russian 91% coop fell through. Terribly disappointed because I was intending to dedicate one solely for the patriot. (That juice makes aaaaany tank smell and taste like it no matter how I wash it out after)

But yes. Patriot. Me like.

What kind of steeping? We talking full-blown "lid off" steeping or just put it in a dark corner somewhere?

And 3-4 weeks? Hell man, I can't even remember where I parked my car this morning... how am I supposed to remember I have this stuff a month later?

Acadian GOLD -- very nice, smooth blend.

Speaking of GeJ: I loaded up some Organic #1 in an iclear16 and recalled what I loved about that liquid. I have neglected the poor thing of late, but needed something in my iclears just to keep the rotation up. I've been all about the Analog and GJ4 from GeJ and nearly forgot it. Speaking of which, I need to hit the Acadain GOLD again -- it's been a few months.

Take any steeping recommendations with a grain of salt since with any juice some will say it will be good right away and some will say it needs a lot of time. Only thing that matters is if it tastes good to you it's ready to go, if it doesn't set it aside to try again later. Keep the cap on, just remove it to try it which will get enough fresh air in to start the steeping.

Juices change with age, but that change doesn't mean it starts out bad for everyone or that everyone will prefer the change. Most mixed-to-order juices benefit from a couple days wait, but unless you plan on vaping it all in one sitting there's no reason to wait on a new juice.

Really glad you explained a bit about this steeping business. I guess it's not really possible to know if this Oak Barrel Cider will steep in the direction of the tobacco flavor or the sweet flavor, I'll just have to try it every now and then and see how the flavor hits me. I'm just a little disappointed, because when I first tasted this, I thought, hmm, this is familiar; but with more use, I taste that apple-cider flavor a lot, and that's not what I'm looking for, to try and leave off the cigarettes; I really think it's that "oak" I recognized, the tannic flavor. Maybe the sweetness will soften some, with age. I hope. :)

Thx,
Andria

I assume you're talking Pipe Sauce? I must've missed the original post.

If so, the only thing that may change with that liquid is your appreciation for it. That liquid, to me, stays exactly the same. Dry. Cider-y. Dry. And some mo' dry.

Steeping advice on HOW a juice changes can be pretty helpful. A person still has to find out for themselves if they like that change, but hearing what parts of a juice change gives an idea of what to expect.

For instance, Caramel Wild Wood eases up on the caramel a lot, becomes less intense, rich, and overbearing, and most will agree on that. Some absolutely love it fresh and others prefer it aged. In that case, if someone tries it and says they don't like how strong the caramel is, I can say with confidence to let it sit a few weeks and the caramel will be noticably different. With Natural Perique, I can say it got a lot funkier with age, for me that's a good thing for others maybe not.

I think the general statements like a juice NEEDS to steep for weeks are made too often. While for that person it may be true with that juice, it's not true for everyone.

I have some Oak Barrel Cider that was given to me. It's already very well steeped I believe so I can't compare it to fresh, but I'll drip some later and let ya know my thoughts. Mann should probably know how much that juice changes.

Yeah, I never thought OBC was any kind of tobacco juice at all. I actually don;t get tobacco from Long Bottom Leaf or Shire Malt either, but some say they do. LBL still is the only non-NET in my rotation other than A+ - W&A Sarsaparilla.

OBC is not tobacky and definitely not an NET. I personally didnt care for it. It was tasty, but not for me. I know people who swear by that juice though. It is ALOT of people's ADV

Yes, it's pipe sauce; it became clear to me pretty quick that VA Slims tobacco is like no other cigarette tobacco I've ever tasted.

Maybe the "dry" is what I recognized, along with the tannic bitterness -- it's almost identical to the way my VA Slims *smell* before you light them -- or if you stick your nose in the box. So, you say it'll get more dry? That would be a good thing; to me, although the smell is pretty good, tobacco-y, the taste is "apple with a side of cider"; slightly bitter, but too "bitter-sweet" -- I'd like a LOT less sweetness. And the throat hit is too soft. I'm hoping that steeping it will make it more dry/bitter, and less sweet. I was really hoping the liquids I ordered would get here today, but they didn't, durn it all; I'm thinking that even if the "Dirty Ashtray" flavor turns out to be a bit TOO "dirty," that adding some of it to this Oak Barrel Cider might give the tobacco flavor more intensity, and improve the throat hit - the liquids I ordered, after doing some questioning and reading RE: the relative merits of PG/VG, I ordered mine 70% PG, 30% VG, so they should have a good throat hit -- one of the most important aspects, to me, as even the ultra-light VA Slims have an excellent throat hit (not like the "smoking air" sensation of other ultra-lights I've tried).

Thx,
Andria

I should add this, to try and clarify my sense/appreciation of dry/bitter vs sweet -- I don't drink anymore, but when I did, I FAR! preferred gin to vodka or whiskey. A good drink, to me, was gin and grapefruit, though I left off the salt that would otherwise have made it a "salty dog."

If that tells you anything...

In my case, I put it in a dark corner after vaping it 1-2 times. When I first got it, I was very disappointed because it tasted like light soy sauce with a touch of vinegar :) So if you experience something similar, most likely steeping it will reward you with a complex fermented tobacco goodness, kind of reminiscent of a mild aged cigar wrapper.

Edit: I definitely agree with Jerms that it got a lot "funkier" with age. But initially it was Asian sauce went very bland :)

I'm going to did into St. James Parish tonight; RBFS's Perique. They are already aged 3 weeks before put up for sale, so should be good to go. Hopefully it's closer to fermented tobacco than soy sauce lol.
