Do you have a suggestion for a good VW device, affordable yet quality? 30 watts would be enough for me. I'd still use my 28ga Kanthal doing mouth to lung vapes, so don't really need much power. Also, I see 101 has the Subtank mini for $34, do you know of a better deal?
Unless you think you're going to want to purchase soon... wait. They are not only coming out with better tech all of the time, but ( to me ) more importantly more ergonomically shaped mods. The one I've been watching lately is the Kanger Subox kit but I hear they are ( or may ) going to add a self adjusting 510 pin on it. It's rounded front and back, so should be comfy to hold and as far as kits go, it's complete with a Subtank Mini as well as the Kbox Mini mod ( and spare parts also ).
Also consider doubling the amount of power you think you'll use... I can't say how many times I've thought "this is all the power I'll ever need" only to find out later I found something else that I like that also would work better with a little more power. I also like to have extra headroom in the power department so I'm not stressing the electronics... so if I were going for 30w or there abouts... I'd look at the 40w devices. If I was going to purchase right now... I'd repurchase the iPV Mini 70 again, I like the feel in my hand, it's got more than double the power I think I'll use and it's got a replaceable battery.
Another trend I'm seeing is the newer subohm tanks are able to handle higher power levels. The Kanger, to me, works great and is efficient in the 25w-30w range... but others are saying the tanks that have higher power requirements also have better flavor and/or cloud production ( I don't care for clouds but flavor is important to me ).
Another bit of info... IMO to effectively use more than 50w... you should consider a dual battery mod. A single battery mod using that much or more power will drain a single battery quickly. I personally don't care for a large sized mod in my hand and I'd opt to just carry an extra battery if it were needed... but I also can't argue with the facts that at higher power rates, more capacity is still needed and if I were to use the mod I use most now ( the iPV Mini 70 ) anywhere close to it's potential... I'd need more than just a single spare battery.
