Do you have a suggestion for a good VW device, affordable yet quality? 30 watts would be enough for me. I'd still use my 28ga Kanthal doing mouth to lung vapes, so don't really need much power. Also, I see 101 has the Subtank mini for $34, do you know of a better deal?

Unless you think you're going to want to purchase soon... wait. They are not only coming out with better tech all of the time, but ( to me ) more importantly more ergonomically shaped mods. The one I've been watching lately is the Kanger Subox kit but I hear they are ( or may ) going to add a self adjusting 510 pin on it. It's rounded front and back, so should be comfy to hold and as far as kits go, it's complete with a Subtank Mini as well as the Kbox Mini mod ( and spare parts also ).

Also consider doubling the amount of power you think you'll use... I can't say how many times I've thought "this is all the power I'll ever need" only to find out later I found something else that I like that also would work better with a little more power. I also like to have extra headroom in the power department so I'm not stressing the electronics... so if I were going for 30w or there abouts... I'd look at the 40w devices. If I was going to purchase right now... I'd repurchase the iPV Mini 70 again, I like the feel in my hand, it's got more than double the power I think I'll use and it's got a replaceable battery.

Another trend I'm seeing is the newer subohm tanks are able to handle higher power levels. The Kanger, to me, works great and is efficient in the 25w-30w range... but others are saying the tanks that have higher power requirements also have better flavor and/or cloud production ( I don't care for clouds but flavor is important to me ).

Another bit of info... IMO to effectively use more than 50w... you should consider a dual battery mod. A single battery mod using that much or more power will drain a single battery quickly. I personally don't care for a large sized mod in my hand and I'd opt to just carry an extra battery if it were needed... but I also can't argue with the facts that at higher power rates, more capacity is still needed and if I were to use the mod I use most now ( the iPV Mini 70 ) anywhere close to it's potential... I'd need more than just a single spare battery.

I'll second everything that Rdsok said. I use the Sigelei 100 at home, which is a great double 18650 mod but a bit too large to carry out and about. I use my ZNA 30 for on the go, and have a backup Sigelei mini 30W for when on trips etc. Single 18650 in that one. I use my ErlPrinz' with 12mg 50/50 juice at around 15W at home and pretty much all my Subtank Minis or open air-flow RTA's at around 20-25W with 6mg 50/50 juices.

I think the following is well known by most here but it won't hurt to mention them anyway...

As you go up in power levels, your wicks need to also be larger to handle the need for more e-liquid in order to keep the coils cool. Of course the additional air flow will also help a lot in this area.

Because you are going to be vaporizing more e-liquid... you're going to be using a larger volume of juice. You are also going to need to consider using a lower nic level due to the higher volume being vaped.

Jerms, I know you are looking for on the go, but as far as drippers, have you tried a Manta? I got one and I'm in love with it. Big atty that performs line a small atty. Super easy to build on and not too airy even wide open. Flavor is awesome.
Just looked it up and watched Todd's review, looks like a winner! I can't afford JDTech hardware, do you have a clone?

No, I actually splurged on an authentic. I have heard good things about the clone though... only complaint was some people felt the wire capture holes positioning was a little wonky on some. Seems like you and I have pretty similar vaping styles/setups, I think you would really dig it.

As far as on the go have you ever tried a bottom fed mod?

Subbox mini kit looks like a good option since I'd like a Subtank. I'd only get it if it had an adjustable 510 pin though. My only previous VW was a VAMO and the set pin was a major PitA.

Thought about it in the past, never took the plunge. Haven't considered a bottom-fed mod in a long time.

All I have used for a long time. I haven't even considered anything else I've been so happy with them. A lot more options are starting to show up too, a lot of them reasonably priced. Clones are starting to get in on it.

I've sold 4 of 5 KFL's. The last one is in my backup pouch along with my Provari Mini and neither have been touched in over a year. So, yeah, I think I'm done with the KFL's. It doesn't get easier or better than the Subtank Mini's for me dude. I've got a bunch of other RTA's (Aqua V2, ErlPrinz's, Lemo 2, Favotank) but the Subtank Mini's are the best combination of flavour and usability for me right now. Love them..

I regularly use the subtank nano because of its size and portability when I am commuting to work and in the office, however, when I am at home I like to indulge in the Vapeston Maganus/starre. Huge clouds and amazing flavour.

Though for all day vaping I am more like to stick with the subtank nano.

It didn't take me long to get used to the more open draw... but that is the first thing I think of when someone coming from something like a KFL as being possibly off putting.

The newer high power variable mods are almost a no brainer as long as the one being considered is a quality device. Today, many are now adding TC ( I call it temp limiting instead ) without it costing any more really... So even if that doesn't interest you now, it's still an additional bell/whistle that you may want to try later.

I haven't got any temp control devices yet. I've been waiting for the technology to improve and the price point to drop.

I think the new Evic VT 60 watt mod might be just the device to drag me into temp control. I had considered the Yihi Mini M Class which is probably the highest quality temp control out there but at $250 it's hard to conceive spending that much and my guess is devices of similar quality will probably sell much cheaper in coming months.

I didnt get a Darwin a few years ago for the same reason.

I haven't seen that TC has a price increase to it... using some top mods as examples... the VS rDNA 30w started at about $180 ( US ) and when the DNA 40 came out... the newer VS with that chip was also about $180. The Yihi SXMini original was $200, when they released a TC version of it, it was also $200. The VaperFlash was another example. On the low end, I'm seeing TC mods ( usually but not always Yihi chipped ) starting under a $1 a watt.

I'm not drawn to the TC mods yet myself... but price isn't the factor that stops me right now, I just don't need another mod yet and the TC feature doesn't appeal to me enough to invest in something at this time. I also would like to see some more improvements in the reliability of the tech... still I'll wait until something catches my eye design wise or function... or I just can't wait suddenly any longer :D

Watched Busardo's review of the Subox kit. That's really too bad about the fixed pin, as everything else sounds great. My drippers have drastically different connection height, adjustable 510 pin is mandatory. Hopefully by the time I can afford the kit Kanger will have added one.

Nice to see they updated the Subtank with tighter airflow option and a better rebuildable head. Like Phil, I really like the looks of the white matching tank and mod. Such a great price for everything it comes with, update the pin and I'm in.

Hey you guys, hope you all are doing well. There are over 600 pages in this thread and I'm sure the information I need is in there somewhere, but I was hoping you all could share your opinions. I'm trying to choose a couple NET tobacco juices, the only one I've tried was Legend from HHV and I thought it was quite good. Regardless, I'm trying to choose a few from the "A-Tier" list on page one in this thread. Could you post your top two from each of those companies? It would save me a lot of legwork and really help me out, I look forward to your input, thanks. :toast:

If you're looking for something great tasting out of the box, I definitely recommend goodejuice's Godfather. Taste is subjective, but it's great awesome flavor right out of the mailbox with no steep required for some awesome flavor. n-e-t.com's stuff is great I've finally discovered, but they require steeping times from a few weeks to a few months. So maybe buy one now and just don't even plan on vaping it until at least 3 or so weeks. GeJ's patriot, organic tobacco, wild turkey and perique are also good. Wild Turkey and Perique were tasteless for about 2-3 weeks. After a month they were awesome.

River bottom fog sauce was also good right out of the mailbox.

Thank you for your input. I'll be patiently waiting for others to chime in and then promptly make an order. I'm basically looking for an affordable tobacco that resembles a pipe/cigar with rich, complex flavor and not too sweet. Thanks for your time, I take it to heart. :)

I've tried NETs from Goodejuice (Analog tobacco and their NETl menthol are pretty good), Heathers Heavenly Vapors, Ahlusion, but my favorites by far are from Naturally-Extracted-Tobacco - I don't do big clouds, I mouth to lung hit, so I get the 70/30 pg/vg at 24 mg nicotine. All of these improve by seeping a week or too (I open cap and let breath a minute, close cap, shake, couple of times a week, the first week, the flavor continues to improve the next week, shake before using.). -

Naturally-Extracted-Tobacco brand favorite eliquids:
Red Virginia- closst thing to a cigarette crisp "bite" I have had, I think the extra heat curing of the tobacco leaves gives it that added cigarette paper burning with tobacco flavor. I Alternate vaping this daily with Pure Virginia.
Pure Virginia- Smooth, robust flavor, typical Virginia tobacco.
Organic Spirit- Smooth, full flavor, organic tobaccos. One of my daily vapes.
Turkish - smooth, camel cigarette style flavor. I vape it for a nice change.
Air cured burley - light cigarette type tobacco, smooth nice taste, I often mix this with a little more robust flavors.
I've tried a lot of others, that I enjoy on occasion, and sometimes mix.

Whatever companies NET's you chose, I highly recommend you buy several small trial sizes of different tobacco extract flavors, and find the ones YOU like before buying larger size bottles. Good luck!

I've got a tonne of RBFS from around October. It's now in the fridge as I expect it will take me a while to vape but I can vouch on RBFS liquids vaping well after 6 months.

I'd suggest giving them an "airing" ~4-6 weeks before you're ready to vape them, refrigerated and stored in glass bottles will keep them in a "just made fresh" state.

Add; Once I open a refrigerated bottle of e-juice it stays out, refrigeration is only for long term storage of unopened or freshly made NETs. My NET extractions on the other-hand are kept in the kitchen cupboard and allowed to age. I remove my refrigerated unopened bottles of juice 4-6 weeks prior to vaping and air them to begin the steep process and acclimate to the surrounding temperature.
