Been awhile, so I decided to treat myself to some MOV goodness while they're on sale. Americano is my favorite MOV eliquid followed by Full Virginia Flake. Got a third bottle of Classic Country to round things out. So, on sale and a free Tobecco Hobo thrown in. Now that's another reason I like MOV, always a surprise in the bag.

I have tried today my first home made juice, it is full virginia flake from S. Gawith. It tastes very good after only 1 day steeping with 15% extract. I am very proud ! Call me Clay, pleeeasase...

I know this has been discussed in this thread before, but I want to put a little bit of a different twist in it and ask a question:
The general consensus seems to be that Black Note juice is good, but not $29/30ml good, and it's more of a marketing ploy than a really special liquid.
Now, I became a fan of BN after I bought the notebook, and I am thinking of reordering, HOWEVER, the price is indeed steep.
So, my question is the following: If somebody here is a BN fan also, which one of the lower cost vendors' products compare to Black Note? Net.com?
I definitely don't want to overpay, but at the same time I just dumped probably a quart of experimental and impulsive purchases and I don't want to end up doing that again.
Your help and insightful input is greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Edit: I've already tried GEJ - analog and that didn't quite do it for me. Same for HHV - had 2 samplers and found them to lack TH and flavor.

Couple of things...black note are lovely juices and they have the advantage of being light on your coils. Subtle flavours that grow on you. The price is pretty much standard for premium juices, certainly here in the UK, maybe a couple of pounds sterling extra on a 30ml bottle. All that marketing has to be paid for and staff wages etc. a question of overheads...and after all they are of course a business.

Net.com are as Jonny says much more robust and dry. However for me I could only get 2ml maximum before I had to change my coil. As a result I am awaiting my first rebuildables, it is imo the only way to vape these juices.

Net.com have a really interesting range, so many flavours, it really is like a vaping tobacconists. Well worth trying.

Something not mentioned, the level of filtration used by black note must cost a fair amount of money. Though of course, the downside is a sweeter and less authentic liquid.

I hope, assuming net.com work in rebuildables and I get the hang of making my own coils/dry burning and rewicking, to vape net.com at home via rda and rta, and black note and HoL el puros on the move with prebuilt nautilus and gs coils.

Mention to HoL El Puros, this sits somewhere between black note and net.com for me. Also fine for your standard prebuilt coils.

Thank you very much, your comment is well thought out and very helpful. I use exclusively rebuildables and coil gunking is not a big concern, as long as I don't have to rewick more than once a day. Apparently my palate is very refined:D, cause I never thought that BN juices lacked flavor. I only had very hard time distinguishing between the 3 or 4 that I liked the most.
But If there's more flavor and less sweetness in NET's juices, that's even better. My sampler order went in yesterday, hopefully I'll have it some time this week.

I'm trying hard to turn my subtank mini into a decent MTL tank by switching the drip tip to a narrower throat tip and replacing my V2 RBA with the V1 RBA with the narrow channels at the bottom. I vape 70pg/20 vg 18mg Nic at around 10 to 12w. Still in the trial stage...

I find the 1.2 ohm coils really help.

Currently using the vocc subtank coils in 1.2 ohms. The wicking holes are tiny in comparison to the original horizontal subtank coils. This is good for mtl. But bad for anymore than 50 percent vg, I burnt the cotton in two coils, in very quick succession, using Hedons bite juice (think it is 70 vg), that was at 15-16 watts.

I can see why the cloud chasers hated these replacement coils...

Using 50/50 juice right now and it is good for mtl with all airflow settings upto 15 watts. Plenty of vapour, good taste and reasonable tension on the vape. After that risk of dry hit!

Got some of the new vocc on order, they are cylindrical, again 1.2 ohms. Much bigger wicking holes. Be interesting to see if I can mtl on them.

No problems. I also struggled to differentiate with black note at times, there is certainly a 'house' style to their juices. Adagio, Legato & Bravura were my favourites.

My palate is obviously not refined as I would love it if their juices were double as strong!!!

But then I drink heavy red wine, hoppy hoppy hopped ipa's, eat chilli packed with dried and soaked chipotles and habaneros...

If you get a chance try House of Liquids El Puros. It is the first net I tried and still my favourite...think it is available in the usa...

My net.com first order...juices improved considerably after around 2 weeks from mixing date on the bottle. I am currently awaiting a new delivery and plan to leave for 2 weeks?..with the transit time to UK that will be a three week steep...just in time for Xmas!

Hope you enjoy your order.

I had the 1.2 ohm VOCC coils and really liked the flavor but those had leaks out my air holes with my high pg juice and low power 10w vaping style. did lots of tests to make sure it wasn't coil oring seals etc. the v1 RBA with the channels at the bottom are working for me so far.

I was using the Nautilus Mini 1.8ohm when I was introduced to the world of NETs. The convenience of replacing coils when needed was surpassed by the annoyance and cost of constantly replacing coils when needed which lead me to rebuilding. There was a marked improvement in flavor once I got the coil building working.

I dry burn/rewick on average once a day and typically have two RDAs going at the same time. NET.com, MVJ (which is another great vendor you should investigate especially for pipe tobaccos), EV, GeJ juices all perform well in RDAs with KGD and or rayon.

There are some good atties ranging in price that are flavor focused. If you haven't read through the RDA threads it could be very helpful in narrowing down what you might want to get.

I'm curious to hear your reaction to RDAs once you get up and running.

Hi Tele. Ended up,with a Kayfun Lite Plus, a Freakshow mini authentic and a Snapdragon styled (came highly recommended from another forum). Had a 25$ gift certificate for fasttech, so only paid for the kayfun lite. All are flavour focussed I am told.

It will be a while till I get the two rda's mentioned but the kayfun ought to arrive by end of week from Germany.

Ordered myself some 3 and 4 mm kanthal, cotton bacon, rayon cotton and ekowool. Also a few relevant tools - multimeter, ceramic tweezers, kayfil tool, coil jig...oh and some rather decent looking orebuilt coils to get me started.

Hoping the kayfun being a tank copes with the nets, but with the kayfil tool I can get to the deck without dumping the tank so ought to be ok.

Looking forward to it, going to be fun. My net.com order ought to arrive soon, will let them steep till Xmas while I practice wicking and building.

The original subtank vocc's are certainly tempermental. Working fine with 50/50 juice for me, but I cannot go above 16 watts woth my vaping style, good on all airflow settings mind.

Have some of the new round ones with larger wicks on order, Fasttech mailed me today to say sending rest of shipment as they are still waiting for them from supplier. I only hope this is not because they haven't been released yet!

Not happy with fasttech, can cope with the waits, but they sold me two dud mvp20s, both initially stopped working at 3.6 volts battery charge. As good as refused a refund, didn't trust them to acknowledge dud batteries if I posted back to Singapore, managed to get them to give me 25$ credit. Now one of the batteries has started misreading the ohms on attys - it's destined for recycling.

Coils only for me in future, too much grief to send stuff back to them, will pay the extra for mods or expensive tanks.

Fasttech is a learning experience. Some of the junk they sell can quite literally kill you. Lead paint on the "Kanger Type" sub-tank frames, not to mention the plating on aluminum mouthpieces. Once you realize your only going to get quality by purchasing the real deal Fasttech ain't that big of a savings. They're good for some things but most of their stuff is best to pass over.

Angelcigs is a little better but if you have a problem or something is DOA your in deep doo-doo.

Most newbies don't realize that a lot of the stuff they buy at US pricing is the same exact product you buy from Fasttech.

Moral of story, "Buy the real deal."

Exactly. Thing was with the mvp20s they were 'authentic' and I have no doubt they were, just that I think they were in fact authentic seconds I.e faulty. Prices for prebuilt attys are at least half of what I pay in the UK, so worth it for them, if authentic.

I got some prebuilt coils from eBay when I first started and from Fasttech. Be sure and check on the multi meter. I got a couple of wacky ones. I have a Freakshow Mini also. Good flavor for the price just watch your filling level because it has a tendency to leak.

Sounds like you headed in the right direction! Congrats.

The prebuilt coils I get from fasttech are for the nautilus and Gs tank.

The ones for the kayfun and rda's are from signature tips - they look extremely good, all be it very expensive, note sure why but trust they will be good...

Signature Kanthal Coils 28 AWG - Signature Coils - Signatures

Of course I will still check the on the multi meter before installing on the deck...thanks for the reminder.

The Igo-w series are great for flavor. Tight air flow though, which I like, though I think that puts me in the minory.

Sent from my SM-T320 using Tapatalk

I use an IGO-W for tasting testing new batches and flavors on a daily basis.....it's same single air hole IGO-W purchased when I discovered drippers years ago; wish I had a couple more, but I can't find the single hole version sold anywhere today.

Well thanks for the warning on the batteries from FT. I did have good luck with a kayfun lite V2 I ordered from them, I read the reviews and picked one that cost more than others (a true 1:1 clone) and it's very good quality. Took 6 weeks to get it. Another order took 4 weeks so I don't order things I want quickly from them.
