All over the place
One of the very few towns surrounded by a city. Hamtramick is another one? Need help with that one. I heard HP is Trash City USA now. And it's been that way a long, long time. I have pictures of it with my Mom holding me when I was a baby (yes, photography existed back then). All the homes were fairly new, kept up nicely, clean...just your typical post war, starter home community with young families. We have friends near Detroit that we've visited a number of times. Now and again we'll go to Detroit. It's a total ghost town. We'd have lunch downtown and there's little traffic. Having spent 38 years in Chicago, I'm used to bumper to bumper, horns blowing, people cussing at each other. Downtown Detroit is as quiet as a rural farmtown.

I don't know when the last time you've been, but there are new businesses going up all the time downtown now. The city is not short on its problems, but I am always down there now looking at stuff like  when did that go up? The huge focus is starting from mid town )WSU area) out up to downtown and around. I know a lot of people in Hamtramck and that place is such a diverse population. Hamtramck has a ton of artists and musicians living there, as well as Detroit...HP, not so much.

That's good to hear. I haven't been to downtown Detroit in probably 10 years. We had lunch in some eatery near the GM building. And it was dead. Hope they can keep rebuilding. I heard their population went from 2.1 million to now only about 700,000. Wow! It was a vibrant city at one time so let's keep our fingers crossed it continues a rebound. My folks also lived in a town called Berkely. Is that a hell hole too? I think I was born in Wayne County Hospital but not sure.

Berkley is great. One of my best friends is from Berkley, but he is not so great. He is currently in rehab, so lets hope for him.

Man, 10 years ago is forever in Detroit. But in some parts, 10 years is a day just like yesterday.

Anyway, I am about to vape some PGMET (no vg in this maceration extraction). LOL. I got my new WL and FC just now. Check back at some point.

Just got my GeJ order in today and got me there bargain pack of 5 atties for $14 bucks and have already dripped Patriot,Wild turkey,Nat Perique,Fire cured and let me tell ya this 1 atty works great so far who knows how long it will last but at less than $3 with code not bad.

And for the juice so far can u say real tasting TOBACCO,this is what I've been lookin for.Right now can't tell to much difference between the ones I've tried but sure I will after they steep a little but pretty dang good out of the mailbox. Also it maybe that I'm going to town on these just getting them and all but I can't chain vape these like regular flavored tobacco.Has anyone noticed that with NET's?

Well back to trying the rest of them after my head stops spinning. Not the first time trying NET's I tried Vaperite about 2 yrs ago but don't remember them giving me this true of a tobacco taste.Hopefully these juices will work good with DC cartos because I have a ton of them.

They don't need much steeping at all IMO, a few days to a week is probably more than enough. Except GJ4, it's good out of the mailbox, but just keeps getting better and better. If you wait on GJ4 to fully steep, you might never vape it. ;)

I hate you didn't get Apple Cured, it's good stuff (although easily the least tobacco-y of the GeJ tobaccos).

mmmmmm... Montecristo maceration! If that were mine I'd seal it up and allow the infusion to soak in some PG for at least a few weeks (well, maybe a few tastes along the way) :). Good luck, please let us know your results!

I don't want to overcook it so I'm only going to cook it in the slow-cooker at night, not for days on end as Chief Tech was doing. I'll need to strain it in a "chinois" or some other superfine metal strainer.

For home use, I would lean more toward EAET as opposed to PGVGMET. I have done PGVGMET and it tasted like NADA.

Dude, be kind. Explain ;) I just saw the words "crock-pot" and "tobacco" and jumped in my stupid impulsive way.

I guess I was just saying that pg/vg soak didn't yield me much in the way of flavor. Perhaps the tobacco wasn't potent enough, perhaps theVG is poor at releasing flavor, but I don't really know anything about ethyl alcohol extraction aside from wizards and such being extracted that way ;). One of my fav NET vendors uses straight pg (for several weeks) and his tobaccos are said to very potent from the start which yields greater flavor. Your biggest concern would then be to figure out a filtration method afterwards.

How'd you do with House of Liquid extraction, Mr.M?

Hypothetically speaking of course:blink: where would a person procure ethyl alcohol? Do you need a license of some kind?

Ethyl Alcohol (AKA Ethanol, Pure Grain Alcohol, Neutral Grain Spirits) is the "consumable" alcohol found in alcoholic beverages. Brand name Everclear is sold over the counter (where legal) and is available in 150 proof and 190 proof (75% and 95% pure Ethanol respectively). 190 proof is illegal in at least New York, California, and Ohio. Known to be legal in at least the non-dry counties of Kentucky and Tennessee.

EDIT (From Wikipedia):

In the United States, it is illegal to sell 190-proof Everclear in California, Florida,[3] Hawaii, Iowa,[4] Maine, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Montana, Nevada,[5] New Hampshire, North Carolina,[6] Ohio, Virginia, and West Virginia

It is legal to sell 151-proof Everclear in California, Florida, Iowa,[4] Michigan,[7] Minnesota, Nevada, North Carolina, Washington, West Virginia, Wisconsin, Ohio, Tennessee, Michigan and other states.

I did a 7 day and a 14 day soak in pg/vg equal parts. Both yielded little to negative flavor. I am not sure if you had it or not, but I would send you what I have left.

Hey Bronze, if you want to see some action in Detroit, it is a huge party tonight! Go Tigers. Gotta get back.

Any thoughts here on the filtration? That cheesecloth business is a little too simple and not very effective.
