Got my GeJ order today. shaken, caps off, they smell good, not chemical/perfumy at all. How long do I have to wait before I can start drip testing?????? I'm patient, really. GJ4, Wrangler Light, Vita Bella, and Apple-cured tobacco.

Am I done steeping yet?

You may proceed! Just don't vape it all for at least a month. ;) Check back...

Alright I need some suggestions from you tobacco pros. Trying to help my dad quit smoking and need some suggestions of cig similar juices (he's currently smoking Carltons, I know he doesn't like Camel, maybe Winston/Marlboro flavors would be alright? No idea lol).

I've already tried a few flavors from Heathers Heavenly Vapes. Dragon Fire tasted like "cardboard", Huntsman overwhelmed him, he could handle Dark Horse although it wasn't his favorite, and Heavenly Tobacco was ok but he's not a fan of the sweetness (so I guess no RY4 flavors). The above flavors were sampled on Genesis style with hot spots on the coil so take that for what it's worth (I was wondering why he kept describing everything as choking him or burning, just got advice from someone to readjust the coil for him so we'll see if that changes anything lol).

His preferences are the less taste the better and he'd prefer the vapor not to have much aroma (stealth vape if you will).

Help me help him drop his analogues forever. :)

I've been looking at "Organic Flavored Tobacco" from Vaporite.com and "Natural Tobacco" from PrimeVaping.com but don't know if either of those fit the bill as described above (or if there are better out there).

Fire Cured and Wrangler Lite from GoodeJuice at the highest nic you think he could handle. I vape 32 mg from GeJ but from most others 24 mg or 18 mg.

I crossed out your suggestions that I thought were no good. Just my opinion, but I have had them and I wouldn't bother.

He will NOT find a cig juice per se (though W2V Paris could work if it wasn't such a freakin' hassle on coils), but those juices will be very much enlivening (especially Fire Cured) and Wrangler Lite should have a familiar effect.

Hmm. Vaping does real good with replicating pipe and tobacco. It's very poor to non-existent at replicating cigarettes. I'm afraid your Dad will be disappointed if he's trying to get that cig-a-like flavor. If you can get him to bend a bit and have some patience, I think you can get him hooked on one of the many excellent cigar/pipe NETS from GeJ, W2V, QNJ, or Ahlusion. Sampler packs might be the best way to go and let Dad try a bunch of different ones. My experience is limited with some of the tobacco-strong NETS. But I can say GoodeJuice and Quick nic Juice are two good vendors. GeJ has Vita Bella, Natural Perique, and several other straight up tobacco flavors. I find them a bit on the strong side. QNJ has a couple milder NETS, Grandpa's Nightcap and Haban Daydream. If you're patient, you will get more advice from some of the other regular posters from this thread. Good luck with your Dad. I know you badly want him to quit smoking. With some help here, there's hope.

p.s. Maconi, you could also buy him a high mg of Tampa from Vapor Staion. I have been vapping it today and it is pretty good. It's not an NET and I have had this 5 mL for months, but it could possibly work really well. Another non-NET that may work is Halo's Freedom or GoodeJuice's Full Throttle.

Fire Cured and Wrangler Lite are still my most confident choices followwd by the other 3 non-NETs.

What is steeping?

Not vaping the whole bottle in a day. LOL. It is just giving your juice time to age -- aging helps the juice mature, meld, mellow or intensify (depending on the juice), blossom, and evolve into what it should be. Most juices (most, I repeat) should not be judged until at least a month after receiving. If we are talking Chinese juice that has been sitting for who knows how long, then that is different; but if we are talking American made fresh juice, then it, more often than not, needs time -- some, if not a lot, of juices are fine to vape immediately, but most will get better with time i.e. steeping. How much time will depend on the juice and ultimately your taste.

Thanks for the responses. I should mention he's currently smoking Carltons which are super ultra lights (1mg of nic, or maybe even less, don't remember). So whatever juice I get will need to stay somewhat relevant at super low nic levels.

It doesn't HAVE to be a cig flavor, I just assumed that would be the best route to go. He doesn't like sweet, strong flavors, or strong aromas in the vapor afterwards. Anything that's mild/a bit dull even and has little to no vapor smell would likely fit the bill just fine.

PS
What's NET?

Wow. As it relates to smoke juice, it's the process of the flavor molecules bonding to each other. It can vastly change the taste of your smoke juice. As a rule, when you recieve your smoke juice, you should take the cap and dripper off the bottle and let it remain uncapped for a couple days to allow the extraction alcohols evaporate. Then you can recap the bottle and let it sit for another week. Additionally, you should shake the bottle vigorously at least once per day. This will attain most of the steeping but it will continue to steep beyond a week too.

What's NET?

NET = Naturally Extracted Tobacco, not "tobacco" flavoring

Another idea considering that he is smoking ultra lights... Would be to get his juice with higher levels of VG to reduce the flavor slightly, and/or actually dilute the juices with some unflavored juice (PG/VG). Or if the vendor does custom mixing... You could ask for less flavoring in the comments section of your order.

If you go too low, my fear is that it won't hit hard enough and subsequently will NOT register as enjoyable. The key is to get him off of cigs, enjoying a good vape, and then lowering nic (IMO). Going from inhaling anything burning to vapor is going to leave a void -- the nic helps to bridge the gap.

p.s. It should always be pointed out that nic is not the devil, the devil is the devil -- hence fire. :smokie:

I agree with Mann about the nic level, go high on that... Just try to find a way to cut the flavor so it doesn't turn him off. I had gotten myself down to a pack of Camel Lights a day, but it took me chain vaping 18mg to totally kill the cravings. That would seem high coming off light cigs, but it wasn't... I had no symptoms of overdose on the nic at that level, and it got me the throat hit I needed to mimic the sensation. If he needs the sensation of smoking still, then keep the PG level high enough to give it to him, but cut the flavor in the juice. I still can't deal with juice that is over 50% VG or less than 12 mg of nic, because it feels like I am vaping flavored air. But I can understand the flavor being strong to him, considering what he is smoking currently, which is pretty light compared to vaping. Just some thoughts from a rookie out in left field, haha.

Go with Mann's juice suggestions for sure, the guy has tried everything under the sun ;)
