It's a mystery! FWIW, W2V D&C told me that Campfire Coffee, Pure Smoke, Morley, RY4, and Smokey Clove were NET hybrids, while Rock Star does not have a NET base.
RPad,
I'll go with your info. It goes with what I always believed anyway---that Rock Star is made with synthetic tobacco flavoring. I'll remove Rock Star from the NET-based RY4 category group.
I love it when, without being told one way or another, it is just too damned hard to tell. Rock Star kinda had that TE taste to it (from what I remember).
Mr.M,
My palate is fairly sensitive to TA and TE. tobacco Absolute, with its oiliness and alcohol base, is usually easy for me to pick up and distinguish. tobacco Extract, which uses a PG base and has a more neutral, sort of "blunt" taste, is more difficult for me to identify, especially when used sparingly in a hybrid along with either an NET or a synthetic tobacco flavoring.
To me, Want2Vape RY4---both retail and DIY flavoring---tastes like a TA/TE/synth hybrid rather than a straight NET. Rock Star? I don't know.
Rock Star definitely has an odd flavor component. I think it's what boomerdude tasted as beer. For that matter, w2v RY4 doesn't have what I'd call a "standard" RY4 flavor profile. It's closer to normal than Rock Star, but they both lean toward the idiosyncratic side. I always assumed that the odd flavor note in both juices was probably from an unusual caramel flavoring. Either that or a very wonky vanilla.
