What's up Nomo. I'll field the Smooth Criminal. I really haven't seen a lot of adoration about SC, just some on the Ahlusion thread, but I don't read all of ecf sections. I think I'm one of only a couple on this thread that has talked about it in a good way. But I can sure tell you why I adore it.

First of all, I don't think there's much to get with this juice since it's fairly straightforward. If you're not crazy about it by now you probably won't be. I can definately see it as a juice that many would like but not be thrilled by. It's a sweet tobacco that get's less sweet with age. It doesn't have much wow factor. But as a sweet tobacco, it's easily my favorite for that type. Just a smooth, tasty tobacco with some sweet. I can easily vape it anytime, in any device, and greatly enjoy it. I haven't had Dragon's Fire from HHV yet, but it's on my list!

Hey, thanks Jerms. I was counting on you to offer a point of view and you know I value your thoughts.
I'm sure you've read this thread but you might not remember all the hype several months back here and on Ahlusions thread. I was just kind of having fun but I really have been waiting for four months for this juice to shine for me. Inconsistent! Every vape session (and there has been more than 20) had one or two tokes where I said 'ah, I get it' only to be followed by 'WTH'. What's that saying... taste is so subjective. I hate that saying but I guess it's true. Get ya some Dragons Fire!

I'm kinda enjoying all this no holds barred, brutal honesty this evening. While we're at it, could someone try to explain why Smooth Criminal gets so much seemingly inexplicable adoration? I have tried and tried again but I just don't get it. I don't think there is anything wrong with it but I bet it would rather be Dragons Fire. ; )

I actually didn't care for Dragons fire one bit but id love to help you out with Smooth Criminal if you've given up on it, it's easily in my top 10 juices for sure!

Tis very true about taste. Even though 2 people may taste the same juice in the same way, for one it may be a taste they love and for another it may be meh.

I'll be sure to include DF in my upcomming order with HHV. I have a LOT listed I want to try from them, but my problem is they are pretty expensive for small 6ml bottles, but get cheaper with bigger bottles. I would like to get 6ml of all I want to try, but since it's only $3 more for more than twice as much I'll stick with 15ml. If I got them all at that size it's more juice than I want going with one vendor so I'll have to spread all the flavors out over time. Same issue with Ahlusion (though my list is huge with them) but at least it means I'll get to try new juices from two great vendors over a long period. I just hope something doesn't happen that stops them from selling before I get to try all I want to!

Jerms, you haven't tried Dragon's Fire? Mein Gott! Get on it, friend! And get some Serendipity and Dark Horse while you're at it :D

I know it! I'm so behind on HHV. Funny thing; Serendipity, Huntsmen, and Pirate's Booty I've been looking forward to for a while, and now DF, but lately it's been Jiggy I'm really excited to try. That's the only one I plan on sticking with just 6ml though. Heavenly Tobacco I'm also planning on since I've started on an RY4 kick. So many choices! I'm actually also planning on getting the "original" RY4 from Janty this next juice binge. Even an artificial Chinese tobacco will get to play with my upcoming NETs.

Edit: had my juice names confused.

Ya Jerms! I'd truly enjoy reading your thoughts on some of my favorites. I hate the thought of sounding like a fanboi but HHV holds three positions in my top five. Serendipity, Gandalf and Dragons Fire. Order the larger bottles! :) PM your address and I'll shoot ya some well steeped stuff and you can reciprocate with something I don't have. I don't buy much anymore because I have so many I really love already. I guess there's always room for a couple more though. :)

i find the ahlusion non aromatics a bit too sweet for my taste -- and the fruit ones faint of flavor -- only tobacco i do enjoy from ahlusion is vurley -- but they have boba tea and sweet cherry something and blue fairy and many more on my faves list -- did not go for ravyn by aiv -- and glad i did not -- guess hhv just hits the spot for me in the tobacco flavor department -- liked gej but not enough

my honest opinion :2c:

Couldn't agree more. However, if others like SC, more power to them. I just don't get it. Not the first time or the last though. :)

And as an old Marine colonel once told me..."And this is what makes the world spin around".

SC is horrible to me and DF is my favorite! :D

Enjoy your SC TCP!!!

I just ordered RY4 and 7 Leaf Tobacco from ECBlends. Any thoughts on those? It will be my first time trying those.

Also, Ive been on the hunt to find a tobacco that closely mimics the NJOY King flavor.
If anyone can point me in the right direction I would be sooo grateful!

Hey moto2000!

Both flavors from ECBlends are artificial tobacco flavors. This thread is about flavorings made from actual tobacco. The NJOY tobacco would be artificial as well. You may want to check out Dekang Tobacco (aka DKTAB) for a flavor close to the one you had before.

Jerms,

I'm not at all sure what Heavenly Army is, but I can tell what it's not: It's not an RY4. Heavenly Tobacco is HHV's RY4. Heavenly Army is, uh, something else.

Can you tell that I'm not fond of it? Well, I'm not, but that's a separate issue from its not being an RY4. Of all the juices I've had from HHV (Dark Horse, Dragon's Fire, Gandalf/Legend, Heavenly Army, Heavenly Tobacco, Huntsman, Oompa), Heavenly Army is the first one I actively didn't like. All the rest were fine juices that I liked---from wowee zowee great through pretty good to at least interesting---but HA just isn't my cup of tea at all. Wrong flavor profile for my palate.

Obviously, the fact that I don't like HA doesn't mean squat, since you might love it. But if you buy it thinking that HA is an RY4, you're sure to be disappointed. Or led astray.

On the other hand, I would definitely encourage your getting some Janty RY4 DK-series. Even more than Janty RY4 Classic and Elixir, RY4 DK is the ultimate reference standard against which all other RY4s should be judged.

Hey Bill, thanks for catching that. Heavenly Army was a mis-type on my part, Heavenly Tobacco has been my intention for their RY4. The Army isn't even on my list to try yet. I'll go edit my post to not confuse anyone that it's an RY4.

As far as Janty, the DK series one is what I'm definately getting, and looking forward to the most. I'm going to get at least 2. Was leaning to the RY4-X in the Classic series, but now thinking I'll go for Elixir.

I just order the new PURE "Smoke" from want2vape. It's their Ecopure clone (I used to devour Ecopure Rich back in the day) with extracted tobacco. The interesting thing will be this: Ecopure has the extreme cleansing factor when it comes to hardware; Want2Vape's extracts usually destroy hardware. I'll let you all know!

Let me take a stab at explaining. It's just a theory, mind you, but I think it has relevance to vaping in general and this thread in particular:

Yes, I taste a definite resemblance between Smooth Criminal and Dragon's Fire. Personally, I like them both, although I gravitate toward Smooth Criminal more often.

What I like about SC as an NET hybrid is that it's not spectacular. Blue Grass Burley is spectacular, but it's so idiosyncratic that I can't vape much of it at one sitting. Same with Devil Dog/Apache/London/Louisville. All amazing, but all extreme enough to be a bit much. By contrast, Smooth Criminal is definitely not amazing. The sweet/dessert/candy elements of SC and DF (and so many similar hybrids, even those with subtle fruity components), plus the less-laser-like reduced intensity of their tobaccos places them closer toward the center of the "safer" flavor bell curve that will tend to please the majority of vapers (although not necessarily hard-core NET lovers).

This is similar to knocking back a 3 oz. double-shot straight espresso made with Ethiopian Yirgacheffe beans versus drinking an 8-ounce mocha latte made with Brazilian beans, two-thirds steamed milk, and a tablespoon of chocolate syrup. Hard-core espresso geeks will sing the praises of the "pure" Ethiopian, while soccer moms will order the mocha latte every time.

Most of us tend to have many different "people" co-existing in our brains: we are hard-core geek enthusiasts, soccer moms, little kids who want a lollipop, and adults who appreciate flavors other than sweetness, such as sourness, acidity, or pungency. Proportions of this odd mix of flavor leanings may differ significantly from one person to another, and even shift within the same person from time to time, but very few of us have only one or two of all the different identities and the characteristic flavor preferences that go with them.

Just sort of by the way, an example of a third category is Vurley, which sits roughly midway between the play-it-safe, middle-of-the-road-sweetness of SC, DF, and their ilk, and the in-your-face amazing tobacco impact of BGB, DD, London/Louisville-type NETs. Vurley has the added vanilla dessert element without sacrificing much if any of the tobacco kick. And yet, Vurley isn't merely another vanilla tobacco or burley-with-vanilla. It's so beautifully blended that it becomes a creature all its own with a unique, sit-up-and-take-notice singular flavor impact.

And so, we end up with the huge juice marketplace that we have, because flavor appreciation is kaleidoscopic and constantly shifting.

Very cool! The PURE sound like how Malty from BWB was to me. Just a light spun sugar flavor on exhale. So PURE Smoke would be like malty-tobacco if that existed. They say they use one of their top selling tobacco extracts and mix with PURE, I wonder which extract it is. Seeing that new flavor has bumped up W2V on my order list yet again, and they also have The Blond available to order again.

Cool, Jerms! I actually did wonder if the Heavenly Army/Heavenly Tobacco thing might be a momentary brain fart, since (like so many other posters on this wonderful thread) you seem to me quite well-informed.

That's OK, though. It gave me a chance to rock out with a mini-rant. LOL.
