Hi,

I need help with chosing a decent reliable RDA.

I have a IPV D2 75W and really want to go with a RDA rather than me Herkales tank im using, im sick of leaks and all the other .... that comes with tanks.

I am looking for a nice easy RDA, that I can learn to build on quickly, preferable that isn't going to leak to much( top air holes I think is best?)

Also: Can you buy pre built coils for it? Never built coils in the past but am dying so bad to get an RDA.

Sorry if I sound stupid im relatively new to vaping.

Thanks guys, Kyle.

Thanks. Like the look of the dotmod. Need to learn how to build now lol
What's your budget because a Petri will run you $100 without a drip tip. The Twisted Messes will be anywhere from $50-60. Neither are top air. I have both and from my experience I get less leaking/chance of leaking from the Petri. The Petri is a great atty, but I don't think it should be your first. It's fixed airflow with 2x 3mm air holes. Dotmod makes a cloud cap for it, I should be picking one up soon, in which it doubles the airflow and comes with an extra gold plated top cap for $49.

If you like the two post design, and like an atty that will fit the chamber/cap from the Twisted Messes, check out the Phenotype-L. If you want top airflow, look into the Vector, it's around $55-65, and is a very solid atty. JayBo makes a comp cap for it as well which will change the looks of it entirely while remaining top air for around $20.

Get a velocity, easy build for beginners. Especially for someone who dun even know who to build a coil. Go Fasttech.com, there you will find prebuild coils (bag of 20s, 50s, and 100s) and also clone velocity (USD10) for your first start up.

Oh i forgotten to mention, velocity have big leg holes so remember to get some thicker coils

The link below you will find all the pre-build coils you need.'

Derringer. I started rebuilding with a Magma and after trying a Veritas, Mutation V3, and Freakshow Mini, the Derringer is the only thing that competes with my Magma for flavor while being easy to build on and damn near leak proof.

Edit: I am currently using my Derringers on a Sigelei 30w Mini and build single micro coils 2.4mm i.d. 9 wraps with 26ga Kanthal running at 26w.

I stand by the Vector over Velocity clones. I have a Velocity clone. I don't really trust it. FT was supposed to send me the tobecco 1:1 clone but they sent me the FT "Not 1:1" clone. Thing has Phillips head grub screws instead of normal Allen key. And the center pin set up is shaky. I don't trust it all too much.

I think going with an authentic Vector would be a good decision. It's a 3 post top airflow atty with massive post holes. If you buy a 2 post like a velocity as your first, it'll be harder to learn on a 3 or 4 post hole atty. The bonus feature with the vector is that you can make an 18350 box mod out of the box/case it comes in :)

As for prebuilt coils, you can buy them online, what kind of coils are you trying to buy?
Edit: found an authentic Vector for $34.99. I may get one at that price. Vulcan Vector RDA (Authentic)

I agree with cmillion. I started (and still use) the Magma. Super easy to learn on and the Derringer is just as awesome.
Just please, Kyle. Whatever you do, be safe.
Don't go stupid and do a 2 wrap of 20g kanthal and vape...make sure you do your research.
You can buy pre coiled wire coils from fasttech but really, you may as well just buy a roll of wire, a precision screwdriver set and make your own.
If I were you, I'd buy a roll of 26g Kanthal wire and start with a 7 wrap on a 2 -2.5mm screwdriver and work from there.
Also, check out steam-engine.org...Great tool to use for building.
Good luck to you and vape on!

Here's my two cents for what it's worth... If you want something that doesn't leak much, go with a troll or velocity. The mutation x V4 is great but tends to leak unless you use the bottom airflow plugs. Freakshow mini's are great also, but tend to leak if overfilled. Another good option is a dodge v2. Basically, just shoot for something with side airflow. That will prevent the majority of your leakage since bottom airflow holes is where the bulk of your leakage comes from.

And as far as coils go, pick up a coil jig to make life simple. Something like a coilmaster kit. It's cheap and helpful when it comes to wrapping wire. A spool of Kanthal is only a few bucks from lightning vapes, so get a couple sizes and experiment with different wraps to see what fits your vaping style.

Saved you five bucks. Yes, it is authentic. Sign up for their newsletter and save another 10%. You are welcome ;)
I'm going to do all of this^ haha. So you're saying its $34.99-5= 29.99-2.99 in the end? I can't pass that up. I got a Sapor for 29.99 and went through two of them in a week and a half because of busted center pin insulators.
And to the OP: if you get a Petri, the only way you can go is downhill from there. Work up to it. For your first atty I definitely don't recommend a $100 rda. Get the Vector, I've only heard great things and with that link @sig-cmt gave you, it's cheap AF.
BTW - Sig, does the CMT stand for CloudMaker Tech?

I think everyone has their own two cents to put in here based on experience and flavor/airflow ratio. I myself prefer a very airy draw. I've always been a fan of the Mutation X line. Very adjustable for clouds/flavor, but the V4 isn't as great as I'd hoped. If you want a cheap RDA, look at the Velocity by Tobeco ("Quality Clone". It's around $20, and to me, it's one of the better, if not the best RDA I have. Simply put, I'd say the Mutation X V3 if you like a 4 post setup, and the Tobeco Velocity if you prefer a 2 post design. I do also enjoy the Doje, giant airflow and a three post design. Just my opinion. You can buy prebuilt coils off eBay, but I'm sure your local vape shop would do builds for you. Vaping is all about asking questions. Building just your "run of the mill" coil is not nearly as difficult as you think. Have someone build for you and ask questions, that's how you learn. Before you know it, you'll be building them just like everyone else. Have a good day!

I am using a M4 myself and honestly it nv leaks on me once. while using a M4 you must not drip even if it had a large well. You must use the painting method instead. The original only cost usd 29.90 which is a steal to me. The top cap come off easily making "painting' easy.
