Liquid Silver Plating Kit | eBay

re did all my contacts and have to say this stuff works great they all look brand new and no voltage drop

nice james, i was looking at this before as a way to restore silver contacts....

i daresay its a couple of lifetime's worth of silver replating liquid though with how small our pos and neg contacts are...?

have you tried using it on brass and/or copper contact?

i've got about 12 devices that have either silver, brass or copper contacts.... so i guess it would be a way to go.

haven't tried to convert brass or copper yet only my two neme contacts they were pretty bad was getting a .39 volt drop on a 1 ohm coil after the restore im now getting a .19 volt drop on the same coil have to say this stuff is amazing how it restores the silver it is a bit messy with the contact being so small you have to buff off the dark spots to shine the silver I went and bought a soft brass polish brush for my dremel and they shined right up, also used a lil 600 wet sand paper before the liquid silver to take out groves put in from battery's I have 5 sets and they all look brand new now, don't think I will ever have to by any more contacts or silver , pretty impressed

Update day two after silver plating contacts, although my voltage drop on the plated contacts remained constant with that of the original contacts and a vast improvement from my tarnished used beat up contacts the next day after use, the contacts were a yellow color did some buffing and they were still a yellow color gave them another coat of liquid silver and they are back to a nice silver color, not sure how it holds up to electric current, or if maybe I just did not put enough layers on them

so far so good re did the contacts

step clean contact
apply liquid silver
buff contact
clean contact hot water ( did not do this first time around)
buff contact

hopefully the yellow was because I did not clean contact in hot water after applying liquid silver will update tomorrow after a days use

Update day three with restored contacts using liquid silver

contacts keep turning yellow the ones I did and keep in my drawer still completely silver and look good but after a day of use the next day they have turned yellow you can buff the yellow back out but the liquid silver does not hold up well to electric current to bad because I now have a whole bottle of liquid silver and I did all my contacts with it oh well back to the drawing board I guess it was worth a try at least

yellow; does it affect performance? if not, i'll try it.

cool amp... is it easier to apply?

fyi: for my copper and brass contacts, i bought a "fiberglass pen" for scraping off tarnish. works good.

yes the cool amp is a bit easier to apply because there is no real clean up afterwards also it a powder form , and is made for electronic application , the yellow color on the ebay kit did not effect performance I did not get any voltage drop from the restored contact and the original I just did not care for the discoloration of the silver

Its a good mod, I bought one, but really if I was smart about it I would've gone on fast tech, bought the clone for $27, the silver contacts for $18, and would've had basically the same thing for 1/4th what I payed. I just have poor impulse control, but not as bad as some of the insane people on Calivapors buying these things for $250 used. I payed $195 for the vapor wall edition

I have a clone and a real nemesis the clone is a cheap copy that I use to travel with so it can get beat up. It is no where near the same in craftsmanship or quality , Yes the clone looks like the original and performs well , But if you want something to be proud of , buy from atmomixani

Yes, aesthetically the real nemesis is better, and I bought it because it looks better but for anybody to whom $200 is a lot of money I would say buy the clone. You'll regret it when you drop the real one a few times (because you have to travel with it because you spent $200 and couldn't afford anything else to travel with) and it looks just as bad as the clone or worse.

Also, it's not a "cheap copy". The differences between the two are so inconsequential it would require somebody to pick it up and look at it to know if it was a clone or not, and they would have to have owned high end mods before. The fact that every time I walk into a vapor store with my Sentinel clone they ask me "is it a clone?" says that nobody knows the difference from 5ft away. That, in my definition, is not a "cheap copy".
