I think it's probably fun and maybe worth it for some who need/want the latest gadgetry. I don't need one and I'm not buying one. I agree that changing the battery is fine. I have the occasional thought "what I if I strip the threads?" But, they make extra battery end caps for far less dough so meh.

Is the Dicodes charger worth it? For basically 100 US dollars, not sure if I'm sold on it. Not that hard/time consuming to pop out the battery.

It is not really necessary, I used my mini for 8 months without one. That being said, I really like it now that I have it. It charges at 2 amps until it gets to 4 volts, then automatically drops down to a low charge rate. It is fast. :)

That would suck. That would really be awful.

I'm not getting a charger plate today through although quite frankly I should probably lubricate some threads. Hmm.

If anyone can bust a Dicodes its me but like, they have a 2 year warranty, right? If I'm going to strip some threads, I am going to do it within that time period, I am fairly certain.

It's a nice piece just because of the quality that Dicodes puts into everything. But I find that I seldom use mine even though it's right here on my desk and always plugged in.

I thought the high rate charging might be cool, even though it might take a few weeks or months off your battery life. But I almost never see those high rates when I put a mod on the thing. Maybe I need to wait until the low battery alarm comes on, dunno.

But does it charge a Dicodes without having to remove a battery? Absolutely. And from what I've seen of Mooch's charger tests, I'm sure it's more accurate and probably safer than any standalone I have.

Like DP said, yes for some and no for others.

We just sprung for 2 Dani's (for me and my wife) and I was on the fence about the charger. Then "In for a penny in for a pound" popped into my mind and the charger popped into my cart. Without it, I would have to have another charger on the counter anyway so what the hey ... no steak for a couple month's but I have a cool new toy.

We're already talking about getting 2 more Dani's we like them that much already. The BIG question will be ... another charger for the bedroom?

Bottom line: It's an expensive convenience but not necessary, particularly if you're already in the habit of charging batts outside your mods.

Oh by the way, I ordered the 2nd one Monday morning from Creme de Vape and it was delivered around noon today. Not bad, 3 1/2 days from placing the order to having it in my hand from England. (BTW, I selected Royal Air Mail, not DHL for shipping).

So Creme de Vape is back in stock.

Two Minis and a charger... would be a chunk of change.

Plus maybe a 21700 just to keep Turfy from yelling at me... I dunno, I've managed to resist up til now, but it is getting harder.

Gots to make more...

Honestly, I have yet to hear anyone say they weren't happy (amazed? overjoyed?) with their new Dicodes - any model, at any stage of their production.

But, to be honest there are niggles. The completely different logic in the menu system sometimes throws people for a loop - myself included until a couple of emails with Keith at CdV cleared my self-induced fog. Those who have used a Provari seem to come up to speed much faster than the vapers who've only used Evolv or the like.

And then there was Phil Busardo - whose first video ever on Dicodes boxes contained a cringey segment where he complained about the threading on the battery tube - since of many things I could rate highly on Dicodes, the machine work stands at the top. He fumbled, dropped the cap, and fumbled some more. I still don't know how or why that happened. But it was exactly like those late night commercials for those products solving a problem no one has. You know the type - the people using normal frying pans who create charcoal lumps and trash their kitchen while scrambling eggs, or using a non-Official Ginsu knife that squashes everything instead of slicing. It was like that.

Money doesn't grow on trees, but for any vaper who's above the Juuling level, I firmly believe the Dicodes brand is a great and satisfying purchase.

We ARE enablers around here, aren't we?

Tell me about it. I just did that plus a couple tanks from C de V. But like Hobbs said, if you can stretch the budget, I doubt seriously you'll be disappointed. My wife and I have been vaping for almost 7 years now. Been through a lot of mods from just decent ones to high end models. These are truly among the best of the best for a quality mod. I seriously can't wait to recover from this purchase and then 'do it again'.

I just looked back to my younger years when I was building hot cars for the drag strip. I said to my 'mentor' of that time ... "Geez, I'm spending my entire paycheck on performance parts too often". He replied, "Don't add up the expenses of your hobby or you'll quit doing it". I reminded myself of his advice and just pulled the trigger for the Dani's.

I love my dani mini but I ADORE my 21700. For anyone trying to decide. I have changed my battery twice since I got it but it's the handfeel that gets me. Once some expensive things in my life come and go (Soonish) I am going to get another, that is how much I love it.

Then I'm going to try really hard not to look at any Dicodes threads :lol::lol: for a long while...

I said the same thing to him a while ago.

Just sitting here thinking about the classic Ralph Kramden building rage/explosion schtick. The show was before my time but I do pre-date cable so reruns were often the only thing to watch.

It's 2019, and everybody knows that thumping your better half (or poor Norton in some cases) so hard to send them flying all the way to the moon is a foul thing. But it was funny back then and it's still funny to me now.

First, Trixie ruled that shabby apartment with an iron first though she was happy to let Ralph think he wore the pants in the family. (hey, that was even a period-correct statement!) Second, Ralph, for all his bluster loved her way too much to even consider such a thing. I am positive that no one watching those bits was ever afraid of Trixie might be attacked.

So with everything our society has slowly learned, we seem to have lost track of that fine line between funny ridiculous situations and just nasty. mean, rants. There is a difference, you know.

Thus ends my "in MY day..." geezer complaint.

I always find it impossible to rate one thing as "better" than another, especially when it's basically two of the same thing (with only size and battery life being different).

Someone once told me that taste was subjective. I don't remember who, but I'm pretty sure it was either @Katdarling or @Baditude . If not one of them, another LONG time vaper.

I'm not sure if it's true, but it makes sense to me.

Mini for the win!!! ;)

Must have been @Bad. I would never kome up with such a truth on a Katurday nite. ;)

(personality wise, I'd say it was the LONG(o) time vaper.)

I said the same thing to him a while ago.

As did I -- many moons ago.
