Oooh! Is that an Angel tip? Sure looks like it!

OOOH for me, too! I had drooled over having a tip like that for a LONG time, and it still remains one of my all-time faves. It's a Pinnacle tip, called Captive Ring. Here's a (possibly) better shot of it.

I am saving my beans and curd for a Dicodes 21700 in Titan. Tossed up different mods. Saved some vape money and spent some vape money. Now I am going all the way on this one. Plan on getting the charger also after studying some on this thread. Might not be able to top it with a Taifun but hoping a new QP Mini will suffice for now.

So I imagine some people have had the Dicodes Dani Box Mini a few years now. What is the lifespan looking like for this mod or Dicodes in general?

For that matter, what about a DNA mod lifespan? I have a Lost Vape Paranormal. Trying to plan ahead. It was brought to my attention that come May 2020, vaping hardware may be restricted due to FDA regulations.

Dicodes in general? I have 3 Dicodes box mods which will be 4 years old in the next few months. They still look (9.5/10) and operate (10/10) like new even though I use all of them daily. Right with Provari, they are the most reliable mods I've ever owned. And to be honest, the Provaris have needed attention here and there over the years. The Dicodes simply work with never a question of "why is it doing that?"

As for Evolv, I've had a couple where the screens needed replacement. No real problems other than that but I have to admit that since I bought my first Dicodes, they haven't see a lot of use.

Of course the boards are critical. But I've seen instances where a company using Evolv boards just doesn't follow through with the specified installation requirements: too small wiring, shaky connections, and just saving pennies here and there which really affects the board's abilities to do what it is designed to do. I have not run into that with my Dicodes mods. They are built with as much care, precision, and quality materials as the board itself.

Did y'all see that CdV now has Dariusz sleeves for the Minis?

I'm curious about those. They're obviously very well made. I remember you having one, so I'll ask:

The leather looks to be good quality and therefore fairly thick. So it looks like the the buttons are fairly deeply recessed when using the sleeve. Is that an issue? Do you have to change your grip or use a fingernail to get the button pressed?

Enquiring minds and all that. Or maybe just general nosiness.

It hasn't been an issue at all for me, GG, and no change of grip required (me). I'm still able to basically lay my thumb across, exactly as I normally would, and fire it.

That being said, since it's mobile use (mainly), I literally never use the lower buttons. I just tried them and had no problem, and I've got some fairly chubby thumbs. If one was inclined to constantly change settings and stuff though, I could see that as a potential issue, but it obviously isn't for me (since I've no such inclination).

The battery thing also isn't an issue for me since an 18650 carries me PLENTY long at my whopping 11w (of pure & unadulterated power). I usually remove the sleeve long before I need to swap batteries, and if I'm putting the sleeve on, I throw in a "freshie" anyways.

I decimated my V3 tube (and love it, all beat up and what-not), but I want to keep both Minis as pristine as possible. We've got ZapWrapz for when they begin to go, but the sleeve will keep that somewhere well down the line.

I use it with both the Purple and the Titan, and the impact to the finish has been zero (both, and to date). They still look flippin' awesome (IMO). :D

I absolutely love the sleeve, and will be ever-appreciative of the (very unexpected) birthday surprise.

I expect you won't need to guess the source. :)

I was looking into a sleeve and wondered that myself. I thought I'd like to protect the Dicodes, but not at the cost of functionality.

Speaking of which, anyone ever drop these? I would hope it could take a fall.

I'm much more a flopper than a dropper (my tubes take a beating), so I'm afraid I can't be much help in that area (sorry).

This is the grey one (I don't think CdV has them yet), for which the color simply won't translate well in pics.

If it looks like the buttons are too deep for anyone, I'd probably recommend avoiding it. For me, it's a total non-issue.

We know what they say about opinions...

You can change the settings? Really? Imagine that!
