My Dicodes V2 is back home. Here's the tail of it's journey

2020-01-31 - I mailed it USPS from my hometown in PA
2020-02-03 09:54, GERMANY, FRANKFURT, Departed -> Your item departed a transfer airport in FRANKFURT, GERMANY on it's transit to the destination.

Then there was no tracking information updates. I had been tracking it using 17track.com and it just stopped updates.
I tried the tracking number at the DHL site, but it wasn't even found there.

2020-02-13 I get an email from Dicodes saying "Today we returned your Dani Box V2 to you"

I emailed them back asking for a tracking number and was told "
"We are sorry, but with the special service „DHL Warensendung“ the packages normally cannot be tracked. It lasts a little bit longer, but it works fine. Nevertheless please find attached the corresponding label."
The 'number' on the mailing label didn't help me track it until it reach NY and was transferred to USPS.

2020-02-14 it was processed through Franfurt
2020-02-16 it arrived in NY
2020-02-19 it was delivered registered mail to my door.

Actually I was out for a walk around the neighborhood and my mail man pulled over and asked if I wanted to sign to a package. So it was delivered directly to me not my door. Bob, our mailman, is a great guy. I appreciate having a good mailman after some of the horror stories I heard of other people getting the mail and packages.

So total turnaround time was around 20 days and it cost me $23 to ship it to Germany.

PS: the day I got it back I placed an order with Creme de vape for another V2. So now I'm waiting again for a Dicodes to show up. One must have backups

NICE! Glad it got worked out, Mike!!!!

I don't even think they shut it off to replace the screen. When I got it back I put a batt into it, pressed the fire button and it came up on my default screen with all my same setting when I sent it away and was ready to vape.

I went through a mad, bad period where I had to have a VW bug the new ones. That is the MOST anti ergonomic car that EXISTS. I got a black one with black interior (I was new to AZ.)

I very quickly came to hate it, it was designed so cigarette butts would blow BACK into the car no matter what. If there had been an ashtray I would have used it, that is how bad it was (remember car ashtrays? Awwwww.)

In any case, it was many a day where I would get a damn LIT cigarette between my back and the car seat and go, "Safer to swerve and pull over, or just PRESS really hard and put it out?"

My husband also hated the vehicle whenever he worked on it (not infrequently) he would be bleeding, muttering about "non standard sizes" and also "Germans, always stuffing 10 lbs of things in a 5 lb bag.)

I finally killed it semi on purpose by driving it through a wash I was pretty sure it could not handle but it was also my only way off the reservation and I was like, "Stay overnight? I don't think so."

Apparently, others did not like my VW either, as some point someone carved the word M:censored:KER on the back of it. I wasn't quite sure if it was random, or some kid I had annoyed by sending to residential, but it rather quickly became my favorite thing ABOUT that car.

My husband shoved it (with a thoroughly accurate and rather amusing description) on Craig's List for 800 bucks,, OBO. I mean people go NUTS for that vehicle, we were like, pretty much having an AUCTION in the driveway, people were calling their mechanics to see how high they should go.

They did no KNOW I would have paid THEM 900 bucks to take it away but from the Craig's List auction came the money to buy the kid's car and we went with a good old US of A Pontiac (it MAY have been USA made honestly, like, it was OLD) the size of a boat, for the kid.

Who just bought a Tahoe yesterday. He is ALL excited, his first self purchased car. I'm like, the kid is buying vehicles while I have to cope with catastrophic home loss. Oh well, Oy.

I exempt dicodes, man they are the best. I don't see me trying to fix one but otherwise, perfectionl

They're like that weird virtual Pokeman game where you have to go "catch" them all only they won't kill you for standing in traffic.

I must admit I found that to be the WEIRDEST (brief) cultural phenomenon and I was sorry to see it go. If you are gonna stand in traffic to catch an imaginary thing on your phone, well, I'm not saying you DESERVE too die.... But you kinda did your part, know what I'm saying?

So I guess I'm saying there are worse addictions ore perhaps I am rationalizing.

So I just received a Dani Box Mini. I attached an atomizer to it. The mod seems to have read the resistance automatically. I set to temp control, correct wire, desired temp, desired wattage.

My question is about the TempCal menu option. It appears from the documentation that this is a way to calibrate the mod to read the proper resistance at room temperature. When I toggle to TempCal, there is the init screen option highlighted. Whether I press the up or down arrow, I get the init, confirm, and process options. So if I am at the menu, and I press up or down after init is highlighted, and it goes to confirm, and I press down or up again, and then it goes to process, have I just calibrated at room temperature? Assuming of course the atomizer is at room temperature.

Do I really have to do this each time I attach a new atomizer, or is the mod automatically going to read the resistance?

I managed to find a quick start guide in this thread that answered the question.

Highlight "Init" and then press up or down to step to "Confirm" and then press up or down once more to see "process" When you see the "Process" word appear this means the device has processed the reading and your coil's base resistance at room temp has been locked into the calculation for temp control.

Problem for me is that in the winter, where I vape is around 15 celsius. Will have to figure that out. Maybe warm up the atomizers prior to use. sort of a humidor for atomizers, an 'atodor' if you will.

Sort of hacking away at the other settings here. The process of navigation was a little frustrating at first, but getting the hang of it. This mod kind of forces you to look at things a little differently, such as making decisions on when to change your batteries based on voltage instead of percentage.

Anyone have a picture of a Silver Dani mini? The pic on Creme looks like it’s white? I’ve looked on google and can’t seem to find any good pics. Thinking of getting a backup, for some wierd reason.

Does it scratch at all? My black dicodes doesn’t have a scratch on it even though It’s been through lots of travel. Haven’t dropped it though.
