Not read much of thread.
But have a question, has anyone had bad experiences with this brand ?
I have a dani box and a v2 extreme.
The v2 has failed twice within 3 years.
Now my dani box is causing me concern after leaving it overnight and waking up to dead batteries 0.6v!! so truly in bin dead. never switch off over night and vever had problem since i purchased it until now.
i only vape at 8.5 watt with kfl atty, but run time seems far less that the early days.
i thought this was a battery issue as the cells varied from 3-5 years old.
so i got myself a pair of new cells same again for a new cell overnight left it at 50 percent in the morning cell at 0.6v. more bin fodder.
I love tactile qualities of these boxes so can just sit holing onto it, being aluminium and a warn evening it did get warm. thought nothing of it until today.
Thinking gosh this thing is warm I left it to cool, after 30 mins still warm. hottest around the docking porthole.
Hmm so I removed the base plate and checked , nothing obvious but i had never been happy with the proximity
of the base plate the charging anode contact.
close inspection [needed to stack reading glasses here] revealed the pcb foil used as a contact wrapped fractionally over the pcb base standoffs leaving a possibility of a short. [especially with conductive debris entering the hole]
I file back the pcb over the stand offs and reassembled.
funny thing is i do remember being a bit suspicous of thse exposed close proximity contacts back when i got the thing and test by shorting with a piece of metal, result was a definite spark.
I repeated the test today same result, so fumbling with a meter I got readings between 250ma to 1amp!.
whether this was the cause of my issues not sure but there was debris in there and this risk of foil to base contact.
I always thought this port was poorly designed and i am now convinced it is. { will plug mine with silcone at some point, tape for now}
Shame I love these products
To conclude If the mini also has this feature too pay careful attention to it, cover or plug if not needed.
