Aha! You're right. Odd. Not the laptop--same thing is happening here on my PC. Only works after a refresh.

Strange....the little arrow is working just like it always has, for me. Seem like there are still a few little "sometime glitches" that come and go to be worked through.
It's a glitch in the matrix!!!

The arrow back to the quoter's post seemed (hang on.... "SEEMED") to be working in ECF standard mode, but NOT in Alu-MIN-ium. Now it's iffy in ECF mode, too.

<things that make ya go 'hmmmmmmm'>

KD, PC, no refreshin'~

Function and form, say I. My main gripes are about functionality and readability--user friendliness, if you will. I mentioned them before. I'll speak my piece one more time--for the record, and then I'll forever keep my peace.

1. Navigation. When I log on, I do three things--check my Inbox, my Alerts and then go to my Watched Threads. All three are there on my old toolbar, clearly visible, one simple click or a hover takes me to the content I want. Not so in Aluminum, which I find a lot less convenient. What used to be one click, now is two or three clicks away.

2. Visibility and readability. ECF skin is tighter, the shading provides more contrast, quoted posts stand out (even though I was never a fan of that pumpkin hue ;)), the font is darker and thus easier to read, there are no large grayish empty spaces everywhere, the size of members' info (left) and the text box are just right, my personal info (on the right side) is properly sized and provides the information about me that is rather useful, etc. Somehow, in Aluminum, everything still seems to be floating in that vast, pale space, without a focus, not really anchored properly, for lack of better description.

3. The blinking green dot is just mildly annoying. Sorry. Why does it have to blink? I can live with that.

4. Round avatars are not my cup of tea... I'll live...

QFT!!!!!!

Boy, did you NAIL this, kiddo.

Exactly as stated. Well done, Ya Ya.

:?: Okay - recently "Adobe Flash Player" - has been popping up for the past three days in a yellow banner across the top of the page saying that it was blocked because it is out of date . . . I can either "Update plugin" or "Run at this time" . . . I've done both as best I can (Followed instruction provided by "Google" too), but still have the same message popping up on each and every page of ECF no matter what theme I am using (BTW: Nowhere else on the Internet ) . . . Any one else ? ? ? ? Or know what can be done to eliminate this annoying banner ? ? ?

Have you tried updating directly from Adobe's site?

https://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/

No issues or banners for me, though.

@DavidOck . . .

Well downloaded the exe . . . AND - While it seems that it installed and supposedly update the program - didn't work (tried 3x's) . . . :(

Uncs, I have no yellow banner for Flash Player on ECF, but I did update mine this morning, after getting their notification. It caused NOTHING but pain and sorrow and a 1/2 day of remedies for my system. I could not even ACCESS ECF. :grr:

I'm not at all sure if this is a coincidence, but thought I'd mention it.

I had to do a system restore, just by the way.

Some essential hook between programs may have gone south for the winter.

Windows machine?

Maybe use the control panel uninstall app (Programs and Features, or similar name depending on what version) to completely remove Adobe Flash, then do a fresh and clean install. Not sure about Chrome, but FF runs a separate plugin that also needs to be kept updated.

Yep - It seems so, given that there is some kind of "cipher suite" attached to ECF that is using "TLS1.2/CHACHA20_POLY1305/ECDHE_RSA as the key mechanism" (At least that is what I am reading) . . . :?:

Firefox no longer supports the Flash plugin. If you MUST use Flash, you can install Firefox ESR, which should support Flash for a few more months. But be aware, once ESR hits the version 56 tree, Flash is officially dead as far as Firefox is concerned.

Has absolutely nothing to do with whether you can run Flash or not. Your browser and OS dictates whether you can use Flash or not.
