Well for those who have issues with shorts on the DID, wrapping the wire. I just spent the last hr with the mini. No way could I do the coil today. Went through five because I get mad and take it all off after a little fiddling. FINALLY all is well. So even those who have had genisis for quite awhile still have issues folks. So all who are new to genisis - keep at it, all will be well.

I recommend you fill your tank before you wrap the coil. In this way the wick is soaked with eliquid and will not scratch so easily. Most important thing is not to scratch the carbon layer.

Sure, I get them from a place called Cupcake World "Intense Flavour Range". They are strong so use with caution.... but very good quality and a good price £2.49 for 28.5mls of concentrate

Website here:- Flavourings : Cupcake World

You can also get them at their ebay shop, and they will combine the postage.

From my experience, the angle cut at the bottom of the tank really only helps to let the bubbles out of a wick with a larger center channel (e.g. 40mm x ~25mm / 3.5mm rolled - thin walled/wide wicks). I starting to mess around with the real "fatty/almost solid" 500 mesh wicks (40mm x 110mm / 3.5mm rolled - someone earlier said they were going for 170mm...) and don't see a need for the angle cut.

I do angle cut the bottom of the big channel wicks, still think the bubbles look like a lava lamp
 You're a blast!
:::making mental note to self,... leave flat when in SS, cut at angle when in Clear tube ::::

Hey kabonk, thanks for the reply.
no it doesn't have to be VV as long as i get at least a constant 3.7...
the 10440 looks great, but it has a 12mm diameter whereas the mini is 14mm.
I just saw the Titanide, a stylish french beautiful make. Beleive it or not, the french distributor has banned israel among all countries. Crazy stuff. Anyways, i'm still on the hunt...
Any of them that take a Kick will maintain a constant 3.7 for you until the battery needs charging. There are tons of beautiful and beautifully crafted mechanical mods out there. GG, Caravela, Paps, ROLLER, Precise +, Gepetto, Reo, and on and on and on...
Good luck with your search for the perfect "one".... you'll be back before you know it, because there is no perfect "one", there are only perfect "10"ls of thousands lol. (just ask Rick :D ) And don't forget Jim's new mod!!! I bet his will be a contender!!!

Gemini 108 and all my spare widgets just arrived. Its absolutely beautiful. The inside of slots are polished giving a nice contrast to the outer satin finish.

The wire comes on a tiny spool now instead of cardboard so no more kinks. I've never used the drip tips that come with the DIDs but I put it on and was surprised to see it perfectly sized and shaped to blend into the top caps design. Might have to use it for awhile but I really like my glass tips. (drip tip in pic is not what comes with it)

But the best surprise of all is that the serial number matches my Mini DID. Jim you attention to detail and these extra special touches are amazing. I cant thank you enough. Cant wait for the next device you come out with
Congrats!!! and what a nice write up on it. I can't wait to order one!!

I so want to dig in with DIY-ing. I'm still procrastinating. The flavors you listed sound scrumptous!!

Amen to that! I've tried manyyyy of the mechanical mods out there and I still don't think that I've found "the one". With that being said, the GGTS has to be as close as it gets for me so far, though with the absence of brass contacts in the SS GGTS (though Imeo has added brass buttons, ground posts, and hot springs to his inventory of spare parts for sale), there are other devices out there that have found their way into my permanent collection of mechanical mods and are strong contenders in my quest for "the one". Now if only Imeo would come out with a brass positive post for the collector tank and stealth cap (THIS ESPECIALLY!!), then I think it'd be perfect, especially considering the new line of ALL BRASS GGTSs that could be purchased part by part in the most recent pre-sale on COV, so even your entire ground connection would be perfectly conductive!
Besides for the GGTS, I really love my Precise+s, which have rhodium contacts (not as conductive as either aluminum or brass, but they never tarnish or oxidize, so their performance is about as consistent as it gets in mech mods), perfectly fit the DID and mini DID (flat top P+18*** for DID/Gemini and slant top P+16340 for mini DID), really comfortable/ergonomic switches (once you get the washers/throw setup to your liking), and are machined to a caliber that suits their namesake, though the center pin is stationary, so you need an adjustable center pin in your atomize to get it to sit flush (if you're using a genesis atty), the Sturm Mod, which has brass contacts, an adjustable center pin, telescopes to fit 14500s and 14650s, has a fairly comfortable switch with a nice locking feature, and has a finish and OD that makes it a great option for use with the mini DID, and the GGTB, which has SS contacts like the GGTS (meh), but is a near PERFECT fit for the standard DID while still being sleek enough to pair beautifully with the mini DID. My Caravela is patiently waiting for me at home in its box, but from what I've read/seen/heard from friends (dspin in particular), between the beautiful, no, PERFECT, finish, customizable aesthetics, deep and tasteful engravings, brass contacts, ergonomic switch (with lock), and adjustable positive post, it might give the GGTS a good run for its money!
To sum it up, for those of you in the market for "the one" mechanical mod (which means you should expect to pay "the one" prices and invest the time to source them, as some can be quite hard to come by), the ones I'd most strongly suggest looking into are the SS GGTS, Caravela, Sturm Mod (for the mini DID), Precise+, and the SS GGTB. Another few that I don't own or know too much about, but have heard overwhelmingly positive things about are the Roller (which has all brass contacts and resides in the collections of both Jim and Uma *wink* *wink*), GP Paps, GP Piccolo, and the Zenesis Heresy, which virtually zero info regarding its specifics has been published yet, but knowing Zen and the work that he does (which I must say is top notch, though not without its imperfections), will undoubtedly be something to keep an eye on in the near future.

Now as for Jim's mechanical mod...I've gotten a few sneak peaks at what's to come, and I can frankly and honestly say that you might have wasted your time in reading everything in this post up until now considering how great it looks! If you're on this thread, you either own a DID and know that it's virtually mechanically, functionally, and aesthetically flawless, or you're considering getting yourself a DID and are soon to find out first hand what I'm talking about, so with that in mind, I think whatever Jim has on its way to us as far as a mechanical mod and/or hybrid device, I think nobody will be disappointed.

Lastly, I don't have all of the mods that I wrote about on hand, but when I'm home, with my DSLR, I will do a very detailed and thorough photo-shoot of my collection of DIDs (Standard (ss tank), Shorty (ss and clear tanks), Mini (ss tank), and Gemini on all of the mods I spoke about (plus a few more) so everyone can get a good visual sense of how they look paired with the mods (especially to demonstrate the congruency of the ODs of the attys/connectors). Now my girlfriend is begging me to finish packing, so I have to stop rambling on about mechanical mods and genesis atomizers, but I hope at least 1 person finds some value in this post. Enjoy!

You have to use them, they insulate the positive pole from the negative tank tank assembly.
It being plastic is really the only part that won't last forever... so it is good to have since it is possible for it to wear down.

Guessing you haven't receive your DID yet, don't worry, it will be apparent where it goes (and it comes preinstalled, no worry)

Sorry that is greek to me. Do you use these spacers and are they worth it. I read both replies but I am clueless. I bought these but don't knwo why

Hey Mike, they are included with ever DID jim sells. The listing on his site are for spares.

To answer your question: yes you must have insulators tank top and tank bottom, but no you don't need to buy them separate as every complete DID comes with them installed.
