Well, I read through every post on ECF having to do with "The DID" and watched all the videos I could find!
And
I just put in my order for "The Short DID" - should look awesome on my ProVari Mini. I can hardly wait!
You won't regret it

It is a 2.2 ohm coil at 4.6 volts.
Thanks. I wrapped it around a #4/40 screw. One of the ones you find on the back of a computer.

Hmmmm, and one would think it would gain a bit of resistance being connected and wrapped / wet with juice, + internal device load. That's just what it is.
I used a piece of 32 gauge Kanthal A about 50mm long.

My leads are about 0.6 ohms

The wire measures about 3.0 ohms

The same size wire from the Kanthal supplied with the DID measures 2.3 ohms.

Go figure.
oh it's hurting what little bit of brain I have left.
. Couldnt get it to focus.
Since I'm still waiting on mine I have a few questions:
1)Is there any reason most of the pictures I have seen of everybody's setup the wick is much smaller than the one Jim uses in his "setup video".Just because it's easier or has some taste/less likely to "short"?
2)Who is using the "nuts" instead of just wrapping wire on the post? Why?
3)Who is using a wick made by one of the non-standard methods(other than heating/quenching/heating/quenching etc..).Benefits other than easier?

Edit @ Darryll. Thanks for the technical info. Gotta love it.![]()
