I have a question:
I realize that every wrap can turn out a little bit differently. It takes just a *tweak* to adjust for shorts of any kind. A short can produce symptoms such as a lack of vapor and even a lack of flavor. Correct?
With that said. Why would a *short* reduce the flavor? I understand how it could reduce vapor, but not flavor. I do not have a short of any kind in my DID right now, and I'm in 7th heaven. But, what about my next wrap... what if ... omg... what if I lack flavor because of a dumb short. Where would this short most likely be located? Is it one of the more difficult to find shorts?
A troubleshooting video would be cool too. :)

Uma, as far as I can tell, I would say a short likely reduces the surface being heated by the coil, and concentrates the burn in one small area. Since coil burn has been reduced, your receiving less vaporized juice, and less flavor, coupled with the harsh burnt flavor being generated in the short area. I can tell if I have a short, by taste and feel almost instantaneously now. Also I think you'll know you have a short by taste and harshness. Examine your coil, is one small area glowing hot? Do you find juice shooting out sidewise? These are signs of a short. First defense, a needle adjustment of coil, second defense, adjust wick to make sure it is not contacting center pole. All else fails, re-oxidize wick, rebuild coil. Have noticed 75% of time first two methods work well.

Mr. Mann that is incredable... THANK YOU sooooo much. Going bach thry 2900 posts to find an answer is horrible.

THANKS AGAIN
Mike N

FANTASTIC!!! Mr. Mann, you rock!!!
I'm quoting your database post, so I can find it easily in the future by searching through the "posts I've made".
I wish I had your organizing skills!
:vapor:  :vapor:

Thanks! I can honestly say that I have a lot of DID info in my head without ever having seen one in person. Jeez! LOL. I do want to stress that it should be a working index so the more experienced can have access to editing or adding more info that is relevant. As long as it is kept up to speed, it should free up some space for those that actually have a DID to commiserate on this thread. I DID the best that I could but with a little help it can be very thorough. Veterans, see post 2959 on the easiest way to edit, amend, or add to the list.

sw9668 just brought to my attention how to embed the actual post so that the link goes directly to said post. I have got to take some time off now, but I will try to get to converting that over a little bit at a time. I will post a message when it is done. Here we go again...LOL...what's another five days gonna hurt? hahaha.
It'll be done within two days.

Done as of today Friday July 27th.

Hi fellow DID-ers,

Just ordered my first DID from Jim order #1591. Been vaping on an egoC Type B with a Twist and an occasional pass-through, and, no offense to anyone, I'm tired of the leaks, the atomizers going bad, the constant tweaking and the occasional dry hit or burnt taste. I realize I have a lot of reading to do to get ready for this atomizer.

Thanks for all you posts and advice on shorts, wick-building, coil wrapping, etc.

Hey Uma, The juice has to be vaporized to produce the flavor. So no or little vapor = little or no flavor. ;)

@ Mr Mann. Awesome job, I know that was allot of work. I guess that notebook is getting pretty full. :) Thanks

Edit: Uma, oop;s, I see Ricklyn had ya covered.

Welcome! You're going to love the DID (once you master the wrap and coil of the RBA in general). I never ever get a dry hit with mine. (barring too thick of a juice with too quick of a chainvape with too high # of mesh). It really is one sweet atty!!!!

Mr Mann!! This is amazing! Thank you for this you have outstanding organizing skills and I commend you. This will help me and so many others out there. You are truly an aid to this community. Thanks again for taking your time to do this.

Thread Index:
~All numbers refer to post numbers. Set your post per page in general settings to 40 posts per page to ensure accurate linking to proper posts. (You will still have to scroll through to find the post, so I would recommend dragging the link to a new window so that The Index page can stay open as a cross-reference.) Any set of number divided by a "/" indicates question or issue and response or resolution. There very well may be some mistakes contained within these numerous links, so if you find one, what you can do is edit this page by quoting it and deleting the quote tags; add an asterisk by the rectified link--do this as well if there is additional info that you think should be included. (Or, if you want to create a post specifically to link in The Index.) Of course a lot was left out, but I tried to keep it as neat as possible, so as to not put too much superfluous and or redundant information (but there will be some) in The Index. This can and should be a working Index and all I ask is that you respect the time and work that went into it. If Jim wants to open a new thread so this can be constantly revised there, it may keep this thread cleaner. This was made by me forthe novice Genesis users and as a generaly gift to Jim, but if you are confident that something should not be included or should be added, just do it like I DID it. --Mr.Mann **

For further tips on editing The Index, see post #2959 (3 posts below). Edit*** I will work on embedding the links to go directly to the posts, but I need a break for the moment, but I should be finished with the embedding within two more days.

guys this is my experience with the DID that I received just before two hours. from the shipping date to arrival is 9 days
and I received my first rebuildable atomizer before three days, so my experience is just three days.

the package was in perfect condition, and I put everything together, and oxidize the mesh five times I used the mesh 325 that cames with the kit. I did it with 2/3 wraps and filled it up with ejuice, and put it in Vtube SS, and I was scared because I do expect something different especially when you see the quality of this device which is the best vaping quality device I have ever purchased. when I fired it up, I was shocked and I just said oh my god. I mean people it is just perfect and stable vapes, and I wanted to change the wire to play with it but I did't, because I think the setup can't be better (or may be it can). the vapor is awesome and yes when you open up the filling screw you will get more vapor, but what I did I opened the filling screw but not completely, and I get as much vapor as the screw opened completely, and you can turn it up side down temporary without leaking.
I'm just amazed, this is my first build and got it right, so I would like to thank Jim for this and all DID lovers, and the DID :)
and I thought if I get it I will have many questions, but no I have no Question

now I can vape proudly :vapor:

Honestly Jim, your whole approach to all of us is the gift! (Not saying I wouldn't accept a personal gift from you! ;) ) This thread is made up of so many good posts and probably 99% of the posters are really decent individuals. I think it all starts at the top and we are just playing our parts in accordance with how awesome you are. While I have only been on this thread for a few weeks, after reading the whole thing, I feel like I have gotten to know so many of you. I look forward to receiving the DID I purchased and using The Index myself. Jim, this is your thread and I love being welcome here.

Now back to our regularly scheduled DID talk. :)

Lazerrred, it wasn't much work...unless you consider a ton of work a lot of work. LOL. Hey Laz, how long are you keeping one wick going? I've seen some say two weeks up to a month.
Hey MM, I'm on my second wick now (due to size experimenting and fiddling the first day or two). But over a month now for the wick and I'm on my second coil and it's firing strong. My second & third DID have the original wicks and coils in them. (about three weeks now)

I'ts 97 outside and the AC and ceiling fans are all wide open blowing the vapor, but I think you can get and idea of how it's doing. :)
