Purists will say distilled, I use tap
Well call me Sammy Davis Jr., cuz I am going to use tap to get me where I want to be.

Nice! I'm running 34awg twisted coils now so need a 3/4. Your setup looks clean.
Holy moly, just did the math. @3.7v you're pulling 15watts? Wow, my sweet spot is between 8-9 so I target 1.6ohm to 1.8ohm![]()

Rweschler is a vaping monster... lol he pushes 20+ watts on the regular IIRC.. pretty sure he has a video of him vaping at like 30 watts? I'm not sure though.
I just kept chasing a hotter vape, not sure I can handle much more than 20 right now. The Kick has been sitting collecting dust for a couple months now lol
Tap water works, but it adds the minerals and other hearty deposits that can and will shorten the life of your coils and wick. Distilled water is a cleaner vape. Can I quench the wick in tap water or just distilled water?

I think 6 coils is a good number. Try the 7/6 wrap?having a bit of an odd time with my DID.
I have tried everything... 1.6 Kanthal D, 2.0 Kanthal D, Nichrome and so on. 2/3 wrap, 3/4 wrap, 4/5 wrap... I always always end up with a coil at about 0.9 - 1.1 ohm no matter what.
I don't get it.. When creating the coil it often ends up at about 2.0-2.2 ohms, but it drops quickly to about the 0.9-1.1 ohms...
I don't know what to do... I'd like a coil at 1.5-1.7 ohms or higher.. but have no idea how to get it there anymore...
Any thoughts, ideas? I get no hotspots, and it works... but yes... would like a bit higher number of ohms.
Great tip!!! Thanks to you both!Something I just stumbled upon (adapted from CW's advice): To determine which mesh you have in your hands, hold both of them up and look through them onto your computer screen. Keep the non-looking eye closed and move back slowly. The 325 will allow the words on the computer screen to be a little more legible further back than the 400, which really starts to obstruct the words on the screen.
p.s. Thanks CW!
So couple of questions... I seem to have a decent setup going with my second try and wrapping a coil. I believe it's a 2/3 wrap sitting at 1.4~ ohms. When firing with the cap off, I don't see any hot spots nor does my Provari give me any error messages (though I did get a couple of E8 errors which is strange...though all seems to be ok atm)
Anyway, flavor seems decent, not intense like some are reporting, but decent. Would hot spots still show through if the coil/wick is wet with juice? I'm afraid to poke/twist/prod too much to attempt an improvement. I still have some breaking in to do, so things may continue to improve.
I guess I'm just being pessimistic, as I was sure I'd have more trouble than I'm having, but without much experience I wouldn't know if there's room for improvement, ya know?
Hi Uma,
Does one need a thicker wick to have thicker vapor? I'm getting very thin vapor with 4/5 wraps with 1.6ohms.
