The main issue with leaks these days is either improper reassembly or not closing the top properly as lack of vacuum can allow juice to ooze past o'rings.

Sometimes huge changes in barametric pressure from low to high can cause leaks. And storing in say, a hot car can thin a juice enough for minor leaks. But thanks to cnc machinery and better qc from a lot of companies has made things much less troublesome in general.

Pods come in all kinds of configurations these days. Mainly look for refillable types and decide fire button or auto draw.

Happy shopping.

Well, I bit the bullet and bought a smok rpm40 pod system and some juice called salt juice or something. It’s going to be my on the go vape. I also bought a vaporesso gen with a big tank for at home use with regular juice. I’m sure I got them both at an extremely high price but it was at a local store and it’s just to hold me over until I figure out all the new stuff out there.

Are pods just the gas station JUUL things?
No, there are many kinds. Look for refillable and with on/off switch. Many are really an AIO but called a "pod" just because they look like one. I mentioned the frenzy as a better option than a pod. You don't have to get a replaceable battery mod (there are many mod/tank starter kits with internal battery that are fine) but in the end, you will be better off with replaceable battery type (get 2 batteries so you have an extra when needed) Don't really need a 2 batter mod unless you want high wattage. Be aware that many of the starter kits come with a "sub-ohm" cloud chaser tank... they are still a good deal (and you can play with those tanks for fun) but still look for a MTL type tank. On websites, look for the word "clearance". Be aware of the VG/PG ratio of juices... very important for leaking issues and also relates to what device/tank you are using. Higher VG = thicker, more clouds. Lower VG = thinner, wicks better in coil. Persoanlly, I like 65VG/35PG.

JAFYI...

"Nicotine Salts" is a different way to process Nicotine verses what was around since you have been here.

The Concept is that Nicotine Salts are said to be Smoother. And have Less Harshness at a given mg/ml. So the average user can use a Higher mg/ml than they Normally may use without getting a Harsher Hit.

This can be a Big Advantage for an On-the-Go setup. Or a Pod Mod in general.

To me, It's kinda one of those 6 or 1/2 Dozen things.

Some people swear by Nicotine Salts. And say that their release was an Epoch in the History of Vaping. Others (like myself) are more "Eah... I guess they are OK".

And of course, there is Everything In between.

All that Really Matters is if You like them. And or if you see a Benefit to being able to use a Higher mg/ml with them.

Nice mod... did you get two batteries? Separate charger? Do you know anything about the tank? Most likely sub-ohm cloud chaser (I would really suggest getting another tank also... something a bit tamer) The "salt" juice is fine for the pod, but you need different juice for that tank. Interesting pod... large battery, juice capacity and up to 40 watts. No offense, but being a Smok brand, make sure and turn it off when not using!

I'm guessing you paid too much, but hey, if it keeps you off cigs it's worth it! I could have suggested deals and you would have 2 pods, 2 mods, batteries and a charger, and 2 tanks (I'm not kidding... I'm a bargain hunter) but some might take a long time getting shipped to you. Best wishes and happy vaping.
Woops... just noticed you got regular juice for the mod/tank :thumb:

I’m 100% sure I paid too much, but if they last me 2 weeks and keep me off cigarettes then it will have been worth it. I’m still open to suggestions,...the last time I was vaping I always was on the hunt for the next toy.

The GEN came with two batteries, no charger, I was told it’s possible to charge in device. Years ago I knew that was a terrible idea and I was hoping technology has improved enough to make that safe. I’m guessing that’s still a bad idea? I also know nothing about the tank. I will take pictures and upload them to get more information. It definitely puts out clouds but the hit is light. I don’t care for clouds,...I need the throat hit.

Honestly I think if I would have just gotten the smok device I would have been happy. Are they known to blow up? My last internal battery device caught fire and pushed me back to cigarettes. I’m super nervous about that.

Now that you've had a day with the pod and the salt nic, how's the experiencing been?

Yes, it's still recommended to charge replaceable batteries in an external charger. In mod charging is handy in an "emergency" or if traveling so you don't have to pack a charger, but best practices are to use a charger.

As to internal charging, if the pod is built that way it's your only choice. Best practice there is to charge on a non-flammable surface and to charge only when you're around, not out of thr house or overnight while sleeping in case something does go wrong. As to Smok, they have their QC problems and are usually not the first brand ever suggested here, but for the short bridge time of use until you have a full time system you like it will hopefully hold together.

I just googled geek vape frenzy. Is it really only ~30$? I’m going to order one right now. What single battery mod would you recommend just to get me back in business? I’m skeptical on tanks due to the issues I’ve had in the past, but would be willing to give them a shot if you have one with good experience. Are pods just the gas station JUUL things?

Some are, but there’s a wide variety. I have a AsMODus Flow pod. It’s refillable, and uses pods, can’t just swap the coil, draw activated.

But there are loads of them now.

I normally use an external battery mod and have bunches of them. I can’t really help you with mtl atties as I’m more dl, but you might consider a squonkers since you’re used to dripping. RDAs are easy to find and easy to use, like you said, no tanks to leak.

One I’d recommend is Topside. There’s a dual version also. The single will use 18650 or 21700 batteries. Lots of us have and love them.

Honestly I’m loving the smok rpm and nic salt. I use it more than the mod because the mod seems to just put out huge clouds without any hit. I wish I would have just bought 2 pod devices. It’s probably just the tank and atty that came with the mod in displeased with, but the smok is just so much more convenient. I’m nervous though because everything I’ve read says to not use salt with sub ohm device but my smok is reading the pod at .6ohm. I don’t know how to raise it. To compare my mod read the tank at .2ohm.
