Hi pilot. I'm a newer vaper myself. I got my first personal vaporizer in December of 2012. I had been smoking for more than 32 years, more than 2 packs a day for about 10 years, and I had absolutely no intention of giving up my cigarettes. Every time I had tried to quit it had meant unrelenting misery until I started smoking again, so I had seriously decided never to try to quit again. I only got the personal vaporizer to try to cut down on my smoking expenses.
I'm one of those vapers who quit accidentally. The day I got my first eGo-C setup in the mail I only smoked 2 cigarettes and I was really surprised. The first week I smoked one pack, and by the end of the month I was smoking one cigarette every few days. I still have a half full pack of cigarettes from the beginning of January sitting in my freezer...just in case I decide I want one. I haven't wanted one in weeks though. Compared to my vapes they just taste and smell really nasty, and I have had zero negative side effects from quitting this time. I never noticed any increase in my coughing, and it pretty much stopped completely in early January. I think I might have had some withdrawal type effects when I stopped smoking entirely in early January, but I honestly think that was actually a mild cold I caught from my husband.
I feel amazing. No misery. No withdrawals. No desire to smoke. No coughing. I can even dash up the stairs without feeling worn out. I wasn't having problems with getting winded on stairs before, but I definitely wasn't running up them either.
I don't have a provari, because I couldn't afford one to start. I just ordered my first variable voltage setup though, which should arrive this week (and then I will have four batteries to choose from).

I like my eGo 2200mah 18650 battery with a CE4/stardust clearomizer or a Vision Vivi Nova the best so far. I'm planning to try some other tank style atomizers once I get my variable voltage battery. I started at 24mg juice and use 18mg now. I plan to slowly reduce my nicotine, but I don't know if I'll ever want to quit vaping. I really like it...more than I ever liked smoking.
I was sure I'd want tobacco flavored juice, but so far the only juices I've hated have been the tobacco ones. My favorite flavors right now are cinnamon red hot, honesuckle, and red licorice. As everyone has said, tastes are very individual so you will have to find what you like for yourself. I would absolutely suggest you always try a small bottle (3 to 10ml depending on the vendor) before you order a large size. There are literally hundreds of flavors out there and you can waste a lot of money on flavors you really don't like if you start out ordering the 30ml size.
I also recommend not putting any pressure on yourself to quit, because I think that actually did help me finally quit without any misery. I tried and failed at least a hundred times, so I know I could never have quit without vaping, but I'm also sure that the self-induced stress of hating yourself for having a cigarette doesn't help anyone to quit. I 'slipped' lots of times this time, but since I really wasn't trying to quit (and there was no pressure) I would only have one cigarette (which I really didn't like) instead of chain smoking a pack, and then I'd go right back to my vapes.
Welcome to ECF, and good luck!
