Hi guys,

First post here! I've been reading for the past couple of weeks. Usually when I join a forum, I read for a long time before writing anything, since there is already an answer for anything. The reason I'm writing right now is that I have an emergency and seeking help from you experienced members. I, myself been vaping for about 3 weeks now but my questions are of a more important matter.

My uncle lives overseas and he recently underwent angiography. I'm trying to help him for his recovery. He's been smoking cigs for over 40 years and he smokes around 4 packs a day. As doctor stated, he can't smoke cigs anymore and it is very unlikely for him to stop, unless there's an alternative. Even though he smokes marlboro lights, he doesn't inhale it much due to his recent health problems.

So my question is which product would be the best fit for him, as he's mostly concerned about the amount of smoke? We're planning to reduce the amount of MG slowly. The money is not an issue but since my cousin will take it overseas, it has to be as reliable as possible.

Any help would be highly appreciated! Thanks in advance...

hmm ...this is a tough question. and will require some real love to find the right answer. y'all should get him a dependable but simple mod. not sure y'all should do vv vw, because it can be a bit overwhelming initially. the beauty of the evod/ego starter kits is they are simple. a nice simple introduction to gaping. parts and replacements are cheap. and as far as I know vaping is all over europe as well. might could get him a starter kit, with an extra tank or so. send a few flavors. and maybe put a simple side button mod like the cool fire in there as well. the catch is getting him to hit a flavor he has to vape everyday. thats the catch hope it world out, and keep us posted

I would ship him a Spinner2 and a protank mini ii and a bottle of good juice and instructions. Include a USB charger of course. This is the simplest rig and rarely fails. An extra box of coils would be nice too.

thanks, I'll definitely check it out. The good thing is that my cousin will deliver it himself so we don't have to ship it!

yes sir, that's the idea! as I said rather than getting something simple, we prefer getting something very reliable. Since my cousin will be with him, he can take care of the maintenance part..

What's your budget, that's the biggest question vamo is my favorite recommendation for 40 bucks.

Don't worry about cutting nicotine down, lots of people try to do that to fast and fight the urge to smoke again, take months not days or weeks...

Thanks a lot for the advice regarding nicotine!! We'll def keep this in mind.. Like I said, the price is not important for us, since this a matter of health.. We can go as high as possible..

thanks for all the recommendations! I've noticed that you recommended dif products and dif price range. My question is if you weren't concerned about the price, what would be your choice? in terms of reliability and providing lots of smoke..

If you have the money don't buy anything with ego, e anything, I anything, or fire, trustfire in the name those all work great for people and I don't want to be rude but they are not going to last.

Pushing the reo again, if you get a reo, reomizer, (the rebuildable atomizer for the reo) you can either build coils, or pay someone to do it every few months, coils will last you at least that long, and you can use cotton from anywhere to wick the coils, or rather one coil, watch a video on wicking a coil w cotton, it's super easy and necessary ever few days depending upon usage but that means cotton and juice are the only real things that you are going to be needing.... Ever. Pm me if you have any questions but it's my experience and opinion that I got my whole family to quit smoking by making equipment as simple and trustworthy as possible and reo,(reo grand, there are different models of them some are mechanical some are vv,) reomizer, cotton, batteries charger, juice is going to make it easy. On you and your family member.

Hey bud here is a good deal on a very good setup that has everything you need except juice and a charger but I bet he has a charger he'll give you for free

http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/showthread.php?t=574349
(US) - FS - Reo Mini 2.1 (18500 batt)

Check out that link ask him to build you a coil on each of the Atomizers, he has 3 but he wants extra for the third and you don't need it. If you decide you want to go forward with this I will take care of the deal as far as talking to him since you are new, I'll make sure your good to go, and BC your new I don't think you can talk to him in the classifieds, it's a rule here. Let me know but if you e want go quick because it's not going to last.

I think PuffZeppelin posted some great suggestions. I'd stick with something simple and small since he's beginning.

The two hardest problems is 1) finding the right juice and 2) education. If he can go to a vape shop, tell him to find a liquid locally that he likes the taste, then maybe you can suggest one for him. The second is education. Tell him that this isn't a cure, but more of a "harm reducing method" He'll need to understand that this won't replace smoking, or won't make him quit, but it's something he can go to if he does want to quit. If he has no desire to quit, Ecigs won't help him. If he has even the slightest desire to quit, then it might be worth an effort. At least some desire HAS to be there to quit.

As far as nic levels, I'd start off on the higher levels since he smokes four packs/day. 18mg or 24mg. Once he's settled on the Ecigs, then lower the niccotine levels. If anything, buy him a variety of nicotine levels, and teach him how to realize when he's getting too much nicotine. He can keep the same flavor, but limit his nicotine and not get an overdose.

It would probably be a good idea to give your uncle a few less expensive things to try before spending a lot for one device that well may end up not suiting his preferences.

I would give him an MVP 2 paired with an Aspire Nautilus, and an iTaste VV 3.0 paired with a Kanger Aerotank Mini. Buy plenty of extra heads if they are not available locally for your uncle. To see if he might like a bottom feeder like the Reo pick up a Vision Aurora BFT. The dripping atty that comes with it is junk so pick up a couple of standard resistance Cisco spec atties at Avid.

While they are obscenely expensive I would buy your uncle some NJOY King disposables to help with the transition to vaping. They are as simple to use as a cigarette and most closely mimic the smoking experience of any vaping device I've used. The NJOY Kings are very close in size and weight to a cigarette and even have a soft "filter". The high nic strengths that are available should also be a help for your uncle who is an extremely heavy smoker.

You might want to test the rebuilding waters with a Kayfun and a beginner RDA if you think that might be a realistic option.

Once your uncle has had a chance to test the options you will have a much better idea of where to invest money in more expensive gear if you think that would be needed.
