Hey David if your bored or if mom is bored, I am sure that wait would be much easier if we had a break down video showing the new contacts and stuff :) I know your busy and I am only half serious.

David lives 200 miles north of me, so I haven't seen the new Pluses in person. Just pics. I don't have a video or digital camera anyway.

I'm grateful that David doesn't tell me everything. I probably wouldn't sleep at night. I know he doesn't.

Order #7655: Precise Plus 18500 with a slanted cap. My first battery mod!

Hey. Me again. :pop:

So when I ordered this, I saw the option to choose an initial setup for either P18500 or AMR18490. At the time, I didn't pay much attention. 1500mah vs. 1100mah? No brainer, right? So I said set that bad boy up for a P18500, of course.

But I've been reading a little on the differences between the protected LiION and the no-protection-needed IMR's, and how the IMR's provide a more consistent voltage throughout the charged-to-drained cycle, and I'm a little curious now. I'm thinking of ordering some to try them out.

This brings me to my primary line of questions. What's the difference in the mod if I said "send me one with an initial setup for an 18500?" Will I still get a spacer that allows me to use an IMR battery if I wish, or is the mod's depth somewhat adjustable? In other words, what will I need to do in order to use an IMR 18490 with an 18500-configured PrecisePlus?

Probly nothing,The 18490 IMR is a little shorter than the 18500,If it like all my other superT stuff,it will have an extra o-ring to make up the difference. If the 18490 is loose, put that extra o-ring in the tube first, then the battery, you might have to adjust the amount you push the button.I'm sure MR superT hisself will get on later,he'll know for sure.

Hey Rojo azif is right, there is no difference btwn the mod that takes the 18490 and the 18500, it is the same mod just add some o-rings and washers or take some out ect. It would not be cost efective for David to make totally different mods for batteries that are so close in size. Btw, I wont use anything but Imr,s for me the sacrafice in mah is well worth the jump in voltage throughout the charge.

edit, to better answer your question, yes you will have what you need to use both the 18500 and the 18490, to be totally honest I am not sure where on the sight it asks about having it setup for either battery, I would assume that they all go out the same way so it is easier for David to ship them out but I couyld be wrong.

Man this is cruelty at its most excruciating. Less than a week after I finally receive my new P16 with the new finish and contacts, which I received less than a week after getting a P10 off the classifieds, these beauties come out. I'm a bit sad because now I want a P18500 too but I just can't bring myself to get one this soon after just receiving two Precises. I also can't believe I'm finding this post two days late. Why am I always so late to the party? And just why are these Precises so addictive. If I order one these new Pluses I could have it by monday. I"m gonna sleep on it. Yeah, that's what I'll do, I'll sleep on it, and then get one or two in the morning.

Just in case you missed it, but i will be offering a upgrade option for current P16/p18 owners to get the Rhodium and Locking buttons. I didn't want current P16/p18 owners to feel left behind :)

I've actually been setting the PrecisePlus 18500 up based on what batteries they intend to run in them (the shopping cart has a drop down menu so you can choose IMR 18480 or P18500 battery set Up). You can change the setup to run either.

Heres the setup, so keep this post in mind for later quoting and reference:

PrecisePlus 18350:

- When running AW IMR 18350 (only battery i recommend for it). One .100 thick Oring under the battery and one washer under the switch contact post. Note: It comes setup this way, so you will not to do anything to it, just drop in your AW IMR 18350 and Vape!

PrecisePlus 18500:

-When running AW IMR 18490 run two .100 thick Orings under the battery and 4 washers under the switch contact post

-When running AW Protected 18500 run One .100 thick Oring under the battery and one washer under the switch contact post

So regardless, they'll come shipped with two O-rings and four washers; but you'll just have them already inserted appropriately according to the user's preference at checkout, right? Gotcha.

Yeah I guess I would not have seen that since I ordered a 18350, I am really glad that the 18350 is based on the aw imr 18350, i love that battery and hate wasted space i n a mod.
