Hello guys,

My name is Paxon, I'm a college student, I live in the heart of Chicago.

I'm new to the whole vaping world... It started a few days ago when I went down to 711 to buy a pack and I decided to buy an nJoy disposable e-cig. It was awesome, besides the fact that it was gone by the end of the night. 2 Packs? No way.

Anyway, I experimented with the other disposable vapes they had like the electronic hookah, etc, because it was so fun and it kept me from smoking analog cigs. The next day I bought a rechargeable e cig they had out of excitement (with no knowledge of whats beyond 711's counter...), which was a 21st century smoke brand rechargeable e cig.. I thought I would be set and I could just buy the refill cartridges, but it tasted so fake and the vape wasn't great. After some research, I decided Blu was the best bet.

The next day I went to Walgreens and bought the Blu starter kit, again, thought I would be set for GOOD now! The kit was nice, I liked the PCC and all the components look very sleek, but the flavors sucked pretty bad. As I started realizing how much I loved vaping with my blu, I started doing deep research about the bigger vapes and tanks, etc. I soon realized my Blu will work nice when going out, vaping on the cta train, etc... But in the end I really want to start getting into some of the cool vapes. So I joined this site so I can ask questions and increase my knowledge.

I'm looking forward to my time here! If you have the time, post ONE random fact of information about vaping for me to read, something like what mAh means. I'll start learning more with these facts. Thanks!

Google is your friend on some stuff.

Milliamp Hour (mAh)

Milliamps Hour (mAh) is important because it's the easiest way to distinguish the strength or capacity of a battery. The higher the mAh, the longer the battery will last. Batteries with different mAh ratings are interchangeable. If your battery is rechargeable then the mAh rating is how long the battery will last per charge.

Milliamps Hour is 1/1000th of a Amp Hour, so a 1000mAh = 1.0Ah

Think of a cars gas tank. Voltage is how much gas is being used, and mAh is the size of the gas tank. The bigger the gas tank (mAh) rating the longer the device will run. If your battery is rechargeable, then think of the gas tank as refillable (rechargeable).

Okay here is a random fact for you. If you ever think you want a tobacco flavor that tastes exactly like cigarette smoke--forget it. Those don't exist.

A lot of people have tried searching for one that tastes like that (including myself), no one has ever found one yet--indeed probably never will find one that tastes "exactly like smoking a <insert favorite brand here>." Nothing quite tastes like burning tobacco leaves, and nothing ever will taste exactly like that, well except burning tobacco leaves. Besides there are so many better flavors to try out. Vaping isn't a substitute for smoking, it is better than smoking.

Here is an other. Njoy says their King lasts for 2 packs because of the nicotine content of the juice in the cartomizer. The reason it doesn't last as long as however long 2 packs lasts you is because of the battery. Remember it is disposable for a reason.

I actually have quickly found out that the e cigs that try to imitate real analogs are repulsive. I started smoking to be cool years and years ago.. kept smoking for the nicotine. The flavor I was never huge on which is probably why I smoked menthols. I actually love how the vape tastes awesome and you can get different flavors... I will never buy tobacco flavors. I think thats why I hate Blu's flavors, they are all representative or at least trying to represent a real cigarette. Today my friend offered me a Marlboro Red though and I couldnt smoke half after even using a Blu for a few days.

Well I merely pointed it out because a lot of people have tried the race of hunting a vape that tasted like "just like smoking <insert brand here>." I've heard from a lot of new people that try vaping the first time that they want a vape that tastes exactly like whatever they smoked. It is a pointless endevor, and one that from what I've seen people are happier if they don't get on. I was lucky in that I got off it after I got my taste back and realized I really didn't like the taste of "cigarette flavor" juice.

Though I do like 1 so-called tobacco flavor but it tastes like no cigarette or pipe tobacco I've ever smoked. The best way to describe it would be a very sweet honey-like flavor with a slight hint of smoke. But I only like that flavor, the other tobacco flavors I've tried were either "meh" or "ewww gross".

Myself, I was a bit less prejudiced, I think, to trying flavors other than tobacco because while I smoked for 20 years but 15 of that was pipe smoking and there are literally thousands of different kinds of pipe tobaccos, many of which attempt at trying to taste nothing like tobacco--and those never deliver either btw. I've thought about trying some menthols--I never cared for menthol cigarettes, I'd smoke them if I had nothing else but not my first choice. More like my fourth choice. Pipe, then Camel, then regular whatever cigs, then menthol cigs.

I've never tried blu's cartos. I plan to buy some as back ups at some points since blu uses a 510 connection and I primarily use ego style batteries, so I can hook up a blu carto to all my batts should I run out of juice for some ungodly reason.

Blu uses Johnson Creek juices in their cartos and Johnson Creek is supposedly a really good juice vendor. I wouldn't know myself--I've never bought from them, I'm kinda paranoid about buying stuff off the internet anyway and happen to have a good B&M in my hometown.

As to not smoking, try this one out. When I was in my not smoking phase the first day I managed to not smoke for like 48 hours, but I started having an overwhelming desire to smoke real tobacco. So I loaded up half a bowl of my pipe tobacco (still have it too for some reason) and light it up. I finished that half bowl, but it tasted like someone had forced a Ghost Pepper (the world's hottest chili) that had been used to clean a public ash tray into my mouth. Utterly disgusting. Since then I've not smoked except for two more times (both due to intense cravings).

I think it was related to detoxing off the other stuff in tobacco. I had plenty of nicotine.

Welcome to ECF.
My :2c:...
Regular eGo class/ style PVs ( eGo, Kgo, Spinners, Twist) the batteries are disposable. After 250-300 recharges the battery (which includes the electronics) go in the garbage. With variable voltage Tube Mods the batteries are separate from the electronics so when the batt dies simply buy another for $10 or less and pop it in the Tube. With the recent release of many lower priced VV Mods it's now worthwhile to consider VV Tube Mods rather than the eGo class PVs.
I just bough a Stainless Steel VV Mod and 4 X 2250 mah highly rated batteries for $57.00 incl shipping.

Google kept bringing me here. :)

My random fact: After vaping for a little while, regular cigarettes will taste lame and/or like 1,000 a**holes. They will also become incredibly boring.

ETA: Another random fact: Juices that are flavoured as alcoholic beverages, such as whiskey, rum and soda, and piña colada, won't even give you the slightest buzz. Bummer. :(

1. Taste is subjective. What one person likes (recommends) in an e-liquid may be totally disgusting to you today but may be the ultimate vape 3 months from now (or not).

2. You can spend a WHOLE LOT of $$$ finding e-liquids you like. At $12-15 for a 30ml bottle, e-liquid can be expensive (especially when you add in $3-5 in shipping fees) Try to find deals on sampler packs before ordering larger qty's. See #1 above

3. You can spend a WHOLE LOT of $$$ on devices and supplies. Leave this forum NOW, you'll thank me later! (just kidding) Don't be tempted to buy every new wiz bang item you read about. There will always be something better. Research, research, research!
