Anyone else out there go crazy when starting e-cigs and bought all kinds of stuff?

I wonder if I'm addicted to buying vaping paraphenilia as much as vaping itself! Over the last 3 weeks playing with the new toy and figuring out how it works, reading the e-cig forum etc I've made the following purchases in order:

1) v6 Prodigy 3.1 full kit
2) e-Juice: Fire & Ice, SLT, Sweet Tooth sample pack
3) 5 510 attys
4) 2 drip tips
5) 5 pack of regular 510 cartos
6) e-Juice: Cherry cola, Applewood, RY4
7) GoGo kit
8) 5 pack jumbo 510 carts
9) e-Juice: 5 pack Lung Juice, 2 HV octane juice
10) 2x 3.7 volt long batteries for 3.7v vaping on the Prodigy + charger
11) 4 HR cartos
12) 4 LR cartos
13) 2 LR attys
14) e-Juice: Pina colada
15) more e-Juice (different vendor): Boba's bounty, Root beer, C&D, Strawberry cooler, sweet tart

Sadly, the package carrying #8/9 arrived torn and were missing. And I'm honestly thinking about re-ordering those!

Anyone else out there go crazy the first month and buy a boatload of stuff?

(first ever post)

I actually only spent 80$ on a KR808D kit and a 30ml bottle of tobacco flavored high nicotine juice. (non china so overpriced!)

Lasted me a good two months and i've only spent cash on extra batteries/cartos/juices.

Had a chance to get a new cig but instead i went for... More KR808D batts! I really love this toy, what can i say!

I'm a bit intimidated at the prospect of the one hundred (thousand) different ways to vape, i'm not sure if i want to know about the "better" things out there because i am approaching 6 months cig free and have very few complaints about my e-cig (once i learned how to treat it right)

Also, googled what a Prodigy is... Looks like a screwdriver! :p

Well, if you have the money, why not. Using N e-cig is "less unhealthy" so switching to it from cigarette is already good. Beside, the cost of purchasing cigarettes for a few months supply is much more than you have already spent.
I do know one thing though. Since I started vaping a few months ago, my choice of atties, batteries, and juices have changed quite a bit. If I were you, I wouldn't stock up your atties, cartos, and juices too much.

Man, I kinda got lucky...

Me and my friend both lucked our way into the Tornado tank as our first PV on valentines day this year. We halved the cost of the starter package cos it comes with 2 of everything.

Believe it or not, the atys we got are still going. So six days short of 2 months, and we have spent about 200 dollars betwen us. LOL and that includes 6 months of liquid supply.

I am now looking to get a nice battery MOD though cos the 600MA is simply not getting me through the day anymore.

Eastsider, Welcome to ECF > You certainly have enough now to entertain yourself for a while. Get to know what you bought before you buy more. That is a lot for the first 3 weeks, but better than wasting money on an overpriced mall kit/proprietary kit.

Gormdog, Welcome to ECF > If you have been using your KR808 kit and are happy with it, stick with it. You might want to stop reading this site because people tempt you with all kinds of stuff. I am amazed you have been vaping only one juice for two months. First person on ECF that I have seen that has done this. You haven't turned vaping into a hobby.

I'm not sure if it's related to reading this forum or if there really is something in the juice that gets us addicted to buying more vaping stuff than we can possibly use, but it's a common phenomenon. I personally have 6 PVs, 2 passthroughs and a dozen bottles of juice in front of me right now and would be hard pressed to give you a logical reason why! One eGo and 3ml of my favorite Latakia blend can easily get me through every day. There's just something about this stuff that makes us keep browsing and buying.

BTW, welcome to the ECF to all of you!

I think I overdo things when they are "brand new".
The prodigy IS huge like a screwdriver! I can't believe I'm using it. Its heavy too. But it works really well for TH, vapor etc.

I was seriously thinking to start with the kr808d-1 because it seemed to be the one highest rated around here that actually looked closest to a real smoke. I still think this would be the best one for driving in the car and not sticking out too much in public with. I can see people look at me funny when I pull out the Prodigy and start puffing away. They probably think its a crack pipe or something.

I have walked around several times (outside/bars) and had people ask me for a puff thinking my KR808D was a real cigarette. And mine is all black.

Very nice little smoking device, I don't know if you got into vaping to quit, but it would drive me crazy using heavy machinery that didn't feel like a cig in my hands (plus ou moins).

And, yes, I would totally think you were smoking a crack pipe. That, or, some sort of screwdriver .....

There are lots of posts very much like this on ECF. I even started one shortly after I started vaping.

If it makes you feel better, my list was a LOT worse than yours is, LOL. Look at it this way, you're stocking up, starting out on a great new hobby ... and saving your life.

A lot of us have a bit of OCD tendency, and I think the hobby aspect/collecting/hording ... buying in excess, helps us stay off cigarettes. So, enjoy ... but, don't forget the car payment is due, LOL.

WELCOME TO THE EFC!!!!

It's good to see another washingtonian on here. To answer your question. Yeah, I've went pretty crazy. All in all I spent about 200 bucks in less than a week LOL

1. ego-t type b starter kit
2. 3 50ml bottles from madvapes
3. 2 30ml bottles from good prophets
4. 2 additional atomizers

It's all for the good so I don't mind. Just as long as I quit cigs

Welcome to ECF everyone. Slam on the breaks and make sure you like what you have bought before you continue. The biggest quest is finding the right kit or mod that works for you and some great juice. I don't even want to remember what I spent the first month or even now...but here is what I have in my holders as of this minute:

1 ProVari that hubby uses
4 Buzz's by notcigs
2 Infinites by notcigs
2 Prodigy V3's by puresmoker
1 Icon by puresmoker
1 Megalodon by electronicstix
1 GGTB by cloudsofvapor (Golden Greek Telescopic Battery)
1 510cropduster box mod by 901cropduster
5 eGo batteries
10 510 batteries
901 passthrough
1500ml of juice (approximate)
80 atty's of different types (approximate)
100 cartomizers (approximate)
CE-2's out the wazoo
10 MAP tanks
10 storm tanks
10 mini storm tanks
....and more stuff but didn't feel like digging.

...oh and more stuff in transit.

I'll never break even but I love my new hobby and addiction.

I have never even tried e-cigs before. I will be trying to break a 25 year analog habit. I am waiting for my kits to arrive.

So far I bought:

1. Apollo Extreme Starter Kit
2. 2- 5 pack of Pre-filled Cartomizers
3. Riva 510 - Lite Bundle Starter Kit from LF
4. 2 bottles of E Liquid 30ML
5. Black Joye eGo Zipped Case
6. 1- 5 pack of Smart Carts
7. New ashtray for my e-cigs

Then, I find myself looking at buying extra batteries and atomizers. I can see how it can get addictive, hopefully! Best Wishes! :)

Eastsider - I have a KR808d-2 and love it (it's pretty much the same as a d-1 but with a different thread pattern. Why, I have no clue!). Best price I've found on the KR's is AZsmokefree.com He has replacement batteries too (like $12 each?) and ships fast. Been very happy (not a fan of his juice, though). I love having an e-cig that looks like a cig - it confuses everyone. lol

IMHO that when starting out, don't go too crazy (words of wisdom on this, trust me) because what you buy now will most likely not be what direction you'll go in after a couple of months. It's exciting at first because it really does get you off cigarettes but there is bigger and better out there. I could have saved myself at least 1k. There are high quality liquids, mods, etc you'll want to try!
Good luck and Good Hoarding!!

I have a EgoT and a 808. The Ego is better at some things (sitting around; all day vape), which the 808 is still being used a ton too (out and about vape, planes/travel, etc). A mod (or a big momma like the Ego) is great for at home stuff, but I don't see myself getting rid of the 808 anytime soon, it's just so convenient; easy to carry, and doesn't look like I've made a "screwdriver ...." and am hitting it in public. :)

IMHO, I think many people will have an "out and about" vape (that, in many cases, looks something like an analog) and a "home vape" that may be something like a big EgoT, a box mod, or some other "crack pipe look alike" device.

The 808, for me, was a great first step! Honestly, it's all about finding the right carto/flavor/strength, with the 808 it almost couldn't be easier to change them around. I recommend getting a PCC for the 808, the normal size battery doesn't last long enough to go a whole day without some time in a charger. But, right now, as I write this, my EgoT is home and I'm on a business trip for the next 5 days with just the 808 (2 batteries) a few cartos, some liquid (to refill carts until they die) and a PCC. It's a nice light travel setup, no mess, no fuss, no liquid to leak, etc.
