I've done similar over my 2 1/2 months of vaping. I hope to settle into a less frenetic pattern of spending. The only current item on my want list is the Vortex Cartomizers coming soon from GotVapes. I'm sure there's a sexy VV out there somewhere in my future. I have a small parts order coming to finish off my 1st home-brew battery mod. While not elegant, it will be a VV.

Are there vapors who settle into a pretty much consistant flavor and small set of equipment?

I help support
- Vapors, Etc.
- One Stop DIY shop
- ExtremeVaping
- MadVapes

I've been vaping less than two weeks and these are the different orders I've made so far:

1. Starter kit from V2 cigs for 64.00
2. kit was taking too long to arrive so also ordered Joye 510 starter kit from Litecigusa.net
3. 5 pack of cartomizers and 10ml juice for 510
4. a second bottle of different flavored juice just to try it out
5. 5 pack of cartomizers for the kr808 plus a third bottle of juice and an extra battery

It seems like every two days another package is coming to the house for me. The only one I'm currently waiting on is #5. The 510 is a manual kit and when the V2 kit FINALLY arrived, I found that I really liked the automatic battery more than the manual. Just have to be very careful that I don't overfill the cartomizers. I hope I'm done ordering anything for now, my wallet needs a break. I want to use up some of the juice, and see how long I can get those cartomizers to last. Time will tell...

I've spent well over 10k going on 3 yrs so far and it's not stopping however I'm buying much smarter these day and definitely not buying every new item that comes out like I use to. Now I wait until stuff is proven and I do mean proven, I have a big enough arsenal to hold me down for years if need be so when I buy now its only if something is dam good and I really want or need it

Wow, i feel like a noob...all I have is the V2 Kit that I bought over 2 weeks ago and the only thing I have bought since were more carts. I feel at this point, this is all i need to get off the analogs as this move was based on me quitting the habit. Patches weren't enough as I realized satisfying my physical addiction needed help so i turned to the e-cig. So far, I enjoy the heck out the e-cig even though I have snuck a few analogs along the way. Big dif in taste but the feeling is about the same. I like not smelling like an ashtray and actually, my sense of smell has gotten better.

Guess I'll stick with what I get for now until I figure out how this juice thing works with blank carts...sounds like a lot of work just to "light up". lol :)

2 days short of a month vaping, and I managed to spend $500.... Yikes! I would spend about half that on cigarettes, but I think I'm set for a while :)

- RN-4081 sized (supermini) starter kit (2 batts, charger, usb charger, case)... 75 cartomizers (they were on sale)... 50 left...
- Juice samplers from Johnson's Creek, HoneyVille, and Alien Visions .... 21 flavors, 106ml ... probbaly 95mls left.. cartomizers worked way better refilling with higher PG juices
- 60ml of unflavored 24mg/ml 100% PG, 60ml of 100% VG
- Just picked up an eGo passthrough battery to try a "510" system rather than a whole new starter kit, also got 5 LR and 5 Standard resistance Joye attys, same # LR and SR EM attys, and 4 drip tips

Cleaned an atty and have been dripping for 2 hours and it's a way better experience than the super mini with the VG juices, the flavor and vapor is much better than through the cartomizers (although I do really like the pre-filled cartos and will continue to use the supermini daily)

Will drip try the rest of the juices, and then decide what's more important to me for my next PV.... juice feeder or variable wattage.

I just added up all the e-cig related orders I've made in the past two weeks and I came up with $187! Yikes! After my post above saying I wasn't going to order anything for awhile to give my wallet a break, I decided to order more cartomizers and juice tonight. I'm going to need to hide my credit card from myself before I end up like you, Quitting4good. ;-)

Welcome to ECF everyone. Slam on the breaks and make sure you like what you have bought before you continue. The biggest quest is finding the right kit or mod that works for you and some great juice. I don't even want to remember what I spent the first month or even now...but here is what I have in my holders as of this minute: 1 ProVari that hubby uses 4 Buzz's by notcigs 2 Infinites by notcigs 2 Prodigy V3's by puresmoker 1 Icon by puresmoker 1 Megalodon by electronicstix 1 GGTB by cloudsofvapor (Golden Greek Telescopic Battery) 1 510cropduster box mod by 901cropduster 5 eGo batteries 10 510 batteries 901 passthrough 1500ml of juice (approximate) 80 atty's of different types (approximate) 100 cartomizers (approximate) CE-2's out the wazoo 10 MAP tanks 10 storm tanks 10 mini storm tanks ....and more stuff but didn't feel like digging. ...oh and more stuff in transit. I'll never break even but I love my new hobby and addiction.
i believe the post but not the signature line: $3463.51 saved vaping (i believe the 14,283 analogs passed up--wish i could say the same. i'd estimate (don't have the patience to really look back lets say $1000+ spent 2500 analogs avoided. i paid .40 a to avoid a .30 cigarette. ($6 a pack in CA) so as of now i've paid a dime for each cigarette avoided. (even though i have beenvaping for 15 months i've been analog free about 5 of those)

p.s. i did recently stock up on a 500ml 48 mg nic supply that cut to 24 = 1 liter of juice for a mere $53 including shipping. that is a 333 1/3 day supply at a good 3 ml a day clip. a mere .16 for the basic nic. add 2.00 for a cartomizer good for at least 2 days using a $20 battery warrantied for 6 months = $1.37 a day? vs my old 15 cig a day habit $4.50 well of course i will be out buying hardware and more bats and experimental cartomizers and so on...well like i said, even if i am paying a dime for each cigarette i avoid i feel ok. my break even target date is 2015....my drop dead date is....

I think I started out with some of the worst luck ever. In the 12 weeks I've been vaping I've had to buy 2 standard 4081 batteries, a mega 4081 and two mega 510s, with all the carts, attys, chargers that go with them. I seem to get batteries that, after two or three days, won't hold a charge for more than about 30 min. I work at the computer a lot and I have 3 USB chargers going at all times so, when one battery dies, I put it in the charger and take another one out. What a hassle! I just found out about the usb-passthroughs ... wish I'd known about them a few weeks ago.

But haha! Today I got my Mega 1000mah Tornado in the mail so I think (I hope) those troubles are over. We'll see.

And yes, with all the various bottles, flavors, batteries, chargers, carts and syringes laying around my computer, I feel like a real junkie. But, being a gadget guy, it's still kinda fun.

We spent $190.00 total to start on equip/accessories for 3 so that's between $60 and $65 per person. We spent a little over $110.00 on juices. 10 flavors a total of 140ml (40ml of two flavors because we reordered bigger bottles of two we liked.

We found at least 3 more we like in this order. we're paying $6.00 for the 10ml and $14.00 for the 30ml. If we ever quit finding flavors we like from this vendor we may be able to try another. I saw a review of an Irish coffee flavor I'm dying to try.

I spent enough on real cigarettes in a week to purchase a new ecig kit and juice every week . Was paying $10 a pack . Once you settle into your vaving method you should only need to spring for new attys ever so many months and juice and eventually a battery . Buying lots at first does help find out what you like but you don't have to do it so fast. let some of the savings build up first then spend only part of that money on new things . Parts wear out so you know sooner or later you will be buying again .

It's real easy to get caught up in the fervor of vaping, especially when it offers so many interesting things to purchase and flavors to vape.

I'm ever mindful, though, that I started this as a way to escape the ever increasing price of cigarettes, not to exchange an expensive habit for a more expensive hobby.

I try to remind myself of the same thing: you quit smoking to save money. My husband and I have been vaping for the past 10 days and we have already spent around $200 on equipment and juice. At $6 a pack, twice a day...that comes out to $120! I really have to try to keep myself in check. What makes it hard at first is finding the right PV and the right juice. I spent $25 on juice at one place. I hated everything I got except for the freebie! Now I have to go and buy more juice...

Even if the money was the same or more, you are saving your health, sense of smell/taste, etc. To me, that's invaluable. I've spent pretty close to $300 so far in the first couple of weeks, but I also have a stockpile of parts and juice to last me a decent amount of time. Finding the right PV or juice is a challenge. I think I've gotten my PV of choice nailed down (REOmod), although I like my eGo, I haven't really found my personal favorite mix/flavor yet. That may take some time, but knowing I'm not puffing away minutes of my life anymore leaves me more time to figure out what I will like vaping.

I know a lot of people will balk when I say this, but I think a lot of our overspending is due to too many choices.

(Hear me out before you call out the firing squad!)

Look...as smokers, we were quite satisfied with one particular brand. Many of us were loyal to that one brand for many years. My brand of choice was Newport. There was never a thought of smoking anything else...unless I had to bum a smoke...beggars can't be choosers.

I've found my Newport replacement (Halo Menthol Ice); if I stick with just vaping THAT I'll stay within my budget. But if I submit to the allure of the "best" equipment or the "best" juice to vape, I'll be financially worse off than I was before.

I'm not saying we should not indulge ourselves. (A little variety doesn't hurt anyone.) All I'm saying is we'd be well advised to remember 'ol Harry Callahan when he cautioned...

..."A man's got to know his limitations." (Magnum Force - 1973)

I cannot count all the PV's in your picture, how many do you have? You could open a museaum or have a garage sale! Let me know when you do!!

I have easily spent several hundred dollars since I started vaping 4 months ago. I started off with a mega 510 with auto batteries that both died within a week. I then ordered 2 manual batteries as well as an ego starter kit. I've been using LR 306 atties on the ego and I've been loving it. Next I started looking into big battery mods but they all seemed so expensive, so I did what any normal man would do. I easily spent more then twice the price of a mod in parts to build my own mod(s). (Madvapes is a real treasure for people interested in building their own mods!) I've left out all the different juices and other accessories I've been buying lately as well, but you know I would have spent almost as much over the last few months just in regular "analog" cigarettes. (I hate that word "analog", it's not as if I'm vaping anything "digital") I'm gonna have to keep this short because I just received another parcel :mail: with more vaping goodies ;)
