First, I would like to congratulate the mods and the community for creating and maintaining such an informative forum. I am very, very impressed. I feel fortunate to have come across this site and I feel like I will be around for a long, long time.

About me...

I been smoking analogs for half my life (age 36, started when I was 18). I smoke Camel lights, or whatever I can find cheap... but I am ready to give em up and try this ecig/PV thing. I need some feedback...

I have been doing some browsing in the forum so I could ask some informed questions... but... my most important consideration is COST SAVINGS.

Is this a good place to start for a noob, or would it be more prudent for me to piece a kit together myself?

[h=2]DV eGo CE Starter Kit - 1100mah - VV[/h]
I assume the DV means it's an eGo knock-off? Same build quality?

This particular kit comes with (2) CE4+ Clearomizers with Long Wicks... would you say they are "quality." How long (how many fills) should I expect these CE4+ Clearomizers with Long Wicks to last?

I am looking for a good source for 36mg e-liquid. Suggestions?

As for e-juice, there are some really great places to get your juices from and some really bad places too, watch the forum to know where to go. You can find many reviews on e-juices in the E-liquid forum. You can get whatever strength you prefer, 36mg is pretty high for me but if that's what you like then that's easy enough to get.

36mg? Jesus, are you trying to stimulate an elephant? Regardless, if that's what you like, try buying some unflavored 48 nic juice and cutting it 50/50 with 24mg. RTS Vapes has nic juice pretty cheap.

As for the eGo, the CE4s are, quite frankly, terrible. I'd order a Kanger Protank with that kit, though. It's a great price for an eGo kit! Hell, even a Vivi Nova would work better. The CE4s aren't the most reliable clearomizers.

It is a decent setup, with VV egos I like the dial type, Spinner/Twist.

Not really sure who makes DV branded items, I can say I have had good experience with Discount Vapers, and they ship fast.

As for juice, unless you already know what you like, samples are the way to go at first, don't want a bunch of large juice bottles setting around that you don't like.

Yeah, I didn't go VV when I started and I regret it. VV is valuable.

I appreciate the feedback on this obsidianchao. I checked out RTS Vaps and it looks like they have 100mg flavorless available for cheap. I wouldn't be above messing around with cutting juice. If I were to get some flavorless, could you recommend something to cut it with?

Yes if something has replaceable atomizers you do want a few extras. Also when an atomizer dies on a replaceable clean it, let it dry well, stick it in a baggie. Later when you are more comfortable with things MANY of those replaceable can be rebuilt and made useful again which will save you a few more bucks. I KNOW I have seen a video on rebuilding the kangars somewhere. Not something to dive into as a new vaper but if you save your dead heads they will be there when you are ready.

Alot of people around here like Mt Baker Vapor - Electronic Cigarettes, USA made E Juice, and Accessories for the quality of the liquid and the price.

Another for the future: Once you know what sorts of flavors you like you can DIY (make it yourself) and save even more money.

Hope this helps a bit. :)

Edit: These are nice DIY kits and will have the various gear you need as well as the liquids. DIY Artisan Kits - One Stop DIY Shop Store

excellent place to start! (with the kit and the forum...) I have 16 people off the analogs with a similar kit. Remember the clearo's are disposable so it may be good to get extra's. 36 mg might be a touch high for Lights smoker. Most have started with 18 mg, a couple have gone to 24 mg. I have had no requests for higher, (I will add, in my limited experience.)
Last, I can see a Provari knockoff, but an Ego knockoff? How can you knockoff a knockoff?

That kit from MVP is a good one. I recommend the 1300mah spinners. You can try one of each of the clearo types. Lots around seem to like the evods. I use the vivi nova tank which isn't listed on the kit. The choice can help you decide if you like the top coil which is a warmer vape or the bottom coil which is a bit cooler.

I do not recommend messing with 100mg nicotine base for DIY liquids to those new to vaping. Wait until you get more experience under your belt. That experience includes reading a lot of posts in the DIY forum here at ECF. Besides, lab gear for DIY costs money and you want to keep expenses down at first until you can decide that vaping works for you.

Keep it simple. A good eGo style PV is a great way to start, single voltage 3.7V or VV. 510 cartomizers are probably the most simple and fuss-free way to start but a lot of people start with clearos first.

Start with pre-made juices. I smoked 1.5 packs a day of Camel Blue 99s (Lights) for 35 years and found 24mg nicotine juice was a good match for me. My first juice was Wow Kamel from Vapor for Life (VFL) which tastes somewhat like the Camel Turkish tobacco blend.

And... good luck!

I actually don't mind CE4s at all. They are very simple and reliable. The first one I had lasted over 4 months until I ruined it by putting it in the oven at way to high of a temp!! I did wash it out every night, and dry-burned it about every 3 days though. Which wasn't bad and only took about 5 minutes for a thorough cleaning.

Pls let us know how it works for you. Most are happy with that kit and kangers are very popular right now. Juice is going to be the hardest of all. Most of us have to try several types to find something we really like. All and all it's still cheaper and a lot more fun that being tied to the cigarettes. It's a very liberating feeling and once you learn to make your own liquids it gets even better.
