http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...iscussion/129425-ego-vs-riva.html#post2027843 I was telling this to some people in a thread, and I think it merits a new thread. When I first came onto the scene I was overwhelmed and mad and angry about how confusing it all seemed. As it turns out, I was over thinking it.

Don't chain yourself to a certain "name" of e-cig. Don't say to yourself, should I get a riva or ego or hello or whatever else. Decide what kind of battery you want, then decide what kind of atomizer or cartomizer you want. Then buy some smoke juice to go with it.

You need three things to vape

1. Battery / Charger
2. Atomizer or Cartomizer
3. Diluted nicotine liquid

It's just that simple.

Complete virgins to the vaping world may not realize some things:

1. Find out what your battery is threaded for. Most batteries you hear about, ego/riva/hello etc are threaded for "510" atomizers or cartomizers. There are adapters for these in case you decide to try "KR808D-1" cartomizers.

2. Once you have your battery and the adapter, you can buy and use ANY 510 or KR808D threaded atomizer or cartomizer you want. From anywhere you want to buy it!! You should try several types of atomizers and cartomizers.. "Must tries" are KR808D-1 cartomizers, 510 E2 cartomizers, Joye 510 atomizers, and Joye 510 low resistance or "LR" atomizers

3. Don't get lost in all of the trillions of numbers. 510 this, KR808D-1 that, 901 801 m4081 306 etc etc etc. The must tries are "510" and "KR808D-1". Get a feel for those and go from there.

This thread is meant to help people who are brand new to vaping.
Here is what I would recommend to anyone who is new:

I nicknamed it the "$100 Ala Carte Plan"

1. Battery / Charger (Hello016/Ego/Riva/Etc) $30+-
2. Joye 510 Atomizer $8+-
3. Joye 510 LR atomizer $8+-
4. Cartomizers. Box of 510 "E2" and Box of KR808D-1 $20+-
5. 510 to KR808D-1 adapter $3+-
6. Variety of flavors from trusted vendor $40+-
-----
$109+-

Personally, I prefer the Hello016 battery.. It is 1300mah while the ego is only 650mah and the riva is only 750mah.. There is a mega version of the ego, I believe, which is 1000mah? Someone help me with, that I'm not sure :) ...
My Hello016 battery will last me a day and a half between charges, because it is 1300mah..

I've not tried the ego/riva. Some people tell me they prefer them because the airflow is better, again, please help me here :)

I know for sure that if you buy a Hello016 kit that comes with CONE atomizers, the cone atomizers really suck. And that is the only other drawback to the Hello016 - you can't put a cone on it when you're using your regular atomizers/cartomizers.

I am hoping that other people with some vaping experience will chime in and give their simple easy to make sense of recommendations and tips for new vapers.. let's make it as hassle free as possible for those who are considering taking up vaping!!

I appreciate so very much all of the time people took explaining things to me and advising me... you will never know how grateful I am!! Thanks to you, I am not smoking, my SISTER is not smoking and several other people I've introduced also are free from our cigarettes!!! My sister looks healthy as she did when we were kids, and we both feel GREAT!! Thank you!!!

As an aside - I forgot to mention drip tips... Make sure you add that to your order!! They are a must have... they let you fill your atomizer/cartomizer without taking anything apart. I love 'em. If you do what I recommend you'll stay right around $100 (lower if you play with some of the variables) and you will get to try all of the best/most popular options. A taste of all worlds!! And you WILL save MUCH MORE than $100 in cancelled cigarette purchases!!

And that's it.. I want every new vaper to see this thread. So please add to it!!
I don't want debates in this thread.. just clear non jumbled straightforward hassle free tips for new vapers!!

Already had some good input from someone:
http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...iscussion/129425-ego-vs-riva.html#post2027895 "But when you buy it like this, you only get 1 battery, if you get the kit for $50 you get 2 batts and 2 attys, then spend $10 on cartos (if you want them) then like $20 on juice total of $80 plus you get 2 complete e-cigs, so you have 1 when the other is charging."

Have to reiterate that while I heartily recommend the Hello016 battery - I don't recommend buying the Hello016 kit if it's one that comes with cone style atomizers. The proprietary Hello016 cone atomizers are no good. So if you do decide to get a kit, don't go with the Hello016.. :)

With the ego/riva you can use a cone and any atomizer you want.. I believe.

THANK YOU for making it so easy to understand!

Here's what I've been recommending:

* a starter kit (510 compatible) that's AT LEAST 650mah -- $50
* a box of 510 cartomizers to try -- $8
* a 510 drip tip to try -- $2
* at least 30mL of juice in various strengths and flavors -- $25

but I like that you are recommending a 510/kr808 adapter and cartos too - that's easy.

DEEP IN THE HEART OF TEXAS!
you just cant go wrong with this set up:

eGo (i got mine at Nicotine Nirvana 3 months ago-NO PROBLEMS)
eGo mega cylindrical cartridges and mega cylindrical atomizers (i have gotten them at Cignot and MyFreedomSmokes)

eGo 900mah or 1300mah battery for extra long lasting power

e-juices from VaporBomb (try Fire & Ice in 24mg pg/vg 50/50...if you are interested in a VERY refreshing cinnamon and very icy menthol mix)....make sure you order 30ml (cuz you WILL want a bigger bottle if you order something smaller)

i must say, if i were stuck with this setup and this one flavor ejuice for the rest of my life, i would probably be happy and satisfied......though it's fun to try other flavors.

other ejuices to try:
Backwoods Brew (BackWoods Brew)
Tasty Vapor

p.s. i dont understand why this cant be in the new members forum-newbies need to see this

Well he PMed me and told me that he had to move it because the rules are against experienced members starting threads in the new members section ... He was very friendly and explained it to me .. He even offered me the idea of going over his head to talk to some other guy, but I don't want to high side him.. I would not feel right about that

The conclusion is that Mr. Stu is just doing his job and rules are rules.
I think this one sucks, and I mentioned that, but like he was telling me - people will see it here, too.

If there are new members who are overwhelmed, please send them a link to this thread.
I believe it will help the new people immensely!!

Nice info. I would love to see a compatibility/spec spreadsheet.

(e.g. Maybe I'm shopping for more batteries. I find the Volcano Inferno and really like the battery life (also, because it looks pretty), but, right now, I have a Titan and I don't want to spend a whole bunch more money. Oh! The Inferno will work with my Titan atomizers? Right on!)

It's usually just a matter of figuring out what thread you're using and then buying something that's made for it.
