http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...iscussion/129425-ego-vs-riva.html#post2027843 I was telling this to some people in a thread, and I think it merits a new thread. When I first came onto the scene I was overwhelmed and mad and angry about how confusing it all seemed. As it turns out, I was over thinking it.
Don't chain yourself to a certain "name" of e-cig. Don't say to yourself, should I get a riva or ego or hello or whatever else. Decide what kind of battery you want, then decide what kind of atomizer or cartomizer you want. Then buy some smoke juice to go with it.
You need three things to vape
1. Battery / Charger
2. Atomizer or Cartomizer
3. Diluted nicotine liquid
It's just that simple.
Complete virgins to the vaping world may not realize some things:
1. Find out what your battery is threaded for. Most batteries you hear about, ego/riva/hello etc are threaded for "510" atomizers or cartomizers. There are adapters for these in case you decide to try "KR808D-1" cartomizers.
2. Once you have your battery and the adapter, you can buy and use ANY 510 or KR808D threaded atomizer or cartomizer you want. From anywhere you want to buy it!! You should try several types of atomizers and cartomizers.. "Must tries" are KR808D-1 cartomizers, 510 E2 cartomizers, Joye 510 atomizers, and Joye 510 low resistance or "LR" atomizers
3. Don't get lost in all of the trillions of numbers. 510 this, KR808D-1 that, 901 801 m4081 306 etc etc etc. The must tries are "510" and "KR808D-1". Get a feel for those and go from there.
This thread is meant to help people who are brand new to vaping.
Here is what I would recommend to anyone who is new:
I nicknamed it the "$100 Ala Carte Plan"
1. Battery / Charger (Hello016/Ego/Riva/Etc) $30+-
2. Joye 510 Atomizer $8+-
3. Joye 510 LR atomizer $8+-
4. Cartomizers. Box of 510 "E2" and Box of KR808D-1 $20+-
5. 510 to KR808D-1 adapter $3+-
6. Variety of flavors from trusted vendor $40+-
-----
$109+-
Personally, I prefer the Hello016 battery.. It is 1300mah while the ego is only 650mah and the riva is only 750mah.. There is a mega version of the ego, I believe, which is 1000mah? Someone help me with, that I'm not sure
...
My Hello016 battery will last me a day and a half between charges, because it is 1300mah..
I've not tried the ego/riva. Some people tell me they prefer them because the airflow is better, again, please help me here
I know for sure that if you buy a Hello016 kit that comes with CONE atomizers, the cone atomizers really suck. And that is the only other drawback to the Hello016 - you can't put a cone on it when you're using your regular atomizers/cartomizers.
I am hoping that other people with some vaping experience will chime in and give their simple easy to make sense of recommendations and tips for new vapers.. let's make it as hassle free as possible for those who are considering taking up vaping!!
I appreciate so very much all of the time people took explaining things to me and advising me... you will never know how grateful I am!! Thanks to you, I am not smoking, my SISTER is not smoking and several other people I've introduced also are free from our cigarettes!!! My sister looks healthy as she did when we were kids, and we both feel GREAT!! Thank you!!!
As an aside - I forgot to mention drip tips... Make sure you add that to your order!! They are a must have... they let you fill your atomizer/cartomizer without taking anything apart. I love 'em. If you do what I recommend you'll stay right around $100 (lower if you play with some of the variables) and you will get to try all of the best/most popular options. A taste of all worlds!! And you WILL save MUCH MORE than $100 in cancelled cigarette purchases!!
And that's it.. I want every new vaper to see this thread. So please add to it!!
I don't want debates in this thread.. just clear non jumbled straightforward hassle free tips for new vapers!!
