New to Vaping Question

Just started vaping and trying to get healthier in general. My question is, do you feel healthier after quitting regular smokes and just vaping. For example, do have that constant chest weight and shortness of breathe like a smoker does? Can I be active again if I quit smoking but continue vaping? Do you feel better all around even though you are still vaping? I hope this makes sense.

First, welcome! Congrats on making a move to improve your health.

In short, yes, yes and yes!

I'll give you some examples. I'm a snowboarder. When I was a smoker, if I took a smoke break on the mountain, I paid for it, dearly! With vaping, I can vape while riding up the lifts, with no effect on my performance.
I can chain vape for a while, hop on my treadclimber at home, no problems.
Hiking in the Great Smokey Mountains, as in serious hiking...vape break, no problem! Vape WHILE hiking...NO PROBLEMS!!

It will take several weeks until you start really feeling the benefits, but they will continue to improve the longer you don't smoke and only vape.

I think people have varied experience. But mine was excellent -

- I never had any real craving for a cig, I just realized vaping tasted way better after doing both for a couple weeks, and stopped setting paper on fire. Done.
- I "hacked up" some gunk for a little while, as I pretty much always had, when smoking...
- VERY quickly, a smoker's cough completely went away. That every-couple-minutes clearing of the throat...gone
- Yes, I have much better breathing, less tired with exertion

I hope you get the same results I did!!

Welcome to ECF, Flyershutch!

Just like all the other posters who replied to your thread, I feel so much better after making the switch. I wish I made the decision long ago, but I'm really happy with how I feel since I started vaping.

I'm confident you'll start feeling better soon; just keep it up. The only downside I can think of with vaping is "shinyitus", which is the condition vapers get once they see something "purty" they can't live without. Even with this condition, I've saved money and am confident I've added years to my life. Vape on! :vapor:

Welcome!

My GF and I started at the same time about 3 months ago, give or take... She is the kind to have a lot of upper respritory sicknesses throughout the year.

By being good about keeping her tank clean and wiping off her drip tip, she hasn't had the seasonal lung/sinus crud... so that's something.

Personally, I feel like my lungs are a little better, and my teeth are actually slowly whitening.

Welcome aboard!

I'm with just about everyone on this. After I finally put down the cigarettes, I stopped hacking up a lung every morning. Other than the current weather changes, my sinuses have been a lot clearer - I smell and taste things with more clarity. My car doesn't smell like a rolling ashtray. My clothes don't have that lingering "stank".

I've been smoke-free for over 8 months now, but probably the last month or so (and I'm attributing to the weather changes and/or allergies) I have had a little bit of chest congestion, but I typically get something like this at this time of year. I had a wicked-bad cold about six weeks ago - normally it would have landed into bronchitis. I never had to go to the doctor this time around. That, in my book, is priceless!

I don't have the shortness of breath anymore. Never had a cough to begin with but I was only smoking 5-6 AS Lights a day. I've experienced a few liquids which create a tightness in the chest (Five Pawns Sixty Four) but that was only doing lung inhales on an RDA. I do sometimes get that rough throat feeling in the morning but normally only when I vaped a lot the night before. The 50% PG also might have something to do with that. Most of all I LOVE not reeking of cigarettes... no stinky hands, clothes, etc. Ditto for the teeth whitening.

im an ex smoker... i started vaping 3 years ago started with the standard cigar look a like mod moved to ego upgraded to the 18650 mods... im not satisfied with vaping if the nic is under 12mg if i lower it down my body reacts to it like migrane and so on how could i lower the nic content without the withdrawal and is nic dangerous to our body??
