vaping just worked for me as well. I know some have really struggled but fortunately I really had no ill effects. I did not dual use - went straight from 2 to 3 packs per day to 100% vaping. I was one of "those people" that nearly always had a cigarette in hand and was a heavy smoker since I was a pre-teen. If I did not have a cigarette for any length of time I was a real witch! I started out with way high nic which I now see was a good move. I also think a large part of it was that I really wanted to stop and was very determined. I know I would not even have tried to quit analogs if it was not for vaping.
I use low nic now and eventually plan on working toward 0.
I LOVE vaping!
In the interests of full disclosure I should note that I’ve gone back to smoking once or twice since I started vaping. This is mostly because I am an idiot in certain respects. But I have mostly vaped since late 2011 or so, so I consider it a win even given the occasional back-slide.
I will say that I think motivation an important thing. When I started vaping in late 2011 the equipment sucked, the juice sucked, the whole experience sucked. But I was motivated. I had just watched my mother die, far earlier than she should have, of lung cancer. It wasn’t pretty.
How easily we forget though, after a few years. I’m still tempted by cigarettes, but when I am I dredge up those memories, memories I’d otherwise prefer to bury. We all have to die somehow, but I’d rather not go out like that.
