Kinda surprised PP even works with them. They dropped poor Arno like a bad habit and forced him to find another payment processor awhile ago.

I ordered from TW last week....Pay Pal in their only option for payment at this time.....i am going to call them in the morning to see if they will accept payment over the phone...

The ban is NOT passed in New York yet. The Assembly passed a BILL. It still has to go through the Senate Health Committee and if it gets approved, has to be voted on by the Senate.

Even if it does get passed, it's highly unlikely to affect internet orders, unless you are trying to order from a New York-based company.

Kristen,

I have sent my emails as a good New Yorker but are we sure on your statement that it would not effect internet orders? I do not know the details on the Bill but I thought it would ban distributors from sending shipments in to the state. So this should only effect NY retailers and NY based distributors if I am understanding your statement correctly. I ask just because I was gather funds to get as much supplies in stock expecting no shipments into the state.

The proposed bill is nearly identical to the Illinois bill (as they were both written by the ALA.) It came up at the Illinois committee meeting that their bill wouldn't stop people from crossing state lines or buying from the internet.

I don't know much about the law, but that was pretty clear.

Here is a quote from the transcript:

Rep. Colvin: There wouldn't be any black market for these products. They would simply buy them on the internet or they would buy them at--or they would buy them across state lines.

While I am not happy with the proposed bill that is a nice fact to know. It stops me from preparing for Armageddon.

I do that anyway, as even in the small picture, you never know if a major widespread imports crackdown could occur (both ecig software and hardware are subject to seizure, and reportedly it is happening more lately), and supplier difficulty in obtaining stock (or being able to afford continuing to try) could lead to a drought...

OP -- you may still be able to edit the title of this thread using the advanced options, and if not, I hear mods will do it for ppl... the realities are scary enough already in themselves... :)

I'm fairly certain that this does not mean it would be legal for online sellers to sell to people in the state that has the ban. It just means that, as a practical matter, there would be no way to stop it, since the law enforcement of the state has no jurisdiction outside its borders, and small parcels can't really be checked.

Quite probably, these laws do not ban possession or purchase, only sale, so buying online is not committing a crime on the part of the buyer. The seller might be in violation of the law but is, for all intents and purposes, beyond reach. Certainly small orders will get through. Still, it is possible that some vendors could stop selling to states where it is banned.

I thought ecigs were banned in Canada, but people there still seem to be buying the stuff online, from whichever vendors will ship there. The same is probably also true in Australia.

Nothing to do with NY.
I order from them and PP didn't give me any trouble at all.

When (IF) the ban gets in effect, you won't be able to buy/sell within NY only, but you can still order online from vendors in other states.

And yes, NYS in all their infinite knowledge, just screw it again… not giving a concise wording, keeps the online orders alive at least for a while until they pass a new law or amend this one stating that no carries can transport e-cigs (and related).

See historically what happened with cigarettes. When they passed the bill increasing price, everybody was buying them online, then later (perhaps 7 or 5 years ago), they passed a second bill stating that no carriers (including USPS) could get cigarettes into NYS… the funny thing is that reservations within NYS CAN and DO send cigarettes via USPS

So, in the future, if all this happen, we won’t be able to receive anything related to PV’s… then, we have to do as any good newyorker would… Use our NJ friends’ addresses and order from there and cross the river every other week to collect out packages.

In their infinite geed, I could see them installing customs at all bridges/ferries/trains between NY and NJ
Or plain and simple, passing another bill saying “NYS residents are not allowed to visit any other state to collect merchandise of any kind. Recreational trips are the only reason to cross the border…

Just and idea for ya All,

I'm sure everyone has a family member or friend in another state that doesnt have a ban (right) just ship your goods to them and then they ship to you, it might cost ya all an extra 5-10 bucs but just place a nice big order to last ya all for a while till we get these bills changed.!!! jusy an idea all
