No .. you don't want to exceed the C rating of a battery because it isn't safe.
Efest as I said has a 10 amp C rating. The Sonys have a 30 amp C rating. So you can push many more amps with your coils,if you want to,and be safe. High drain 18650 batteries with a C rating of more than 10 amps last longer. Hope that's clear as to why I am changing to Sonys.
Micro coils produce more flavor. The mod, whatever one you choose, is up to you as far as affordability or style that suits your taste. You've got a great start, but my suggestion for a jump to mechanical mods was made because you expressed the desire to learn about those.

I'm trying to learn as much as I can about ALL of it. I discounted the mech mods because it seemed like there were too many disadvantages at first glance. Now I understand there is just things you can't do any other way.

So if I don't care what it looks like... And I grab a tube from say... Fast tech...

Then buy GOOD batteries elsewhere...

What RDA's should I be looking at?

I genuinely, seriously, appreciate all the feedback so far. You guys have been great.

Should I just use the toolbox (vapers toolbox) app to figure out what wire I can use given my equipment's limitations? It appears that the VV 3 on paper can't run a coil lower than 1 ohm with its 3.5 amp limit. The lowest voltage it can go is 3.3. @ 1ohm thats 3.5 amps. What wire would you use to make 1.5 ohm / dual coils? (Or 1.5 ohm single?). Or are there other factors I need to know? I know length matters as well.

So adding more or less wraps is how you can tune length to a certain degree?

28 gauge kanthal is what I and most others use.
If building dual coils:
2x1.2=.6 ohm
2x2.4=1.2 ohm
2x3.0=1.5 ohm
etc
I don't recommend Fasttech, but many swear by them. It will take you around a month to get anything back from them.
RDAs are available on eBay just type in Rebuildable Drip Atomizers.
Nimbus is a good one even to learn on. Patriot also.I got one on there for $12
Mech mods are on there as well. Hcigas has the highest quality clones so look on eBay for mech mod clones and many will pop up.

Most of the shops house blends are 50/50. They are mild, and probably work for most people. After our conversation tonight with the owner she's going to start working on the mix flavor by flavor until she finds the right balance for each one. (It's a brand new shop) I offered to guinea pig anything volatile she wanted to try. I think I'm more of a PG guy. I don't need clouds. And I don't like the dry taste in the 50/50's.

She also offered to swap out some of the flavors I recently bought there with stronger ones. So I definitely think this place will be worth the time letting them get things sorted out.

WOW! I'm late to the party - but that shop (lady) is smart! If my local shop would do that for me - I'd buy exclusively from them at whatever price they might command. I'm tired of 'doctoring' juice, mixing nasty juice just so I don't waste it by tossing.

Welcome and congratulations on you excellent local shop 'find' - work with her; you might just be one of the lucky folks!

Thanks for mentioning battery safety. So many folks don't bring it up and I FEEL LIKE a broken record harping on it while adding little else. Fine jobs folks - fine job.

Wattage I'd gather is just like power? Translating to... heat @ the coil? Intensity, duration? A little clarification there would be helpful. Any kind of even basic illumination on the subject would be good. And I'll take a link if no one wants to type it out. :)

Watt is a unit of power, like horse power. The basic formula is P=I*E (Power=Current*Voltage)

They don't usually give us current, but since they do give us Resistance & I=E/R (Current=Voltage/Resistance) we can modify the simple formula:
P=(E/R)*E

or simplified
P=E^2/R

My little Ego has three different voltage levels. 3.2, 3.7, 4.2.... I've got no idea what my coil's resistance is, but if I were to buy a 1.6 ohm coil I would be able to get 6.4 watts, 8.6 watts, & 11 watts

If I were to get a 2.2 ohm coil I'd get 4.6 watts, 6.2 watts, & 8.0 watts.

Give your senses (taste and smell) a little more time to come back... I was a heavy 2PAD smoker for 20 years. Marlboro Reds. I've been vaping about 3 weeks now and I am just now starting to really appreciate the flavors. I also get my juice w/ the highest nicotine content available here (36mg). I started with a simple eGo setup and within a week I bought the itaste vv that you are rocking. If you have a chance, try the Aspire ET-S glassomizers. They are really kick ...!

Yeah I think I like the nemesis clone. I watched about 6 hours of video reviews on things yesterday. Mostly rda's and mech clones, looking for subtle advantages to each. The nemesis or king do seem fine. For a little sucker the youde didn't look too bad either.

Rda's, well, I think after watching a jillion different ones get ripped down and rebuilt. And critiqued to the point of ad nauseum. The Helios looks to be the one I'd pick. But apparently the clones are all junk? (Rawr!)

So not sure there yet. Maybe nimbus, or atomic clone? Or some igos.

I appreciate all your recommendations and appreciate you sticking through the thread this far. It's really been helpful.

It will be a month for me in 2 days. (20y 1 PAD) Some things, just rock harder than others I think. The cotton candy was doing ok for me yesterday. But I did add two drops of pure flavoring to the tank before I even started with it. Green apple also is pretty good. Still like the orange cream. The fairly nuclear strawberry concoction she made out of a few juices and extract is OK.

But like pomegranate just, sucked. And I like pom. Instead of tart, it tasted blah, and the blah just ended up tasting burnt. Mango tea same thing. It was ok for a few vapes then it just kinda melted the sickly sweet with this blah tea taste and ended up coming back out of the clearo.

My lady is looking for the best strawberry that doesn't taste super artificial. She wants something that tastes more like real strawberries rather than candy, if possible?

(Suggestions for those with a sweet juice tooth welcome!)

And again, those of you tolerating the length of this newbie thread to let this be an evolving conversation, have really helped me push through a lot of information and guide my research in a very short period of time. It's really made this crawl, walk, run noob thing into - an aircraft carrier launch deck. I understand a lot more than I did a week ago. And you guys have helped tremendously.

Don't be! I recently (see also; after paying $40 each) found the itaste vv 3.0 express kits at 101vape for like $26 each. Just battery and charger. All ego stuff fits it. Cones and 510 stuff is all gtg. Given the amount of clones in the site, it may or may not be genuine. So I'd do some research on that subject. They have good prices on protanks and stuff too. It's a good little vv/vw mod IMO! Kicks a twist or spinners ..... And it has a built in ohm checker. No more guessing what the coil is!

Ok. Based on everything Ive seen Ive narrowed it down to the nemesis clone or the magneto. (Both in stainless)

I found a 1:1 Helios RDA. And I'm gonna grab an Igo L. Some wire. Good batteries and a nitecore charger.

Not sure which to pick. But we had two days off together at home and were killing the VV3's just sitting at home vaping all day. Some back ups with more power are probably be good idea to have at the house at least. The VV3 is plenty for work. But it was getting sketchy yesterday when literally everything was all dying.

So. Magneto or nemesis clone?

Asmo -- Bookmark this it will come in handy.
Ohm's Law / Watt's Law Calculator

I rock this.

https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.valsoft.vaperstoolbox

It will do it by wire, length, wraps, - all the ohms, volts. And I have "the chart" as a wall paper on the back screen of my phone. So I just flip a few screens over and the chart is there if I'm using the spinner.

It is jammy. And I can take a torch to that bish' and turn it all kinds of awesome looking. I don't particularly like the fact it comes with tubes, and switching sizes requires changing the pieces around. I just know in life there's this thing called tolerances... and if they don't stack in my favor. It could be rattly. Supposedly they hit well. Build quality is decent etc.

The ST Magneto uses the magnetic button. It's a telescopic. It also looks decent. It's not a direct clone. But an "ish" of origin? I can't remember this minute. Anyway, reviews say it hits hard. Only threads that are iffy are the telescope part. But since she 'scopes' I should be able to cinch it down perfectly no matter how it stacks out in the end. (I'd imagine) It's a coin toss I'm sure. Just figured I'd see if anyone had anything to say one way or the other.

I found both for $40.

I also found the DNA-30D chip... and man... I was tempted to just get the chip and build a box instead. I think I'll get the mech mod now...

But a little wood trinket box type of mod would look nice on the coffee table, and maybe a mini hose hookah style? Open the lid and put the hose back? You could probably put an insane battery in something like that... I'm envisioning a little hole in the top of the lid the atty would stick through. (even closed)

Wooden DNA 30 table party mod... lol!

Ok learned a lot in the last week and ordered a ton of stuff. She chose the same PV I did when we went back to get her set up. We both ordered a ton of flavors to try as well as some more tanks and I also snagged a vision twist (400mah) to have as a back up. Carts, some attys. And well, a week later this is kinda what happened to the counter.

I'm really having problems finding any eliquids I like. They are all weak to me and no matter what tank I put them in, or even if I'm sucking straight off the Atty. Maybe 2-3 of the dozen do anything for me. Zero of which compare to the original menthol I'm now almost out of.

Not sure what to do. But she can smell and taste a dozen times better than me and agrees they are all fairly lame. She even bought extra flavor extract to pump up certain flavors and I'm not interested in almost any of them. They are merely hints - where the original menthol I bought was a sledge hammer.

I'm easily $300+ in now and striking out repeatedly with juices.

I want nuclear. Do I have to go RDA to get more out of these? Ive watched a dozen or two videos and it doesn't seem hard to do, just time consuming. I even ordered all mine 80pg/20vg hoping to get some more punch out of them. They all made me yawn. You see all these people talking about - oh the flavor! I'm not finding it.

As much as I hate to say this....but ecigcharleston.com actually has a menthol and tobacco juice that tasted like my malboro. It's called sweet charleston. I only hate to say it because I can't use there ejuice due to pg/vg ratio but it's heavenly

The PG or the VG?

PG doesn't seem to bother me. Mixes with 50% VG and not really strong flavoring to compensate seem dry and kinda lousy to me.

Ive been ordering mostly PG liquids so far.

I imagine once I get an RDA going and way more power I'm going to have to really cut that down. But for these protanks and clearos...

PG juices seem to be the way to go.

Thread start with "newbie" setup to cotton recoiling for better wicking. :D
I will wait a few weeks (or less) for your new post flashing a mech mod and proclaiming dripping is only way to go. j/k.

PT atty can be recoiled pretty easily, but I don't like to use cotton for those. Cotton definitely wicks better but you need to replace it much more often than silica. This is no brainer for RDA but clearo atomizer is a pain. If you want to get more juice into the coil, try pulling the flavor wick out. This opens up the hole for more juice but also increase the chance of leaking.

I guess I was wrong. Took less than a week. :D
