Welcome to ECF mirthaddcf. You came to the right place :). There are a lot of people here who have quit analogs using e-cigs, and you will get a wealth of knowledge from them. any particular questions you have? We will be happy to help, and there will be lots of people with many good suggestions popping in soon. I'll tell you my experiences so far, and my suggestions, as will everyone else, so you'll have info overload before you know it.

What strength cigarettes do you smoke, how many per day, how long are you away from power for recharging during the day?

The BEST starter is a big fat battery model about the size of a whiteboard marker like Joye Ego or Riva 510 etc. and most would use that with blank cartomizers for favorite thinner juices. There are almost no prefilled cartomizers for this model but the most variety of blanks. And the fat battery models can optionally use the hotter low resistance atomizers and cartomizers.

I think the best slim starter model is a KR808D-1 with MANUAL batteries (vapor4Life aka V4L if you want the option of longer drags (it has a 10-13 second cutoff), SmokelessImage for a bit more charge and better sealed end on the manual but drag cutoff is 5 seconds which means you'll want to only press in 1 second early to leave 4 seconds for dragging). A bit thicker than a cigarettes and I recommend standard aka 78mm manual batteries but 120mm ecig. This is a cartomizer model and the strongest slim model, and has plenty of prefilled and blank cartomizers. Since you don't want to dirty cartomizers to test juices, for testing new juices use a manual battery with DSE901 standard resistance atomizer and drip tip.

EDIT: Dormouse has given some excellent advise as well.

WELCOME TO THE ECF

If your asking what is the best e-cig then the answer is that there is no such thing. Vaping is VERY subjective and what works for one person will not work for the other. The common consensus on what is a good starting point is a EGO, RIVA, and KGO kit. Which is what is known as a big batt. You can get them from various vendors.

The reason for these being recommended to newbs is because they are simple to use, have a long battery life, and versatile. Which means that you can use cartomizers, atomizers, and tanks on it.

For the KGO, you can get them from here:

Welcome northpole :). Dormouse always has great advise, and knows so much about almost anything PV. Hi dormouse ;)
I have the eGo passthrough, which you can plug into USB and vape, or unplug and vape also. I use dual coil cartos, smoktech and boge are highly recommended. Good deal here

eGo 510 650mAh USB Passthrough Battery

You can also get a good price on cartos there, and every 5 you get, you also get a free bottle of juice of your choice.

Yes, I want to quit smoking, too, and in the past I was very distressed over being unable to do so. Now that I have my Halo G6s, I have real hope I might be able to, for the first time in 34 years. There are also many other fine products available, but people have less success with the super-minis, so don't get one of those.

Whatever you get first will likely cost less than cigarettes, so don't worry if you make a poor first choice. You have to start somewhere.

Welcome to ECF mirthaddcf! :)

Lots of good advice here already, and like someone said it's subjective. There are lots of favorites, but after some lurking, you should find that the bad things are generally agreed upon en masse. I personally love the Go-Go, and it was my first kit. Some people eschew it due to it's proprietary threading where the atty or carto attach to the battery. However, I did just fine for a couple of months, and then got a GoGo to 510 adapter, and can now use all the common 510 items w/my GoGo batts as well! I love the GoGo cartos as they hold a lot of juice (about 3ml) and can last some people a couple of days before you have to add more juice. :) So now I have the best of both worlds (GoGo and 510)! Plus the batts last about 2 days between charges. YMMV of course, as it depends on how often you hit it.

Just research all you can, and like someone else mentioned, it's overall cheaper than the nasty analogs, so trial & error will apply in most cases. :D

Good luck with your journey! :toast:
