I'm a newbie. Lots of baffling terminology and combinations. I wanted some thing simple to start with -- prefer to learn to walk before having to learn to run (G). I would recommend an Elite 808 starter kit from CigEasy.com (they have a forum on this site). That's what I'm using right now. A lot of people will poo-poo the 808 format and recommend the 510 format but I'm happy with it and there are plenty of places to buy from.

I suggest either one of these...both have 2 1100a ego batteries, 2 CE4's or CE5's, 2 chargers AC/USB, carrying case...1100a batteries are a must have...anything smaller and U will be using 2 batteries every day..

$25... $24.99 EGO-CE4S 6-in-1 Variable Voltage Rechargeable 1100mAh E-Cigarettes Set with 0.55" Screen - double e-cigarettes / 2.4

$44... DV eGo-T Starter Kit - 1100mah

and U can always change clearomizers/tanks later if U want something different....cuz the 1100a batteries will handle most anything. and last all day...and 510 threaded is def the way to go...so common and used by most all hardware nowadays ..

I started out (2 months ago) with a joyetech ego c kit. Simple kit, I didn't want too many variables getting in the way of the transition from cigs to this.

Got it from ecigsupply.com great store, fast shipping.

Here's a jist on "kits" from what I've learned. Kits are batteries plus a delivery method. Add chargers etc.

Delivery method - tank, cartomizers, clearomizer
Batteries can be used on a ton of devices ( delivery methods ) down the line, aslong as you can find ones with the battery connection. Ego/510 seems to be the norm. They aren't expensive.

So even if you get a kit, and want to change the tank or cartomizers that came with it it's not a waste really as the battery portion is the main component and is used on the new gear.

my opinion, the ego-c kit from joyetech is good because you can swap out small tanks with different juices easily.

You can also buy a twist outside a kit and throw it into your battery rotation

Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk Which doesn't work 50% of the time

Bypassed the starter kit and went with a nice and simple mod.

1) Silver Bullet
2) 18650 battery's
1) charger that will charge different size battery's
1) protank or an iClear
5) replacement coils

My neighbor started the same time I did....he now has 3) different starter kits by upgrading on each one.

I think he has more money in his stuff instead of just buying a nice rig to begin with.

Just my opinion.;)

You skipped two steps. You missed the cigalike and eGo steps.

I started on the cigalikes and jumped to a Silver Bullet too within 3 weeks. How do you like her now? :D

Not everyone has the budget or desire to get top-of-the-line stuff. Some people are looking for something discrete, lightweight or simply inexpensive. Redundancy is another motivation. You can buy five starter kits from FastTech for the price of one of the popular kits.

im not sure how helpful it will be because im 3 wks in. I bought a storm from vaporking.com. im already thinking about which mod to buy but for 85 I got two batteries, two clearomizer tanks which where faulty and they quickly upgraded to there smartomizer tank which I like , a btl of juice and a charger. I didn't want to spend a lot of money because I didn't think I could quite the cigs so easy. i do like the tank vs. the drip because I work in construction and I can carry it all day and not have to refill. my tak holds 3.5ml of juice. and the battery holds for over a day. it has a lcd the tells me how many puffs I take. all that being said good luck.

Well I've made the leap. I decided on the Joyetech eGo C Twist. Can't wait to receive it! Thanks everyone for the input.

This is what I started with on July 13. Since then, I've purchased two additional kits (For family members) and an Evic for myself. Now, I can't stop looking around at apv's.

I think you'll really enjoy your kit. Good luck!

Well, I started 3 years ago with those cheap gas station bought ones and hated it. My 2nd upgrade was Ego type, didn't like them much eitehr until I found the Ego Tank type. Since than I bought pretty much everything out there (spent 3K so far roughly), I buy every new thing because I like to blog about them and document them. But to be hoenst, lately I like my zmax battery with evod type atomizers and still smoke my trusted ego tanks, I just love my egos. It is hard to carry the zmax around I ams ure if you tried it you know how huge it is.
You can check out what to buy at my blog BestElectronicCigaretteHQ.com

I was very happy with my SB. I bought a Black Beauty for a backup.

I told a friend of mine to buy her and her husband SB's, charger, battery's,etc, and if they didn't like them then I would buy them. They didn't like them so I got $515 worth of stuff for $225.

I bought an iTaste SVD last Friday.

I am trying to find a Kick to go on one of my SB's.

Glad I skipped the first two steps.:D

PS: I like your rigs!:toast:

I really think the best place for anyone to starts is an eGo Twist kit. I prefer the Evod tanks, but it's really just a matter of taste.

It's a good starting point, and once you have a good idea of how it works, what you like about it, and what you don't.. It will become a lot easier to figure out where you'd like your vaping to go from there. For people who aren't serious about getting into modding, a Twist is likely all they'll ever need.
