Hi All,

Just wanted to say hello and introduce myself to the community. I'm not a smoker myself but my dad has been a smoker for over 30 years and both of my grandfathers past away from lung diseases related to smoking, so I'm primarily here to learn about how e-cigs can help my dad and other close friends quit analog smoking.

At the recommendation of a friend, the first product I bought was this kit: http://www.myvaporstore.com/Vision_Spinner_Joye_Ego_C_Twist_Combo_p/vvs-c.htm

So far my dad is loving it, but his device is starting to leak, so I'm looking for a better product that he can have a good experience with and stick with over the long run. I also recently bought a flavor sampler for him from E-Liquid 3ml Sample 4 Pack - $10.00 : Heathers Heavenly Vapes, Top Quality Custom E-Liquids, but I'm going to try and spend some time learning about other people's favorite flavors.

I really hope this what will really help him quit traditional cigs once and for all.

Please help me help him quit!

If you figure it out, let me know. Been trying to convince the MIL to start vaping instead of smoking the stinkys for awhile now. The wife and I keep trying and all she does is say, "Ya, I've tried them". She'll take a couple puffs of ours and say, ya, that's great. And straight back to the analogs she goes. :::sigh:::

At least you got your dad to give it a shot. Good on ya man! I've been using a Vision Spinner with adjustable voltage and a small clearomizer tank now for about a week. No issues whatsoever. Good luck!

togoodhealth, good on ya for helping out your dad! I would recommend trying a Kanger Pro Tank, they are easy to assemble and re-fill, and I have had zero leaking issues with mine. I would also recommend that you check out Mt. Baker Vapor. Their prices are the best around. My current favorite is Cinnamon E-Roll. Tell your dad to stick with it!

What a nice son you are! I hope your dad is able to do it! There are a few reasons why his clearomizer might be leaking. Some have several parts that need to be periodically tightened, some have the press fit tubes come loose, and they all, sooner or later, need to have either the heads/coils replaced or the whole thing replaced. It's really good to have back-ups. From what I've read there are many brick and mortars in and around LA. Maybe go to one and get the 411 on what you have. Some even have juice tasting 'bars' set up. Here's a map.

To JimCal: you can lead a horse to water..... As long as they have the tools available, when they are ready they will quit. Some people bristle when being evangelized, it can have the opposite of the intended affect.

Thanks for the reply. Yep, you're absolutely spot on. Methinks we're done trying to convince her. :(

Thanks Jim. I'll check out the Vision Spinner. Do you know how that compares to the Ego line?

Wow, awesome. Thanks for the advice glasseye. I've been on this forum for less than 2 hours and it's amazing how helpful and supportive everyone is!

Thanks KTark. It's amazing how many different kinds of products and brands around. My head is spinning a bit trying to sort through all of the choices.

I am a 60 year old, 40+ year, 3 pad smoker. I was ready to quit...and trying to quit...so that's important.

I quit using simple cartomizers. Rather fool proof and I always suggest that newbies have a few on hand. As I gained confidence I began to experiment with a lot of different clearomizers. I'm using CE5s right now, but I buy a new toy every month or two. There are sooooo many to try and they all hit differently, so it becomes almost as individualized as juice.

Juice is another thing you just have to experiment with and get lots of samples. As my tastes changed...and they will...I finally gave up on tobacco flavors. That opened up a whole new world of flavors to try. The juice that open my eyes, so to speak, was Sweet Swish from Heathers. (think cherry cigar) I tried it on a whim during my great tobacco hunt, and that's what made me realize that I liked fruit. Who knew?
