MrKrinkle, i think Nextel 312 and 440 will perform the same in iAtty.. But 440 is supposed to be more durable and this might contribute to better longevity.

We will soon see I just purchased 5ft of the XC4-116 I do enjoy the XC-116 and have figured out how to burn off the sizing and cut it without fraying so now I need a new challenge and the XC4 is up next...

I think minimum purchase is 10 ft... i got that for like 22 bucks or something

you can buy less than 10ft when filling out the lil form just dont add the final numbers and add to cart it will count in 1 ft increments and then just change the qty to how many feet you need and update cart... the XC-116 is $1.50 per foot as the XC4-116 is $3.00 a foot... hope this helps

I've been using XC4-116 in the iAtty for going on a month now, and it's still doing really well.
The coating on it is pink, also, so it's easy to tell when you've torched it all off.
I've still not tried the XC, but the XC4 does seem identical to all descriptions I've read of XC. Great vape! Really consistent.

It doesn't seem that much more durable compared to whats been described, however. Still sheds and frays a bit, but has held up quite well overall.
I torch the wick once a week, back to bright white, rewrap coil and go.
The XC4 could still benefit from some time in a kiln to firm it up a bit, as Rick45 has described doing..luckily a friend just started taking ceramic classes!

Good info makes me happy I just ordered some tonight should get it pretty quick seeing as how they have a branch in California... Im hooked on XC-116 and have some stock wick and some Glaswick I will need to sell in the classifieds... excited to use the XC4 and the colored sizing makes it that much better in my opinion...

Yep, it's all I use now also, i'm really liking it!
no other wick compares, IMO, although i hear the ss mesh can be amazing..will probably have to try it sometime..
for now, I'm lovin' the pink ceramic wick, lol:vapor::blink:

From what I'm told is the MESH is great if you like strong TH... for me I like it a lil smoother and cooler and the NEXTEL works for me and how I vape.... for example 1.6/1.7ohm with 3.7v is just right for me... I do like the life expectancy of MESH and the durability idea of it especially... if you can find some 316L (L is surgical grade) 400 mesh that I think would be ideal... I do have some coming from a friend so I can play with it and see 1st hand... although I do not have any idea what thread count or grade of SS hes sending... anyway I do however have 0 experience at HV actually rather wait for a GG-VV before I do... the reason I would rather wait is the CR123/16340 stack-ables I have are AW IMR High Drain and come off the charger pushing 4.2v and stacked is 8.4v... that's just more Voltage than I want to mess with without a lil voltage control... but thats just me and how I roll bawk bawk bawk... Im not saying I havnt played with it a lil bit at HV but mostly to burn clean my coils... it did pour vape out of it like lava without even puffing on it and that was pretty cool...

i ordered 5 ft and they called and told me my order was on hold and i had to buy 10

I know others have purchased less that 10 but that was my experience

they do sell i in 1 foot increments at $1.50ft. But, shipping will cost you $8.00 so might as well buy enough to make the shipping costs worth it

I just received confirmation of my order from Omega that the 5ft of XC4-116 will be shipping out for me today... Im sorry that they wouldn't ship you out 5 ft of the XC-116 but hey why not give the XC4-116 a shot...

The Omega has a 10' minumum order, and always has unless they changed there company policy recently, even if your pre-order goes through they usually call people back or email them back letting them know that 10' is the Minimum order or they send a flat cancellation. I've been using this for quite some time now and the XC-116 works excellent in many of different set ups. There really is no reason and it is a total waste of money to buy the XC4 in my opinion,, it's the same stuff but yields a higher operating temp ( 2800F compared to the XC-116 @ 2600f 200 + more and a temp we will never reach with an Atty in my opinion, so the extra cost is not worth it.

I purchased 25' of each on my original order the only physical difference you will see is the XC4 comes in pink or a pink coating on it. That coating will burn off once you pre-burn it under the flame and it will turn white just like the XC-116 ( highly suggested to pre-burn this wick, it removes any of the small particles that may be on it that you dont want to vape ) the XC4 is mooch o expensive and there is no difference or none that I can tell between the 2 for use in an Atty so my suggestion would be to stick with the XC-116 for the cost difference and only 200f higher operating temp.

Besides just using in the iAtty I've been using it in my 2 new G-Tanks matched with mesh,,, twisting a thin piece of the ss 400 Mesh and then putting the mesh up inside the XC-116, there is a hollow hole in the middle of the XC-116 where the right size rolled piece of mesh will go, works great like this on iAtty also.

For those that may have some of the old Mega Cylinder Ego Attys it will turn them into vaping freight trains. Push the bridge to the side on one of these jumbo Attys and remove as much as the stock wick as you can from under the bridge. Then take a piece of the XC-116 and thread it under the bridge and move the bridge back to the center and wet it with some liquid and vape away. I have cut the flange off of 2 of these Atty's and have been using them on my 2 Reo Grands and they put out huge vapor with excellent flavor like the XC-116 does with everything that I've used it on to date. I highly recommend this stuff and wished the Atty manufacturer's would start using it in everything that has a wick.

I went with the XC4 to not only try it out but because it was the only one in stock at this time... I already have a lil XC-116 left and love it but am running out and needed a replacement... so well see what happens if they cancel the order on me then I will just buy the XC-116 and wait a week for it....
