So after finally getting the mesh to work last night, I decided to meter it this morning. (I was in a hurry last night!) Turns out that I'm metering at 0.7, YES THAT'S 0.7! I was trying out some new kanthal I got from a Gen trade and must've been really tired when I metered the wire and forgot to account for internal resistance! I attributed the lack of a wrap was due to thinner Kanthal. No wonder it was putting out clouds of vapor and hitting so hard I kept having to put it down! :p Now I know how Rwechsler and Mac206 feel after vaping > 20 watts!

Well I just had a go at Mr Krinkle's famous method but I went for 100% mesh as I had been running Mr Krinkle's method with fg wick and it worked great.

I oxidised the ss mesh with a Zippo and first time Bingo! no shorts and working perfect.

I didnt go for really low ohm's as I had read here that the hit could be quite intense so I got a nice 2 ohm coil, filled her up and WOW!! the amount of vapour is slightly increased but the intensity of the vapour's taste is quite a bit stronger so much so that if I keep using the mesh wick I would need to decrease the nic content of my juice. I am using quite a mellow handmade juice and the flavour is definitely stronger almost too strong but I am sure I will get used to it.

No problems with wicking at all so far as it is wicking beautifully so its so far so good.

I will give it a few days and see what happens and if I will stick with it or not but in my experience with Genesis atties that run purely with mesh they take a while to "bed in" so it could get better.

I just went for the 100% mesh as I wanted to check it out and with these people thinking that their Gennies are the best thing thats ever been made I wanted to see how well the Odysseus worked with mesh.

Basically its a Genesis type attie now with a slightly different (better) feed system as the Genesis has no juice flow control.

I did it really late last night at about 2am so it was too late to dig the camera out and charge batteries!

Imeo the key is super oxidation, i een bought a chef torch coz the ordinary torch heats up so fast, and instead of using water i used old juice i dont like to quench the amber,

same here urq. This mesh style is hard to be made. I am wondering sometimes about the mesh devices and how people do that work. To speak the truth I always had many shorts with mesh and I never managed to make a good coil

So...can I ask a stupid question and apologize ahead of time if anybody has already asked? I know I can purchase the mesh online, but since i just got my Ody and am pretty interesting in trying different coils and set ups I was wondering what type of retailer might carry this mesh. Hardware store? I looked around in Lowe's and couldnt find it. Just curious as I would like to pick it up locally if i could to play with this weekend.

Congrats on your Ody Spring - why not just get use to your Ody for now with the wick. Shoot me your address in a PM and I will send you some mesh to try. Dont bother with Lowes or Home Depot - not going to find it.

I tried the 100% mesh setup and I was having flooding issues, I guess after a while I could have had it working but it was tricky so for that reason if you were going to go with mesh I would recommend using mesh over fg wick to get a better wicking experience.

I left the ends of the mesh open, a tube of mesh if you will but maybe flattening the ends of the mesh to hold back the juice might help somewhat.

I wouldnt do the all mesh setup again because of the flooding but if I really just had to have mesh in my Ody then I would only try the fg wick/mesh setup as I think that would make things far easier.

As for any advantages of mesh Im not sure as it has its own disadvantages and if you read any genny forums they are always looking for other materials other than ss mesh so its not a perfect solution.
