The diameter of the exposed +end is exactly 3/8", and I've got less than an 1/8" of room to insert anything.

You can use magnet spacers. There are a few places to get them in 1/4" diameter x 1/16" thickness
I just went to Lowes and purchased A 5 pk of SS Hex Machine Nuts 4-40, for $1.15. I currently (pun intended) have both batts successfully charging with 2 red lights.
Final scenario : remove the stock spacers, insert the batts, slide the batts back just enough to slip these little nuts in between the + end and the + terminal. I used a jewelers screwdriver to align the nuts properly.

Cool, yeah those be the ones thanks! They should come with smaller o rings in addition to the ones that came with it. They're great but the one I got didn't fit anything until I changed out the o-ring.
Funny you mentioned that...When I first got them they were perfect...So the other day I try one on a carto (XL 510 MF style) and I cant get it in there....Not even close to in!!! SO I try it on an atty and it pops right in...Later that day I try it on the carto again and its loose???? So now if they are tight I put a little Vaseline on there and it pops right in...I guess e-liquid would work almost as good but I found when using liquid it dries out and then it is hard to get it off...
I hope Neb dosent see this...He's feelin a little naughty today!
