well I would say this thread as run its course.
Come on - really? That's what you guys are going with? That nicotine doesn't elevate your blood pressure, but it does to everyone else on the planet?
I could find hundreds of sources saying that nicotine elevates blood pressure, and I doubt that you guys could find one. Let's try to keep it real, OK?
How Anecdotal Evidence Can Undermine Scientific Results: Scientific American
well I would say this thread as run its course.
By the time I phoned 911, my face had already turned purple, and I felt my heart seize and stop.
Keeping it real
Going for a jog around the block elevates your blood pressure too LOL Not saying that nic doesn't elevate blood pressure I just don't think it is what causes heart disease. If it did jogging would be bad for you
Science is only fact until it is proven wrong.
Then, to top it off, his sidekick posts a bunch of misleading and irrelevant clips about the cardiovascular havoc nicotine plays on vapers, and scoffs at anyone who dares question them".
You say you don't think nicotine causes heart disease because jogging raises your blood pressure? LOL? Oof. That's not what I call "keeping it real".
Little about scientific theories or opinions themselves have to do with "fact", believe it or not. In science, a "fact" is pretty much "data", from which observations are made, hypotheses proposed, and theories supported. You seem to be implying that since a theory can be proposed, gain widespread acceptance, and then be supplanted by a superior one, that we shouldn't put any credence in anything that science has to offer.
To that, I would say that it was once commonly held that the earth was flat. Now we have pretty solid evidence that it's basically globular, and that I base my actions in part on the belief that the scientific community is not going to come out tomorrow with the startling news that it's really a dodecahedron.
Similarly, I'm convinced, to the point that I seek to avoid becoming addicted to it again, that nicotine consumption is more harmful than helpful.
...So I am a new vaper.. But I am not a new human, I have spent 62 year on this planet, 40+ of them with a Phd Eng. One of my youngest adult daughters is a biochemist Bsc, my oldest is a postgrad...
I know almost everyone here is going to yell about this post and I wil probably get banned but here goes.
Nic is honestly and truly a poison just like lots of drugs we like to use. I am a 40 year smoker and have just changed over to vaping in the past 3 months. The health benifits are great and I wouldn't go back to analoges for anything.
So I am a new vaper.. But I am not a new human, I have spent 62 year on this planet, 40+ of them with a Phd Eng. One of my youngest adult daughters is a biochemist Bsc, my oldest is a postgrad.
Please consider this :
The lethal dose for a non-smoking adult is .5 to 1mg per Kg of body wieght. ( look it up )
The lethal dose for a child is 0.11 ml per Kg.
24mg e-liquid contains 24mg of nic per ml ( not 2.4 or .24mg per ml )
So one 10ml bottle of 24mg e-liquid contains 24 x 10 or 240mg of nic
240 mg X 2.2 lbs per Kg = 528 lbs of adult non-smoking human at 100% absorbtion.
( 240 mg X 2.2 lbs) X 10 = 5280 lbs of child.
Argue about no studies, absorbtion rates, civil rights, second hand vape or anything you like.
One 3ml bottle of nic juice will put a child in the hospital if your lucky or in the cemetary if your not.
We love our candy apple, cotton candy, butter scotch and other sweet wonderful smelling e-juices. I use them and love them as well. BUT they are like putting a hand grenade in a doll, children will love them too. The first time a child drinks e-liquid, we will not be talking about a vaping in public bans. Vaping will be outlawed.
Please get e-liquid manufacturers to put real danger lables on thier bottles. Maybe put bottles inside real child proof containers. Maybe bring back the skull and cross bones labels.
Please lock up your nic. Treat it with respect. Think about how we carry it. What happens if we leave it at a freinds house.
Lets look at a solution to this real problem, at least exploding batteries burn the vaper not the inocent.

Let's ignore the OP and talk about interesting stuff.
Tobacco companies are marketing a "safe cigarette", also known as fourth generation electrically heated smoking system (EHCSS). Anybody knows about this? I keep stumbling on medical research done recently using these devices. In the papers, they specify the devices are not marketed yet, and provided to researchers by Phillip Morris. I wonder when they come out with these? I'm sure they will already have scientific data that they are safer than cigarettes, and then the FDA will gleefully say "the EHCSS is a scientifically proven safe alternative to smoking, while e-cigs, well... we don't know what's in them". I find this quite intriguing but I don't know much about it...
I guess it's a variation of this: Patent US6803545 - Electrically heated smoking system and methods for supplying electrical ... - Google Patents

Be afraid, be very afraid...
My kids are usually too drunk or high to figure out how to get the cap off my e-juice bottles.
What?
