Blackcat gum, sorberts, giant pixie straws, jawbreakers, pound-o-gum....... hell, I was on a sugar high for weeks after one visit there, lol.

When did they stop being in paper straws? (I never liked them much, but I remember they were in paper straws back in the early 80s.)

The HUGE .... ones were in plastic straws that I got, but I do remember those paper ones & they were my fav when their contents actually tasted good instead of chemical good, lol.

To continue on the subject of nicorette inhalers.....and getting our fixes...there are two items I've not seen mentioned here yet, Lolas(.25 cents)...frozen pyramid shaped koolaid type treats that always ended up dripping down off your chin and staining your new shirt....

And wax lips and mustaches that were 2 cents each which made it very difficult to stuff 25 cents worth into your mouth and still breathe, but it could be done if you looked up to the sky when you opened your mouth.

Oh the memories.

My first experience with those inhalers I opened the first one, took a huge long powerful puff (cause I was having a nic. fit)
and darn near fell over from the head rush I got off a fresh one. Immediately getting a headache....that can't be good.
Nasty stuff, not a metered does by any stretch. How did the approval for those things ever go through?
Talk about overdose!
